Grateful/Thankful Thursday – Six Months Ago Today!

Six months ago TODAY we had the privilege of bringing home two of the sweetest little treasures in all the world…..

Breakfast at McDonald’s in the Netherlands

(a first for these two little cherubs)

Come on Emma – show us your “been traveling for 36 hours face”

Waiting in Denver for the last flight *home*

And from this facial expression…..(notice how the eyes turn downward)

To this expression….(notice eyes) – –

Oh the joy that comes when you belong to a forever family – forever!!

  1. I can't believe it's been six months! But then again, SO MUCH has happened in those six months that it must seem like it's been years!

Those two little darlings are such a blessing to you guys and I'm so happy for you!

Are we still getting together in July?? I hope so! 🙂

**BTW, I'm like…way behind on reading your blog so I'm grabbin' a cup of coffee & getting' cozy with my computer to catch up!

  2. Linny, can it really be that long…wow. The pictures are priceless.

Our baby turns 19 tomorrow. I picked her up from the hospital at 10 days old. She is a delight and such a wonderful young lady with such a tender heart for the Lord. I can't imagine not having this precious child/young adult in our lives. hugs and love

  3. Wow, it's been 6 months already. Congratulations!!! I love to see how much the faces of our little ones change once they experience the love of a family. What a blessing!!

  4. Linny, I thought of you today. I had a very scary thing happen. Just before lunch, I fixed dinner in the crockpot. Unbeknownst to me, when I pushed the crockpot to the back of the stove, it turned the back burner on. I went ahead and had my lunch, got the baby down and took him downstairs where we both napped for a good 3 hours.

As I woke, my 4 year old was calling from upstairs that his room was stinky. I didn't know what to make of that, but soon I could smell it too. Something was burning and it didn't smell like food.

When I ran to the kitchen I found the leg of the crockpot completely melted and smoking.

I remembered your Angels who poured water over the logs in your home until the appointed time when you would all get out safely. And I thought, there must have been Angels in my kitchen today keeping the flames at bay until I woke to turn the burner off on my stove and move the crockpot away from danger.

    Thank God for his protection.

  5. Linny…I look at these photos and just thank God for these children and their beautiful spirits and kissable cheeks! Six months already!?
    Wonderful!
    Blessings,
    Jill

  6. Has it really been six months already???

Yes, Shonni and I had the BEST time together. We actually thought of you–something absolutely hilarious happened and we thought you would have gotten such a laugh out of it. I'm going to post the little experience in a few minutes. 🙂

YES—PTL about Haven–an unbelievable experience. More, more, more Lord Jesus!

  7. Can't believe it has been that long! They are so precious…blessing to you all

Last night was fun:) I told Jes what we did and she couldn't believe it either – yep I'll take the heat for YOUR idea *hee hee*

  8. Congratulations on 6 months! They are both so precious and I love the pictures. Those are 2 very well loved children, and I love the comparison of the last 2 photos. It's amazing how one's face reflects their circumstances. I see lots of joy on Elizabeth's face! I can't imagine a greater gift than a forever family!
