One Step Closer….

Oh yeah, baby…..Last Monday Miss Elizabeth Mercy declared that she was done with diapers! Yippee Jesus!!

We ran (literally) to WalMart and found her long-awaited Princess undies – she couldn’t have been more tickled. She kept saying, “Elijah cannot wear my Princess panties.” Don’t worry little Miss Princess Elizabeth – Elijah will most definitely not be wearing your princess panties!! =)

Elizabeth insisted we both wear skirts to the store to get her Princess undies…

She has got to be the most loving little treasure there ever was…………we were dumping and flushing her “stuff” in the potty the other day and she quickly leaned over close to the big toilet and said, “Bye-bye Poop – I LOVE YOU!!”

And as far as being one step closer…..a certain wife clearly remembers her precious hubby saying, “We can look into who to add to our family next when these two little ones are potty-trained….”

Public Note to sweet hubby: That would make us ONE step closer! xo

PS My apologies for posting a title without anything else. I am in California with Emma as a chaperone for some of our youth girls going to the Revolve tour starting today. Jinny & I were the only ones up in the darkened room. I was typing and she walked over my power cord and the post posted and what I typed disappeared. Really didn’t do it on purpose!! Truly. I have no battery so I had wait for the whole thing to reboot and then retype it all. So it really was not my intention to torture any of you. Really. bwaahahaha..

  1. Okay- what's going on???
I'm hoping this is good news! You are such a teaser!!

There is a chance you titled this than got too busy to write and are planning to come back and put us out of our misery…

    I'll keep checking back!

  2. I love the picture! What a sweet story… my hubby said something similar too… and we too are wearing big boy "underwears" most of the time… we are getting there!

  3. Well wait- you were ALREADY on the path to Jubilee before Elizabeth was potty-trained (heck, before you brought them home) so that means another little one! 😉 How exciting for Elizabeth!! It's SUCH a relief when they pottytrain!

  4. Way to go Miss Elizabeth!!!! And Linny if you need any help finding that "next one" I have about 20 "kids" on my short list I'd love to bring home and would be over the moon happy to see one of them in your home–lol!!!

  5. How exciting!!! And I had to laugh about the "Elijah can't wear my panties" comment because Itty Bit has been taught by his little girlie cousins that they're called "panties", not underwear. Which means that our little guy has to tell everyone he's wearing "big boy panties", LOL 🙂 Congrats Miss Elizabeth!

  6. LOL!! I thought EXACTLY that…she's TORTURING us again! (giggle)

You go, Miss Elizabeth! One down, one to go, Jubilee to bring home…and then who knows what God has planned? Only God…and it will be GREAT, because HE is great!

Check your email Linny, I sent you a surprise!

    Hugs…Nancy in CT

  7. oh, YAY….for elizabeth AND for one step closer! =) our ellie declared the same thing last week and totally waved and goodbye'd HER stuff, too!! ; )

also, i'm doing my first Memorial Box Monday post, but it will be up tomorrow! yes, i know that doesn't really fit, but i've been telling our adoption story the last few days and the part of the story that comes next just HAS to go into the Memorial Box that we're starting. it is about OUR Elijah from Sanyu! =)

so thankful for you and your family.

  8. Oh my goodness—-terribly tease.

Oh, and now that we ALL know what Dw said–well, I guess we have to hold him accountable for his words. Gotta love a public blog with a bunch of woman that NEVER forget, huh????

  9. I'd like to be a fly on the wall when you get two steps closer (wink, wink)!! I'd love to see and hear DW's reaction to that 🙂 !! Blessings

  10. You are such an inspiration to all you come in contact with in person or through your blog. I love reading your blog and hearing how our God is miraculously working in your families lives.
I can't believe you are in California so close to me. If you have time, I would love to meet you and the girls you have with you. My husband and I work with youth at our church.
I pray that God will bring Jublilee home very soon to be with her long awaited family.
Thank you for the blessing you are,

    Teresa

  11. Yeah, thanks Elizabeth! For that Giant step forward!! So glad to following you on this journey. It brings excitement to me to be happy for you, does that make any sense, sounds weird the way I wrote it. Emmie's screaming for her goodnight bottle, I'm sure you understand what I'm trying to say.

  12. Just blog hopping and wanted to let you know that I think you have a very beautiful family – and it would be awesome if you would continue to grow it bigger when your youngest are toilet trained! 😛

    Peace.

  13. Yes, yippee Jesus! I'm so happy for you. Really, I am. I am continuing to wipe stinky bottoms…two to be exact. Benjamin has regressed and Hudson still has no desire to wear big boy under pants. Nope. None. It stinks, I tell ya. 🙂
