Daddy, Emma and Graham are home…Yippee Jesus!!

On a whim I decided it would be really fun to surprise the Uganda team at the airport in Albuquerque four hours (one way) away. I asked Josh and Anna Quiz to go along and they were stoked! My plan: a few minutes into the trip break out the lunch I had packed….eat along the way (it makes the time go so much faster!) and then, of course, Elijah would fall asleep and take his nap for the usual 2 hours. By the time he woke up we would only have about an hour and a half left. Wonder when I’m gonna’ figure out that anything planned that involves 2 year olds means that the original plan is a joke. Five minutes into the trip (without even eating yet) Elijah was asleep and that nap, or should I say “catnap” lasted all of 20 minutes and that was that for the entire trip. So much for my great plan. The team was so surprised and excited to see us waiting at the gates with posters. We cheered as they walked through….we are so proud of their sacrifice and service!! Elijah was just giggling and giggling when he saw daddy- I think he could hardly believe he was finally home. We rolled back into our driveway about 12:40AM. This morning we let everyone sleep in and while Elijah and Elizabeth ate Isaiah and I made our extra special cinnamon rolls. Daddy was so excited to see the rolls rising when he got up!! Thank you for all your prayers!! You guys rock!!

  1. So glad the team is back. Thanks to all of them for the sacrifice of their time (although I know they don't see it as a sacrifice). Gotta love those best laid plans… Maybe next time fill in the toddlers on your plans before you leave so they will know what the plan is. lol

Love the "welcome home Daddy!" pics. Looks like some of the homecomings we have had around here. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. There are not enough words to express the love portrayed in those pics. So precious.

Praying for your family as you continue the house rebuilding process. Keep up the Good fight.

  2. Whoohoo! So glad they're home safe! What a fun surprise. Again, you are superwoman to drive all that way. You amaze me friend. I'm thrilled you have your family back. Can't wait to hear the stories.

So glad they're home! And what a great surprise to come home to!

  5. Praise God that they are home safely!!! Love the pics–although the casts on Isaiah's legs made me wince. He seems so happy in spite of them, though! And the cinnamon rolls are making my mouth water….
