Some Crazy Love in Our Home

A couple of weeks ago I threw down the challenge with this post called Crazy Love and many of you went for it. Forty-five of you shared needs. Many of you responded to the needs – thank you, thank you, thank you – and just for the record, it’s not too late to partake on the “giving” end. All you have to do is click on the purple highlighted words above and then click on different links at the bottom of the post. Actually, at our home, we are just getting started to give to some of the 45 on the list!!

I was wondering about this: Some of you guys might be thinking, ‘Well okay I saw the list of 45, but I don’t know these bloggy people but I know of needs right here in my own hometown or my own church or my own family.’ To which I would say, “Yup, true enough. BUT there is something amazingly exhilirating about responding to the needs of people we really don’t know. It is just downright fun – because Crazy Love says, “I see a need, I’m on it.” Crazy Love does not sit and rationalize……Hmmm, I don’t know these people. Crazy Love just does the “crazy” thing….it generously gives and gives and gives. Just like that Crazy Love God has for each of us….He generously gives and gives and gives. And somehow I just have this sneakin’ feeling that our reward is different and maybe, just maybe, greater for giving to those we don’t know.

On a separate note: I have gotten several emails from people wishing they could have listed their link because of their financial needs….so for the record….we will be doing another Crazy Love party before too long, although it might not be quite like the last. In fact my sweet bloggy friend, Deb, suggested a different type of Crazy Love party and I think we are going to go for it….it will be amazingly and fulfillingly crazy….stay tuned. =)

I was also pondering something that also would be really crazy….what if bloggy friends started tucking away a little bit of money here and a little bit of money there, for the next Crazy Love party? Can you imagine that? That would be called crazy – Crazy Love to be exact!!

On our homefront we have been talking about Crazy Love and what we can do to help with the needs on the list. The kids came up with some pretty amazing ideas on their own. We just have to run them by daddy, since he’s the boss. We have been reading through the 45 listed {we are so slow!} and praying for the folks needs and asking God which ones to help with.

We prefer the snail mail way of giving, so we are going to be mailing some gifts to some people out there in bloggy land. In the meantime, the little guys {and Uncle Mark} have been coloring some pictures to put in with the gifts we send.

Thought you might want to see their love in action.

This picture Isaiah drew….he told me that that’s an airplane

and a lady falling out of it and that a shark waiting for the lady.

Reall niiiiiice dude.

Crazy love?

Ummmm, still workin’ on understandin’ Crazy Love…although to him it might be more like “Scary Love”…….
A banana by Elizabeth….

Jubilee working hard to make her famous ‘sunshines’….
Uncle Mark gettin’ in the action….
And Elijah put a little extra special lovin’ of his own on one…. so if you should be the one to get his
consider yourself extra loved by him…

So we’re slowly workin’ away at getting our envelopes ready {we are probably the pokiest bunch in the world, no doubt} and we pray that ever so slowly these little guys are starting to learn just exactly what Crazy Love is all about…

By the way…..if you have any ideas for a Crazy Love blog party…..drop a comment, k?

  1. Your post just touched me so much. To know that you have taken the time to read through each and every post and need. THEN to have your peeps draw pics and make cards. Just FAB!

  2. Thanks you so much for hosting Crazy Love! I was one who posted my link on it! And the Lord has been so good! I got a letter in the mail today from a Crazy love person! And ..I have made a new friend through it as well!!
Thank you thank you thank you!

  3. Linny!
I have been slowly working my way through the Craz Love links too! I has been so incredible to meet' so many of Jesus' precious friends!
I had been praying about how to use my little nickels (things are tight at our house)…and God has answered it in such a huge way!!! Some of us in the adoption community are working together to create a blog that lists all of the adoption fundraisers, prayer needs and stories of God's awesome miracles as He brings children into homes!!!! I do not have much money but Go knows that I love to write and am at home with the munchkins so I can!!!!!
    SOOOO exited!!!!

  4. Just a suggestion but the next time you post one of Isaiahs pictures you need to hold off to the very end. I laughed so hard I almost couldn't make to the end of the post. Now that was funny! Maybe the special person who recieves that precious picture will find great amuzement like I did.
I like the idea of Crazy Love but I love the action of Crazy Love. I think that when we give to others that is the closest thing to an earthly reward we can recieve.
That is the very goal that my husband and I have been striving for. To be able to become debt free so that we can give more.

