I’ve driven 900 Miles Since Yesterday & about 350 miles to go….

We have stopped for the night at JoJo and Dave’s home in Colorado Springs. Dw was not feeling well and I was exhausted. The trip went well – I could tell you guys were praying – Thank you!!
Dw is now running a good size fever and that is something the docs said we needed to watch for. Please pray about that, would you?

I thought I would add some sweet pictures of little Isaiah’s new hand splints that he sleeps with….if you think of him, please pray that God would use these to begin to heal his hands – our little treasure guy is soooo hopeful and eager to wear them!!

  1. Still praying!!

Oh my goodness, I love that little boy so much. It might be a good thing if I never meet him, because I might kiss those little cheeks off! 😉

  2. Praying . . .

    Psalm 91:14

"Because he loves me," says the Lord, "I will rescue him; I will protect him for he acknowledges my name."

    In Christ,
Janet, Kevin, Ted, Philip, and waiting on Eli

  3. Linny…
Please let Isaiah know how handsome he looks in the photos.
Also if you would like I have a thought about comfort for wearing the braces during the warmer nights. In a similar situation it made mine more tolerable.
Praying you all the way home tomorrow.
    God's speed,
    Barbara Lyman 🙂

  4. Linny – we're praying for y'all as well. Dw is a brave man who's holding up well. It is tiring and I know he doesn' feel well. It's so frustrating for a man to not be able to "do".

Isaiah – oh what can you say? He just has the sweetest countenance about him. His therapists must love workin with him. These are such special children God has given us. We're coverin you all in prayer here.

  5. Glad to hear that all of you are safe. Been saying a prayer for all of you off and on all weekend, and I know that Rach has been too.
Rest well and have a safe rest of the trip home…

  6. Oh, Sweet Linny, I didn't know you were in the midst of such a trial….I've been so out of touch with major events in our family.

I will be praying that the remainder of your journey is safe, that you continue to feel the sweet presence of the Savior.

    Blessings,
    Robbie

  7. I am glad that you stopped for the nite. Better for everyone to break the trip up. I hope Dw is better in the morning, and I am so hoping that Isaiah has wonderful results with the hand splints. Lots of prayers being said for you all!

  8. Will so pray for the fever while I'm on my knees tonight! And Isaiah splints…he looks like a Transformer! How cool is that? I know they'll do their job!

    Love you, friends!

  9. I'm so glad you guys are almost home. There is a group from The River Church that will be fasting and praying for you guys tomorrow. Praise the Lord for all He has already done and for all He is yet to do!

  11. I have felt a connection to you since I found your blog a few months ago. Maybe it's because there are so many things I admire about you, things I would like to be doing myself, or maybe it's because I'm a "Linny" too. Whatever it is, thank you for sharing your life, your faith, and your love of God with us. Please know that I am praying for Dw's recovery, Isaiah's hands, and a safe trip home for all of you.

  12. Praying for safe travels for the rest of your trip. Praying that Dwight's temp goes down and stays down. Love the braces for Isaiah. Praying for great results from them too.

  13. Praying in MN! Good choice stopping in Colorado Springs- it is such a tough drive- tomorrow you will feel refreshed.

Isaiah is adorable! I love the hand splints! What a wonderful boy to wear them every night!!

Praying for the last leg of your drive home!
    Bless you all!

  14. Linny, praying God will send a mighty healing your way, for DW and Isaiah and an awesome amount of strength for their tired wife/momma! Your testimony to the fact of just being able to endure all that comes your way is an incredible blessing and witness to the world! Keep the faith and allow us to shoulder a small part of your burdens so they are just a little lighter. Lifting you up before the throne!
    Suzette

  15. We will continue to lift you up and pray for your man, and for your continued safe travel. We will also be praying for Isaiahs hands. He has the sweetest little spirit, and it just shows all over his face.

  16. Hi Linny,

I am awake and praying for you tonight. I don't know why, but God is keeping me up and I feel DW on my heart tonight, so I am praying. Just thought I'd let you know!

  20. Oh precious friend–you are almost there! Yayeee–today you will be home. So sorry Dw is feeling so yukky. Poor guy. Trusting that he had a good nights rest and is feeling better as you wake up this morning…ready for the journey HOME! I can only imagine how your babies at home must be longing to have you home.
Drive safely today, sweet friend. Know that I am praying for Dw AND sweet little Isaiah.

    Sending you a HUGE hug.

  21. Oh my precious friend. You are ALMOST home. So sorry your amazing hubby is not feeling good, yuk. I know your hearts must both be longing just to be home now. Hang in there–you're almost there. 23. Where would we be but for the grace of God?
I am praying for rest, for healing..in fact I woke up early this morning and every time I started feeling sorry for myself that my husband is leaving to serve our country in Iraq, I would pray for your husband. It helps prioritize.
Sweet Isaiah. I will pray for him too. I have been praying for Jubilee as well….what's the wait? Are you waiting for your LOA/LOC?
    Much love,
    Holly from Purpose Driven Family

  24. We will continue to pray for Dw's fever…safe travels the final leg of your journey and for your precious Isaiah. Our daughter had almost the exact hand splints that Isaiah is wearing. Our's didn't work because they waited too long before starting her treatment…she was already too old. Isaiah is the perfect age to begin this and God is going to work a miracle with his hands.

  25. We have been in constant prayer and will continue! By the time you approve this comment you will be home, but know that you were covered the whole way over the mountains. We can't wait to see you guys and look forward to the healing that is coming for several members of the family.

  26. ahhh…My heart swells in pain for your current hard road….Lord pour down your grace and in sweetness for little Isaiah and his hand….Abba heal, and restore.

    Blessings to your family.

  27. Am also following you on twitter. Glad you are on the road home, hopefully today is an uneventful day, and Dw's doing better today. God is with you……

  28. Dear Linn,

Just wanted to let you know that I have been following your post and along with others continue to pray for you, your husband and your family.

    Cari Bacon

  29. You are an amazing woman Linn. You are driving home with a son who just had surgery, a very ill husband, sweet Liberty, and yet you are still praying for others. We are praying for God to remove Dw's fever, for safe travels for all of you, and for those little hand casts. Love you tons!

  30. I haven't been able to stop praying for you and your family for days!!! God has really placed a burden on me for you all! I've been checking in on your tweets several times each day too so that I can continue to pray specifically. I feel so blessed to be praying for you. May you find God's blessings in this difficult journey.

  31. praying and getting everyone i know to pray. i cannot wait to witness the healing of sweet isaiah's hands! how refreshing the faith and hope of a child. 🙂 cant wait to celebrate this!

  32. Such a gorgeous child your Isaiah. I can just picture his eagerness to where those hand splints, I know from your blog how much his hands bother him. I'm praying for a wonderful miracle.

As far as poor Dw, I feel for him so. I once had Hep A and it is an awful illness. I don't wish it on anybody. He will need to do lots of resting, although I remember how hard that was when feeling just so very dreadful. I lost a lot of weight and strength and it took patience and lots of fresh air and good food for me to make a full recovery. Once recovered I had no continuing problems, I do hope it will be the same for him. He is also in my thoughts.

Best wishes to all your wonderful and loving family. You inspire me.

  33. Linny,
We are praying for your family. The splints look just like our daughter's. She is 3 1/2 and can put them on all by herself. They have done amazing things for her little hands. We are praying Isaiah has the same blessed results. God Bless.
