Kearney, Nebraska

Just to update everybody that we are stopped for the night in Kearney, Nebraska. I hate to look at a map, because its a long way across this beautiful state.

Dw wasn’t able to sleep most of the way, but reclined in the front seat. He’s not up to talking, he just feels too cruddy. Please do keep praying for him.

I could truly feel your prayers as I drove. I spent alot of the time praying for you my bloggy friends whose names I could remember. If you have left a comment recently, you were likely prayed for by name as I drove. (I am usually – emphasis on usually – good with names.) Dw could hear me whispering softly and asked what I was doing….”praying”…..

I want to try to drive the 800 miles left to home tomorrow. Dw thinks he might not be able to take the ride for that long. Either way, we are heading there soon – Yippee Jesus!!

Dave and JoAnne left us in Iowa City and headed to Buffalo for the vacation that they cancelled because Dw was sick. They are such dear treasured friends. As Jo & I packed up and cleaned the room at the Ronald McDonald House, Dave majorly cleaned our car….so Jean – tell Sarah that probably Katie’s is now messier than mine. =)

Please don’t stop praying for Dw…..his numbers were better, but we really, really don’t need a relapse (which they say is sometimes possible with Hepatitus A)…..THank you so much!! Much love from Nebraska!! xo

  4. Still praying like crazy for your man! How is Isaiah feeling?

I am so glad you are on your way home, but I imagine it's got to be SO hard being stuck in the car that long- especially with a sick hubby and a recovering little boy. Liberty must be a real trooper!

((hugs)) Praying always for you guys!!

  5. I have been reading your blog for the past few months and had missed a few days here and just read about your hubby. I am so sorry and had the same thing about a year ago after our adoption. I almost did not make it and know how sick he is. It is scary and am thankful he can ride in the car. That was nearly impossible. I am so sorry your family is going through this and I know prayer really helps. I was really sick for about 5 weeks, but once I started to heal it went fast. i will pray the same for your dw. It is scary, but I am hopeful he will heal up and not have any residual problems. The numbers do seem to escalate rather quickly and seem like they will never come back down, but they will. Let me know if I can answer any questions. It makes me sad to know someone is suffering right now with this. I can't imagine being any sicker. Please take care and I know you don't know me, but I will be praying.

  7. Hi there, I am glad you are heading home. I have no idea where you are as I have never driven out west at all! I hope the nights rest will help DW feel better this morning when he awakens and you are refreshed and able to get the majority of your drive done today.

Our choir is singing 'Healing Rain' today by Michael W. Smith. I will pray for your family as I think of the words to this amazing song as I am singing in our choir.

I hope Isaiah is feeling okay with this long trip and he is able to stay comfortable.

Praying for you to stay safe, alert, calm, and pain free for DW adn Isaiah!
    Lisa

  13. My husband's parents live close to Kearny, NE.
I have been praying for all of you since I found your blog and will continue. Have a safe trip and may the peace of God surround you.

  14. I, too, have prayed for all of you, and am so thankful to hear that things are looking better. Yes, the prayers will continue.

Thank you, once again, for sharing your heart and allowing us to be a part of your life and walk with you in this journey.

  15. Linny,

Glad to hear that you are on your way home. So happy to know that Dw's numbers are better and praying that there will NOT be a relapse.
Praying for you on your way home…for safety and peace.
    love you!

  16. I've done a drive from TN to CO with a mildly sick husband and a baby…It was difficult. I am encouraged by the strength you find in God! Thank you for sharing it with us all! Praying now.

  17. So glad that you are heading home. We are all still praying for Dw, and I have no doubt that being around all his sweet babies (minus a few) will surely help him continue to improve also!
And I just want to share some praise with you. The Army had requested to extend my husbands deployment (he's AF) but we found out TODAY that it was denied and he will be coming home in less than 2 weeks! I just wanted to share that with you since I know you pray for our troops and their families. God bless!

  18. Just checking in and letting you know we are continuing to pray for you and Dwight! Can't wait to read that you are home!

    Blessings,
    Jenn

  19. I was praying for Dw in the middle of the night again last night. God is good to wake us up to pray!! Thinking of you on that long drive through Nebraska (we've done that one MANY times).

    Blessings,
    Sarah

  20. Oh Jesus, you are so faithful to carry us when we can't walk in our own strength!
Thank you for working miracles in this family's life. Thank you Jesus that NO WEAPON formed against them will prosper and that in ALL things YOU are at work for their good!
    You are faithful!
I continue to petition you Father for complete and total healing…restoration of Dwight's health, for their home being rebuilt, for EVERYTHING that the enemy has stolen to be restored in Jesus' name and to YOUR glory!
I ask for Your favor to surround them as a shield Lord as they make the long trek home and for you to be a very present help in their time of need. I pray for Dwight's liver to be healed completely in the name of Jesus with no trace of Hep A! Be glorified as you give these precious kids of yours a mighty testimony to let the world know of your MIGHTY love and power to save! And Father, please bring Jubilee home soon so that she too may know of this great love!

  21. Linny…I was offline for two days and was overjoyed when I got back on today and saw that you are HEADING HOME with Dw!!! What a miracle that God has made his numbers fall every day! YAY GOD! Continuing to pray!

  22. praying praying praying praying. Thank you in advance, Jesus, for providing Linny and her precious family with all their needs in the days ahead according to your glorious riches!

  23. Rejoicing that y'all are on your way home! Carie said you're staying in Co. Springs tonight.
We leave in the a.m. so won't have a chance to see you again this trip.
Know that your family is always in our thoughts and prayers!
As we regretfully head back to HOT Texas, our hearts stay here because it's so where we want to be.
We love The River Church…love the people…love y'all.
Carie will keep us updated and we will certainly continue to pray for Dwight's TOTAL healing!

  24. Still praying…God please be with our bloggy friends as they travel…give DW healing, give them all a peace, watch over their car & the cars around them…..give healing to Isaiah's legs, comfort for those at home, and just miracles that we can't even see be done for this beautiful family that seeks to serve you!!!!

  25. I don't often post, but I read regularly, and we have been praying for you all, too. People at our small church might think I am crazy for calling out a family that I only know "of" on the Internet, but that's ok. I pray those last 800 miles go quickly and that Dw can rest more.

  26. Praying for you and your hubby every time the Lord puts you both into my head. Just ready your Tweet about his fever. I'm saying lots of prayers that it goes away quickly and that he gets some relief soon.

    ~Amy

  27. I've been praying and praying. Glad to hear you all are on your way home. I just saw on your twitter that his temp was up. I hope it goes down. I'm praying!
