March 2nd, 2009 – Abigail turns 26 years old

Twenty-six years ago today, at 6:53 AM I gave birth to a gorgeous baby girl! She weighed in at 7 lbs. 4 oz. and we couldn’t have been a happier mama and daddy. We had had years of infertility and finally(!) God was gracious to us and was beginning to fulfill the promise He had given me the year before….”He makes the barren woman to be at home – the joyful mother of children.”

Since most of you don’t hear about our kids that are grown, I think their birthday is a good day to honor them and tell you a bit about them.

No Matter What Ab – You will always Be Daddy’s Little Girl…

Sisters FOREVER…

Abi and Ryan have been married for almost three years and live in the Los Angeles area. She is a professional photographer and has her own photography business. She is an awesome photographer (and I’m not even that prejudice.) If you’ve never been to her blog, check it out here….or her photography business website can be seen here.

(Ryan is #2 of 12 kids and they had all the siblings in their wedding)
Silly Sisters at Thanksgiving trying to get me not to want to take their picture *whatever*

Abi flies around the country making people’s memories a reality with her awesome God-given skills. On a personal note: those who know her best know that she is: sweet, a safe confidant, completely loyal, tender-hearted, diligent, extremely creative, over the top thoughtful, gentle, extremely funny, always kind and very hard-working.

Now that she is grown and married she is one of my very best friends. I call her and bounce stuff off her all the time and she is soooo stinkin’ wise – I love that! We are so very proud of her!! I have asked her to go to China with me to get Jubilee, so we’ll see how that works out.

Happy birthday Abigail – our precious “source of joy” (just as your name means)!!

On a little sidenote: Yippee Jesus – Abigail and Ryan are coming home for a visit on Sunday…and will not only meet Elijah and Elizabeth for the first time – but they are staying 5 whole days!! *grinning from ear to ear* How we need their visit now – at this difficult time!!
PS I will be doing my Memorial Box Monday Post on Tuesday, as I had to honor this precious girl of mine today!

  1. Ooo much excitement! Your blog has been refusing to let me comment recently lol. Glad that problem seems to be remedied.

    Happy Birthday Abigail!

Linn you sure do seem to have had a lot of birthdays close together! And Mallory is right you have such a gorgeous family.

  2. Birthday Abigail!

I have looked at her website before and honestly she has the most amazing wedding pictures I have ever seen.

Also, how could she not be wise when she has a momma like you?

  3. Happy Birthday Abigail. I visited your blog a while back and seen some of your work. It was awesome. Hope you had a wonderful day and many, many more.

I agree Linn, all your kids are beautiful.

  4. What a fun post!

My eldest daughter also has her own photography business. Having so many younger siblings always gave her subjects to work with. 🙂

And … my eldest daughter lives out of state.

And … my eldest daughter is definitely my best friend.

Now … just waiting for the Lord to bring a life partner for my dear daughter. However, a young man with 17 siblings is showing a bit of interest. What a wedding that could be, with 29 siblings involved.

    Fun! Fun!

  5. Happy Birthday to your precious “source of joy”, Abigail! I am so happy that you are going to enjoy a five day visit with Abby and Ryan. That will do a mamas heart much good!

    Love you friend~

  6. What a really nice post. I hope you have so much fun with Abi & Ryan and that time slows down a bit during their visit. Just as a sidenote, I was pregnant with my second son during the same time – he will turn 26 in August, and I have a 5 year old Abigail, who goes by Abby!
