Apple Pickin’

Yesterdaywas a perfect end of summer day in Colorado! The sun was shining and it was delightfully warm under the gorgeous blue sky. It was a wonderful day for the kids and I to go apple pickin at Chelsea’s home.

Chelsea is my prayer partner and we’ve been meeting each Thursday at 6:30 am at a local coffee shop to pray for almost two years now. We pray about our lives, our families, our concerns and general needs. We have seen some HUGE miracles take place as a result of our intentional prayers!

I had prayed literally for probably a dozen years for a prayer partner. I wanted a woman who shared a passion for prayer and I asked God to bring me someone who would ask me first. I have met many wonderful women but didn’t want to be the one to ask fearing that they would feel obligated to say ‘yes’, after all, I’m the pastor’s wife!

So when Chelsea asked me I was elated!! (Still don’t understand why it took so long for that prayer to be answered – but I sure rejoiced that it finally was!) We have seen such dramatic answers and some so instanteous that we have stood in awe giggling time after time of God’s miraculous power!

Infact the other day Pete, Chelsea’s husband, was commenting that he would always make Chels’s and my prayer time a priority in his life (by watching their little guy Josiah) because he has been dumbfounded by the things God has done when she and I pray! I would strongly urge every woman to have a prayer partner that you meet with regularly to pray.

But Chels and I don’t just pray – we love to get together for lots of fun, and I am so thankful! She is a treasure!! Infact in this next picture we were laughing about something so hard I just had to snap a picture cause she just looked so cute laughing so hard.

One of our prayers was that God would hold this sweet little farmhouse that was on the market till Pete and Chelsea’s home sold. For months we prayed and waited and that little farmhouse just didn’t sell. =) God totally answered our prayers and now Chelsea lives “around the corner” from me in that adorable and cozy little farmhouse. Just one more added perk of the farmhouse was that it had two big apple trees. Yippee Jesus!! We are going to make pies and can lots of applesauce for winter!!! Yummmm!

By the way: any one of you, my sweet blogger friends want to come for a slice of my “famous” French Apple Pie and a cup of coffee on my front porch with a sweet view of the Rockie Mountains?
