Hello everyone…it’s Lori again! With Linn’s permission I’m here to chat with you.
Here’s the scoop….as all of you know, Linn and her family are taking each day…moment by moment. And with God’s amazing grace, they know that as difficult as it will be, they WILL press forward and persevere through this very trying trial. I spoke with Linn yesterday and I’m so happy to say that her sense of humor is showing glimpses of emerging again!
So here’s what we need from YOU…..as you may or may not know, we (Linn and Dw’s friends and church) are beating down the doors of ABC to easily convince them that the Saunders are the PERFECT family to do an Extreme Home Makeover on!! Being overwhelmed with the fire aftermath, Linn and Dw knew nothing about this undertaking until it was all well underway.
I think it is NO coincidence that this show happens to be the Saunders’ FAVORITE!! In fact, Linn told me that they have dozens of episodes on their DVR that they watch over and over….the kids even dreaming about how they would each want their room IF they were ever chosen!
Many, many, many of you have asked what you can do to help Linn and Dw and the kids? Seriously! I know many, many, many of you have left some heart-felt comments on Linn’s blog…it totally warms the sweet gal’s heart! BUT, we need your comments on the blog we have set up exclusively for the EHM people to go to and see the HUGE following this family has. My cousin had your blog address on her facebook page. How refreshing, encouraging, convicting, and inspiring your page is. I love it, “keep it simple”, remembering that God is in FULL control – even when we are not. Thank you for the inspiration and encouragement. BTW I am an exptremly blessed orphan, adopted from Korea by a wonderful couple. I have always marveled at how the Lord has been with me every step of the way in my life journey – putting me right were I am today at this very moment. What an awesome God we serve! I just posted on 2 yahoo groups and sent out a email to my friends trying to get more support.
I think if EHM comes we need to have a blogger party there to help with the house and of course meet this incredible family when they come home.

I was working on a Cynthia Heald study today on faith and this quote immediately made me think of you guys. “When Paul speaks of hte shield of faith he is speaking of a protection which will defend the innermost life from foul and destructive invasion . . . He was not concerned with the arrangement of circumstances but he was concerned that they should never bring disaster to his soul. He did not seek a shield to ward off ill circumstances, but he sought a shield to keep ill circumstances from doing him harm. Paul wanted a shield against all circumstances in order that no circumstance would unman him and impoverish the wealth of his soul. He found the shield he needed in a vital faith in Christ.” (John Henry Jowett) Your faith is shining through in this circumstance and I know that shield of faith is protecting your very wealthy souls. I really wanted snow this week while I was here – then it occurred to me that you guys need clear sunny days to go through the house. YEA – I can wait 🙂
I’ve only been reading this blog for about a week but I admire this family so much! Adopting children, their love and faith in God, and their love for their children. I think a Home Makeover would be such an awesome idea! This family, even though I don’t know them personally, is definitely well deserving of this. They are in my prayers and I hope they get chosen by ABC!
