The Eagle

Those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Isaiah 40:31

Today didn’t turn out quite like I had planned….Dw’s oxygen level had been still running too low (79-84) and so we spent the day having tests done at the hospital. The doctor thought there was a likelihood that he had a blood clot and so they were on a hunt to find it. With the election today I was joining the thousands (at least!) of others who were praying with purpose. While waiting outside the x-ray room for Dw, I was praying hard. I looked up and there was one of the most beautiful pictures of an eagle I have ever seen. (I took a picture of it with my cell.) The eagle looked like it could be circling in for a landing. I felt like the Lord was reminding me: “Hope in me, I will renew your strength, you will soar on the wings of eagles and you will not grow weary or faint.” It seemed like a love gift from the Lord specifically for today!! In the midst of the election coverage tonight, Dw put the TV on pause and talked with the kids (and I) about the election and America’s future. He then read us some passages of scripture. He read from Isaiah 40 – including verse thirty-one! I knew it was a confirming word from the Lord….”hope in the Lord, He will renew, we will soar and we are not to grow weary and faint.” Thank you Lord! I am reminded that God is on the throne. He has allowed Senator Barack Hussain Obama to win this election. I am also reminded that we are to pray for those in authority over us. I am also reminded that God wants us to pray for that America will return to the Godly values and principles it was founded upon. We cannot ignore what happened today. We must be proactive in praying (and fasting) for Godly men and women to run for policitcal office. I am convinced that prayer CAN change things….I am also reminded that we are always to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. May God bless America!!

I have never in my life felt so strongly about praying for a president. Never have I felt so sad that our country has turned into what it is.

Because of this we will continually be in prayer for President Elect Obama.

We have to stand for what is right, what is important, and no matter what “change” is coming, we can always rest knowing the Almighty God doesn’t change.

    Come Jesus Come!!

  2. Linn,

My husband Kevin and I were walking at our favorite park with our little son Philip on Election Eve. It was a glorious evening filled with bright fall colors and a beautiful sky overhead. We felt the same way you did about God being in charge and taking care of us no matter what the outcome the next day. He was showing us his power and majesty is always there no matter what. The Lord often speaks to us during our walks there, and that night was no different. With the election results yesterday, we hold onto God’s promise to us.

We will be praying for Dw to steadily and speedily get back to good health. God bless you and your family and the stong witness for Christ you all show.

    In Christ – Janet

  3. When I saw the picture of the eagle, and the verse in Isaiah, I had to look twice. I had a note pad with this very picture and verse on it, so about a year ago (before I ran out of the notepaper) I took a photo of it! I hope Dw will get some relief. I’m so sorry to hear of more issues! Hopefully, the Dr’s will be able to find the problem and treat it asap! We aren’t in Canada and don’t have socialized medicine …yet!! 🙂

I can picture Dw reading the scriptures with your precious family, and wish we could have been sitting right there in the room with our family listening.

God is still on the throne.. and PRAYER changes things!!! Ever listen to Southwest Radio Church?
