Uncle Mark’s Arrived!

We decided to throw a little party to welcome Uncle Mark. We wanted him to be able to go to church and already have some friends. We had dinner and then cake and ice cream. We prayed for him and sang, “For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow”…..(which he was tickled to pieces about)…

Thank you Jesus for Autumn’s job with the airlines….we are allowed basically free flight privileges….and were able to fly Sarah home too. She needed some “home time”….and it feels so good to have her home….Yes, we love ice cream at our home….and so there were lots of options last night…..Autumn & JordanOur sweet friends, Dan and Ann….Rob & Robin Terry & Tavvy…..

Uncle Mark is adjusting beautifully. Grandma Gert is in the rehab/nursing care facility. If she can ever go home, Mark will probably go back. She will need 24/7 care IF she can ever go home. If she can’t, Mark is here to stay, although he will go back to visit. In the meantime, Mark is here getting used to being away from the only home he has lived in for the last 70 years. He was very used to be waited on 24/7, but I told him that since we have so many little people living here, I would really need him to pitch in! Yesterday he cleaned off the counter and wiped it down – without even being asked. I was soooo proud of him!!We have known for many years that we were the only viable option for a place for him to live and seriously friends – we couldn’t be happier. He is family. He fits perfectly. We have lots of fun with him. He has a real cute sense of humor and adores the kids. I know that some of you have been praying for him and the transition, because it has been so easy. (Thank you for your prayers!) Such a treasure – created in the image of Almighty God, we are so thankful that we get to have him live with us.

  1. Such a sweet man! You can just see it on Uncle Mark's face. The picture of DW looking lovingly at his brother is a very emotional picture – so beautiful!

Thanks for the post today. It really made us smile.

  2. You guys have such HUGE hearts for Jesus…you just share them with everyone! Isn't it a blessing that your new home was finished before Uncle Mark arrived so he didn't have to move twice?

  3. Welcome Uncle Mark!

Somehow… you just gotta wrangle that Tyler home and get Abby & your son-in-love back over there… for a picture that now includes a 3D Jubilee too! 🙂

  4. I think every day is a party at your house! How can it not be with all those little ones giggling!

  6. Linny,
Welcome to 'Uncle" Mark! and sooo glad Sarah is there for a while too! Have to admit one of my very favorite kind of parties is an ice cream party. SO…. I ask, hmmm…. did you by chance… have the hot fudge sauce??? (silly me, laughing, yet quite seriously a chocoholic).
I will continue to pray for DW's Mom, and all the transitions in your family. God's Peace Be With you all.
You are instruments spreading His Love!
