Thankful Thursday

Although I already wrote a post for today, I couldn’t let the day pass without my Thankful Thursday….as we always (no matter what) have so much we get to be thankful for!

This Thankful Thursday here are just some of the things I am thankful for:

1. my Bible, although covered with soot and reekin’ with smoke, it’s promises never end.

2. indoor plumbing.

3. gorgeous days that make us hope that maybe, just maybe, Spring is coming to Colorado!

4. great friends who we can laugh with and cry with, like Terry and Tavi, who welcome our gang into their home anytime we are able to come and they always love on our kids like their own.

5. being able to hit Dunkin Donuts while the Quiz kids were still here….yummm!!

7. New Chucks?? (We used to call them Converse.) 8. An extra-special day of antique store shopping with my Emma Joy – hunting for the PERFECT Memorial Box for one of you my dear, sweet bloggy friends!! =) (*giggle*)

9. Kids pretending to sleep, followed by peels of giggles. 10. The most spectacular fog covering over the homes below a couple of mornings ago…
10. What are you Thankful for this Thankful Thursday?

  1. Hi Linn, I’ve been reading your blog for a while, but only got a blog of my own a few days ago, so this is my first time commenting. I just wanted to say that I love reading your blog, you are an inspiration, and I’m praying ceaselessly for you and your precious family.

  2. Chucks? My family LOVES them … but we call them “Chuck T’s” (I guess they are Chuck Taylors.)

I think we have about 10 pair right now …

    Laurel 🙂

  3. Linn, I have been reading your blog since the fire so that I could stay updated for prayer requests. Mark and I continue to pray for all of you. We were at the house helping out the day you found “the shoes” but we had left at 1:00 and you must have found them after we left. This is the first I heard about them! Praise God it is a precious story. I love the memorial box idea. Mark and I have many stories but I thought with us being empty nesters, It’s too late to start one. But then I realized someday there will be grandkids to tell these stories to. So I am going to start a Memorial Box too! I love your Blog it keeps me encouraged. Also Last Sadder-Day when you and Dw were struggling God had you heavy on my heart and I prayed for you all day. I love you guys. Michelle S.

  4. I’m thankful for you Linn. For your spunk and gentle spirit. I’m thankful for those little ones that you’ve been blessed with. Everytime I see their smiles, it touches my heart.

I’m thankful for God’s amazing grace.

    Continued prayers…

  5. As I celebrated what would have been my mom’s 60th birthday this past Monday, I was reminded of the prayer she prayed when she was diagnosed with cancer the first time–I was nine–she begged God to let her live to see me through adolescence. Her cancer came back and she went to be with Jesus in November 2007, when I was 22 years old. How blessed am I to have had an extra 13 years with such a beautiful Godly woman. I am thankful that He is faithful to us!

  6. I’m thankful for you and DW allowing us to watch you walk through this valley with complete and utterly abandoned faith in God. It is truly breathtaking to watch. And I am so thankful you all have a rental home!!! Oh and I am also thankful for Donuts, though we don’t have Dunkin’ but have the Krispy variety! :)))

  7. I am thankful for you and your family. I am thankful that you have allowed us to follow your journey. I appreciate your openness and honesty. I am also thankful for your shoe miracle. Wow, when I read about the miracle God provided for you I had chills. God is so into the details of our lives. He knew the significance of the shoes and He chose to protect them and restore them to you. I am also thankful for naptime especially when a certain 3 year old decided that sleep last night was highly overrated!

    Hugs,
    Robin

  8. Dear Linn,

I, too, am thankful for you and Dwight and your big beautiful family. I am thankful that you are safe and warm and together. I am thankful that through all you have endured, you continue to take comfort in the Lord and to praise Him and that through you and your family, His light shines so brightly.

    With Much Love,
    Amy

  9. I am so thankful that you are FINALLY in a rental. I am so thankful that already God is using your story to touch the hearts of many. Your faith is incredible.
I am so thankful for the gift of my children. I am thankful that God has us on a journey. I am praising God for the freedom we have in Christ!

    Thankful for you, Linny.

  10. I am thankful for your blog which never fails to give me a glimpse of Jesus. And today I am so thankful for adult chldren who are choosing to follow hard after God, and grandchildren whose hearts are soft toward God. I am most thankful for my 7-year old grandson who told his parents what God had been showing him about God’s path for his life, as he’s been reading Exodus. (Yep – his words!) What would God show a 7 year old about what He wants for his path for life? Courage and strength! WOW! That’s what I’m thankful for today!
