Children’s Hospital

We are sitting in a hotel in Denver and will be leaving in a few minutes to take Jubilee to Children’s Hospital. She will be undergoing testing the entire day and meeting with all kinds of doctors. Your prayers would be appreciated as she still understands very, very little and what she does seem to understand are the things that she has seen repeated day after day after day, time after time after time. Medical stuff and doctor stuff? Not a clue.

I will be attempting to write my Memorial Box Monday post during the day. I am so excited to hear your stories as well!!

  1. Praying for you today dear one, and for your Jubilee–that the Lord would give her peace and understanding in the midst of all that she faces today. Praying for baby Luke, and for Lynsay and all, as they wait. Praying for your Autumn, too.

    Love you~

  2. Please know I'll be praying for you all day. I know how tiring/draining that process can be. Praying for wisdom & insight for every medical staff member, for peace, patience and encouragement for you, and calmness & understanding for your sweet girl!

  3. Lord,
I pray for sweet Jubilee right now. Thank you for what a preciuos girl she is, thank you that you know every hair on her head. Lord I pray that you would be her Comforter today. She may not understand much language right now but I have no doubt that she understands you and the Holy Spirit…speak to her deeply today. Bring her Peace that passes all understanding, bring her Joy beyond measure.

I also pray for Linny as she walks with Jubilee through all of this. Give her your comfort. Give her ears to hear what the doctors are saying and words to speak as she advocated for ther daughter.

I pray for Your wisdom to saturate the minds of the doctors, nurses and everyone who comes in contact with sweet Jubilee today. May they also see your glory in her beautiful smile!

  4. You and Jubilee are in my prayers.
Children's Hospital is one of the best in the nation, so you are in good hands – but of course you all are in God's hands and that is the best place of all. I live in the Denver area, and hear many wonderful stories of the great work that is done in that hospital. I have been following your blog for a long time, but I don't think I've ever left a comment. You have inspired and touched me and am in awe of all that our wonderful God has done in your family.
I welcome you to my blog: http://blossomsandbutterflies-verlyn.blogspot.com/

  5. Praying for you and for sweet Jubilee. Also for clarity on the part of the docs as for the most efficient treatment plan if there is one needed. I just hate to see things dragged out for our kiddos. Better to be miserable and get it all over once, than to have to endure multiple visits.

    Hugs!

  6. Linn,

I'm praying for sweet Jubilee. I see she has hearing loss. The discovery of this may make a huge difference in her life. No wonder she doesn't understand much. She doesn't hear it. I'm praying that they can find her some hearing aids and that it will improve her quality of life. (not that she doesn't have great quality of life already)

  7. Hey Linny!
Your name seems to be coming out of my mouth a lot lately…your life and experiences seem to be offering me guidance and hope for friends in need.
Friends of ours recently lost their home in a fire. I immediately thought of you and asked Angel to please consider contacting you. I just know that your story and your faith would lift her up…I'm praying that she asks me for your contact information soon.
And then on Sunday….low and behold…our Pastor's wife comes to me and says that they too feel called to adopt. I was the first one that they told!!! WOW! How exciting is that!!!
Then…in the very next breath, Sherry says that they feel called to adopt but have no idea how they are going to afford to do so.
You'll never believe who came to my mind at that very moment. Oh yes….none other than LINNY!!! I told her about you and your family (right about this time her husband was starting the sermon and there we are chatting it up in the back of the room)and how you guys have adopted many children on a Pastor's salary. Of course, I can't answer her questions about how one goes about adopting on such a limited budget. My husband built a house for profit, we refinanced our home, and our church family took up a collection for us without being asked to do so. That's how we funded our adoption. I'm no help to her…other than through prayer…and guiding her to people like you.
So, I ask you because I know that you would be an amazing resource as a Pastor's wife and adoptive mom, if I can give your email address to Sherry? I don't have your email address…I even tried to find you on Facebook once before but was unsuccessful. I seem to have forgotten your last name 😉
Anyway, would it be ok if you gave me your email address so that I could give it my Pastor's wife? Or could I give you her contact information so that you could email her? Either way…
Thanks so much, Linny!! You're the best!

  8. I said a prayer for Jubilee this morning knowing that this would be a difficult and frightening day for her. I hope it wasn't too hard on you all. Looking forward to your Memorial Box post when you have the time! 🙂

  9. Linny,
I pray that as you go through the tests with Jubilee that God will hold you closer than every. I pray that you will never forget his incredible love for you – even while you wait.

I forget sometimes that he loves me. He never forgets.

    Hugs,
    Karen
