Isaiah Turns 6 – Thankful Forever That He’s Ours

For 3 years and 8 months he waited….sleeping here for the last six months of his wait……Little did he know…..that on the other side of the world, a momma was crying out to God for more kids….and little did she know that He was working (behind the scenes) on both their behalves…..
Until one day she and her husband and kids saw this picture…
Although it would be fun to say, “The rest is history”….
BUT that’s not how the story goes….
because instead there was a time of great trial….
where Ch*na started by saying “yes” and then Ch*na changed their decision and said, “Absolutely NOT!”….
You can read the unbelievable story here.
But as big and powerful as Ch*na is – they still BOW to Almighty God and His authority….because after 11-1/2 weeks of intense prayer and fasting around the world – begging God to move on Ch*na’s heart….they reversed their decision
and now we can say, “the rest is history”…..
And on August 4th, 2008 this is the first glimpse
we had of our precious treasure….
And this mama’s heart sang….. And he became another Colorado Cowboy….

And today we celebrate Isaiah Samuel turning 6 years old….

Starting with breakfast in bed…..

Ice skating this afternoon….
and Ch*nese food for dinner…..
But everyday we celebrate the Miracle-working,
Mountain-moving, Awe-inspiring, Gasp-giving God
who has the power to move the communist hearts of a powerful government so one little boy can have a family forever….and an eternity with Jesus Christ…and here is the day I told y’all that Isaiah did it – He asked Jesus to come into His heart….
the best day for sure!!
Wish him happy birthday with me, will ya?

  6. Oh!! Happy birthday sweet Isaiah!!! He has this light about him, so sweet. And that picture of him walking toward you? Oh my! Tears every time!!

I also know you don't really remember me, but I emailed you about a year ago, or so, asking what I could do about my husband's anti-adoption heart. Well, I just thought I would update you – we just submitted our LOI for a gorgeous 4 year old little girl waiting in China! WOO HOO!

  11. I am just in tears. Look at his eyes Linny… can you see the difference between when he realized that God had given him a family? (How can you not?)

I'd only ever seen pictures of Isaiah with a smile from ear-to-ear… those were so sad for me, those early pictures.

Yet they bring so much gratefulness that you have found him, he has found you, and Isaiah found Jesus! 🙂

I cannot wait to party with y'all. Wish that boy the happiest birthday from Rachel & Mr. Daddy and Itty Bit!

  12. Happy, Happy Birthday Isaiah!! 6 is a BIG BIG birthday. Our Katie had her 6th birthday as her very first one home with us and so we know how important it is to be 6!
Hope you had a fantastic, spiderman kind of a day!
    Big Birthday Wishes from Japan!

  13. Hey there Isaiah,

Happy Birthday. We helped your mommy pray you to your forever home. Sometimes on my birthday I get breakfast in bed too.

One day, years ago my two little girls brought Julie and me some breakfast in bed. They fixed it themselves. It was uncooked, rice, with raisins and coconut mixed in they also gave us toast. It was delicious. Have a WONDERFUL time ice skating today.

  14. I am crying after reading the story of your Isaiah's adoption. Our son Isaiah turned 8 almost two weeks ago and he also has an amazing story of how God saved him. We adopted him from our state foster care system when he was a little over two. We had read that Isaiah means "the Lord will save" and that could not be more true of our Isaiah and yours. I especially appreciated what you wrote about how you did not trust that you were hearing God correctly when He spoke to you. God has been speaking to me lately and it is hard to trust. Your blog uplifts me in my journey to have a closer relationship with Jesus.
    Thank you!
    Amy
Mom to Isaiah and Susu (my little girl from China who God also moved Mountains to bring home)

  15. Such cute pictures of such an adorable little cherub! Happy Birthday to Isaiah!
His story really ministered to me when I needed it! He (and you) gave me a lot of hope when we were adopting Elina and were told "no". Thanks for being so willing to share!

  16. Happy Birthday Isaiah!!!
Your Isaiah always reminds me so much of our Levi. In fact whenever Levi sees his picture he asks, "Is that me?"
They are both quite handsome young men!!!

  17. Happy, Happy 6th Birthday precious Isaiah! Oh how I love to read about the mountains the Lord moved to bring you home to your mama and daddy! Oh how he loves you Isaiah! I just know that big smile of yours makes Jesus smile even bigger!! I hope your birthday was a special one, just like you!!

    Love from Texas~

  18. Happy 6th Birthday Isaiah!!!! Bryson is right behind ya, ready to celebrate his 6th, hoping the two of you can play together this year!

You know who mentioned last night something about taking a position in Boulder. He said at least "you know who and you would be in the same state!"

    He's thinking of ya!

  19. Oh, I just LOVE that little boy! And I believe I started reading your journal/blog, whatever it was back then, when you were in Ch*na getting him! So I can't believe he's 6 years old already!! My how time flies. Happy birthday, Isaiah! We love you!

  20. Happy birthday sweet heart. My Luke loves to look at the pictures of you that your mom puts on the blog. He always wants to meet you so you can be friends. Maybe that can happen some day. Hope you have a very special day!

  21. Isaiah, two of your LangFang 'sisters' wish you a happy birthday today! They are five and seven. Their American names are Sarah and Chayah; their Chinese names are Lu Hua and Duo Duo(sounds like dwa dwa).
They remember the blue cribs where they also slept and the courtyard outside where they played. Now they love Jesus, too, like you, and they want to go back to China to tell everyone about Him.
Love from Sarah and Chayah and their family

  22. Happy Happy Birthday Isaiah, all the way from England! Have you read the Winnie The Pooh poem about being six? Six is a very special age, it means you get to use 2 hands when you show people how old you are!!!

Ice Skating sounds like a lot of fun. I hope you weren't as wobbly as me! And Chinese food sounds like the PERFECT dinner for a very special boy!

    Happy Happy Birthday!!!

  23. I'm late because I wasn't on the computer.

Happy Birthday sweet little man. May you grow into everything God has planned for you. You are definitely a treasure to your family. Im so happy God moved a giant so you could come home to your forever family. It's so neat watching you grow. Hugs

  24. Happy birthday, Isaiah! You are a most precious child of God, and I know He has such wonderful plans for you 🙂

Big hugs from this big family to yours 🙂

  25. Happy, Happy birthday to my sweet miracle boy! You have a special place in my heart and two of my daughters are yours Hope Healing Home sisters. Many blessings on your life, sweet boy.

  26. Just catching up on my favorite blogs and had to stop and wish Isaiah a happy birthday! I hope your birthday was fantastic. Your smile is so infectious! I know I always smile when I see you smiling in your pictures!

    Hugs,
    Robin
