Thank you

Thank you to all who have posted comments and prayed for the Gulvas family. Your prayers are buoying them at this most difficult time. Please don’t stop. The Memorial Service will be in a few days, after Josh’s body is transported home.

Even for me, I have just been unable to write these last couple of days. The grief of September 11, 2009 profoundly affected all that were there. My heart has been so heavy. Losing a child is every parent’s worst fear. I have been with people shortly after they have heard their child has died, but never with parents when they have learned that their child has just been killed. ‘Horrible’ does not describe it.

Many of you have asked me if there is any way for you to let Josh’s family know that you care and that you are praying. I talked with them yesterday and they would be so touched to hear from you. This traumatic event completely blindsided them. The pain is excruciating. To know that Christians, literally around the world, have been praying would be a sweet balm from the Lord.

I will have an address for you soon.

PS. I am working on a post to tell you about something fun we are going to do next week.

  1. Linny–I found your site recently and am awed by your sweet spirit and tender heart. I've given you the Honest Scrap award and hope you'll participate so I can get to know you better. Come over to my blogspot and get to know me too.

  2. I would love to write them to let them know we have been praying. I won't lie…Josh has been in my head for days…I pray for them every time I think of him. My heart aches for his family.

Looking forward to your FUN post. We all need it 🙂 I better stop right here, or I'll ruin the surprise!

  3. I had not been on for a few days and last night to come to your site and read about this precious family and the loss of their son..it broke my heart.

My prayers are with the Gulvas family as they mourn thier son.

Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Hebrews 13:5 “…God has said, “I will never leave you or forsake you.”
