Thankful Thursday – March 5, 2009

Thankfulness is a conscious decision. I started Thankful Thursday here in hopes that it would catch on. In that post I explained our Thankful Game that we play in our home (or car) on a regular basis. I now love going on blogs I’ve never been to and seeing their Thankful Thursday post…it is just a thrill!! One day I am going to list all the blogs that I’ve been to that celebrate Thankful Thursday….
Infact just this morning one person (who will remain anonymous) here in our home needed an attitude adjustment and so we played the game. In minutes they were smiling and off to start their day with a whole different attitude…*big sigh from this mama*

This Thankful Thursday I am thankful for:

1. The generousity of so many of you bloggy friends. We opened the last of the boxes last night. Wow! You guys are unbelievable!! I will post pictures, Lord willing, later today. We were brought to tears with many of the things you all sent. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
By the way, so many of you – you know all about us (well except maybe our underwear size) and yet, we know nothing about you….so it was a real joy for some of you to send your family pictures – what beautiful families you all have…and for the rest of you and all you lurkers too (Hi Pam) here is a picture of what I’m guessing you all look like…

2. I am thankful for those who have posted comments on our blog. We have been so touched to know so many care, are praying for us and love us – and you never even met us! Thank you!
3. I am thankful for my (pink!) laptop.

4. I am thankful that someone somewhere invented blogging – oh such fun!!

5. I am thankful that God sent His only son for each of us.

6. I am thankful that He longs for personal relationship with us – even as imperfect human beings – He still wants relationship with us….hard to imagine why??

7. I am thankful for my Bible and how God uses it to speak to me daily.

8. I am thankful for worship music.

9. I am thankful for strong coffee with a dab of half and half.

10. I am thankful that it is just 3 more days until Abi and RyRy come! I can hardly stand it!! Yippee Jesus!

  1. Linn, I know what you mean by being thankful. I do mine on Sundays and it always helps to make my week go better. I love readig your list. Continued prayers. I just know you’re going to have a wonderful time when Abi and RyRy are there. Thanks again for sharing your heart.

  2. Thank you so much for sharing your hard journey with all of us. God is definitely evident in your life and how you portray in on your blog. I hope you have a very Thankful rest of your Thursday.

  3. Thank you for your post today…it has been a hard few weeks…my four children under age four have really been giving me a hard time for the last few weeks (and then there is just the normal things from the other 5). I hate to complain, but I am feeling really wore out by the CONSTANT issues. So, thankyou for letting me share this!!

  4. I wrote my first Thankful Thursday post today, and linked back to your blog.

Thanks for inspiring all of us to be Thankful, no matter the circumstances of our lives.

    Blessings,

  5. Yes, I think your TT has definitely caught on—I see it all over the place. Beautiful!

I am so happy that you get to spend some time with your precious daughter—just what you need, I’m sure. Praying that their visit will be like water to your weary heart.

Trusting that you have settled in your ‘new’ home. Please let us know (when you have a moment) what has been decided about your log home—to rebuild, or not?

Know that you are such a blessing and a treasure to many of us here in blog-world.

    Love and biggest hugs.

  6. I’m making a conscious effort to choose joy. Maybe remembering what I have to be thankful for is a good remedy to my Eeyore personality.

    So thankful for worship music.
So thankful for a God who loves me to much to let me stay where I am.
So thankful for His amazing creation. I live in Oregon’s version of Durango.
    So thankful for laughter.
And so thankful that people see the imperfect me and love me anyway.

  7. I did my first Thankful Thursday on my blog. It did make my feel blessed. I know that I am but to say it out loud really makes it real. So thank you. Where does one get a pink laptop?

  8. And, I am thankful that God has allowed our paths to cross….in cyberspace.

Please take a look at our blog when you have a spare moment. 😉 I have a special prayer request I’d like to know you and DW are praying.

    Blessings,
    Robbie

  9. Linn,

I am sooooo thankful that someone invented blogging, because without it it is very likely that I would have never “met” YOU . . . or Dw . . . or your precious babies, big and little . . .
And my eyes would not have been opened to Uganda, and we would not have our sweet sponsor child, Winnie. I would hve missed the miracle of Elijah, and Elizabeth’s BIG time miracle. I would not have the fond memory of Dw yelling at the top of his lungs for the storm to stop, so that you and the babies could fly away home! Or the fond memory of Dw sharing that he thought he heard God laughing, and telling the angels that he really had Dw going that time. I was seriously cracking up to myself thinking about that just today. I could go on and on, but seriously, my life is much richer for knowing all of you. . .

And as I look to your sidebar to see 393 followers, I smile, knowing that many lives are richer because of you. Thank you Jesus for the person You created to invent blogging! Thank you Jesus that Linn blogs!

Have a wonderful time with Abi and Ryan, I’ll be thinking of you!

    Blessings to you friend ~

    Tina

  10. I’m so thankful for the ability to fool you that badly if that is what you think I look like. ROFL (and if for some reason you are hearing from God, I am signing up for an extreme make over A.S.A.P.).

P.S.would you tell DW to update his blog? Please. I know that his fingers have had time to heal. and his hide away crawl space is currently unavailable….. So no excuses…( and I happen to like his commentaries and insights)

  11. Hi Mrs. Linn, I enjoyed reading your Thankful Thursday post today. I’ve yet to start one of my own, but I must say that this week I am most thankful that my mom is being released from the hospital today and that God reminded her in a vision that He is Jehovah Rapha and that He is taking care of her! I’m believing God for her healing and her life. Thank you, Jesus!!!

P.S. I, too, am thankful for strong coffee, but I need a tad bit more than a dab of creamer in my cup. 🙂

  12. I love Thankful Thursdays- it is a great reminder of truly how much we have to be thankful for!!

    Yippee Jesus!
    Blessings from Mn,
    Jean
