Friends are Friends Forever

We thank everyone for their prayers as we moved into the rental. It went well and last night the kids slept in sleeping bags and the babies in cribs (thanks to our sweet friend Terry coming late at night with tools to help Dw put the cribs together). We were able to sleep in a queen bed someone gave us, and we all slept well. Yippee Jesus!

During this very difficult season we have been blessed by many, many very sweet people. There is something so special about these dear friends of ours that I just couldn’t let another day pass without honoring them. They have each done treasured things for us.

For instance, Terry and Tavi have regularly shown up (at our hotel and here) bringing flowers because they want us to be reminded that flowers speak “life” and “brighter days”. We are constantly reminded when looking at the flowers that we are loved.

There is also Kim and JoJo and Sally and Amie who each text me regularly or brought favorite candy or special things or phone messages “just to check in”….

Then there are those who day after day did inventory in the horribly smelling, rentlessly reekin’, freezing cold place that once was our cozy log home. Thank you Carie and Irma and JD and Sara and Steve and Pat and Tom for listening to the stories as we would sift through our once-upon-a-time treasures. It has been a job that was only bearable because of treasured friends who have journeyed with us in the task. They have gotten sitters or taken days off from work just to be there for us and we will never be able to thank them enough.

Then there is Sara and Steve who felt that the Lord wanted them to take Dw and I on shopping trips to buy a new wardrobe for each of us. Steve took Dw last week. Neither Dw nor Steve are shopping guys (at all!), but they actually enjoyed it together and Dw came home with many bags of new duds. He looks so very handsome!

Then Sara took me and Irma joined us. We spent hours in the Polo Ralph Lauren outlet store and I came home with gobs of treasures – we had so much fun and many laughs – it was utterly refreshing! How we thank the Lord for placing people around us to walk through this difficult season with us….and speaking of friends….

  1. I’m so glad to hear that the move went well – thank you Jesus!! I kept praying all day yesterday that it would be a smooth transition, that the new home would be a place of safety for your family, a blessed sanctuary. I also prayed that all fear would be removed and that all of you would sleep peacefully last night, no more nightmares, no more fear. Thank you Jesus!! Such a faithful God!

    Love you guys!

  2. So glad to here that the move went well. I am sure it was just nice for you all to be under one roof together.

Thanks for stopping by my new blog. I think the follower thing is working now (at least I hope so). When you have a chance I would love to hear more about Oscar! 🙂