  5. I did a crazy thing and sent a small gift to someone I didn't know…and it blessed me beyond words! We have been emailing back and forth and sharing ideas with each other about adoption, creativity and God's love…and last week someone did something completely crazy and blessed ME with the same amount I had just given away! Is that CRAZY or what?
    I love God! 🙂

  6. I too, laughed so hard at your Elijah AND Isaiah (we have one of each of those too btw, and MY E and I keep me laughing like that all the time) I love that they are all getting involved. Mark too! So great. Your girlies are adorable as well. We are so poky too when it comes to mail. I LOVE getting and giving gifts in the mail, but it seems to take forever to get to the stinking post office! I will be rolling the idea of crazy love party around in my head and heart.

  7. btw, sunshine and bananas are great sources of joy around here. lol and the shark… um, trying to see that perfect love casts out all fear maybe?? lol and yeah, get a little licking and some realy DNA involvement is so awesome. lololol I will be giggling the rest of the day.

  8. maybe that shark is waiting to save the lady and bring her to shore safely. = ) because of your crazy love we are 50 dollars closer to our girls (who all have special needs). The thing that I find so amazing is that these are strangers to me. My neighbors? the ones I live next to and lead their kids in scouts or help them in 4H or babysit them or my husband stays late to call them or help them with their medical problems, those people? gave us nothing on our last adoption and are awe struck to think we are adopting again. They dont get it. adoption is crazy love at its best. so thanks for helping us with your crazy notion of love. ps if this is crazy I never wanna be sane.

  9. Love it. We are on our second adoption journey and I know how amazing it is not only to give to others I don't know and watch the Lord multiply those funds but I've also been on the receiving end of that crazy giving and know how humbling it is yet what an incredible testimony of Gods provision that shows as well. Thank you for posting this, I may link back to you in a future post soon. 🙂

  10. Linny,

You and your family put so much sunshine and love in the world. Thank you for opening us all up to Crazy Love. You are a blessing and I know my life won't be the same.

  11. CRAZY LOVE! We just read the book and we are in. Let me know about the Crazy Love Blog Party–I would love to be invited, hehe 🙂

By the way, I saw that you have 999 followers and I have not added myself, so, I thought it would be fun to do so now-number 1000!

  12. Thank you for thinking of others with Crazy Love and teaching us along with your gifts from God (your beautiful children) what it means. Because of Crazy Love a lady named Jen (who is fund raising to pay for her 2nd adoption) donated a skirt for us to raffle off. WOW!
I have given to others without wanting or expecting to be repaid but, God keeps helping us along the way. I am so grateful for the beautiful women whom God has put in our lives who have shown such compassion and such Jesus to each other! WOW!

  13. Thos pictures crack me up. Isaiah is just the funniest kid. Love it.

Crazy Love was one of the best things we've done in the past months. We loved doing it and I can't wait until the next one. It's also been so much fun watching was God is doing in our lives because of this Crazy Love. Hugs

  14. Linny….
I just had to write and tell you of something God has done. He prompted me to give, more than I thought that I could. So just this morning I did. I spent the morning mulling this all over with God and thanking Him for what I do have. I was ok with us doing beans & rice. I had really wanted to plant some tulips and some other plants in our garden this month…but decided to just be thankful with what we have. Well…after Georgia's nap I opened our door and found food ( a relative decided that she didn't like that brand) and a planter full of tulips!!!! I had told NO ONE!!!! Then, for icing on the cake…I walked out to our compost pile to find the very plants I had been wanting (Trillium) growing wild for the first time ever!!!!!
    Isn't He amazing????

  15. I still haven't made it through the entire list of families – links.

If you ever think about posting about these topics, I'd appreciate it.
    1. How do you handle SNs / therapies with HSing? Do you just learn enough to get your kids through the biggest hurdles or use school contracted services? Or just prayer? Private therapy – like PT/OT, Speech and any other kind? I have to visionally impaired boys I HS plus a clp affected child and two others with speech issues.

    2. How do you cut costs with a large family? We live frugally but want to cut more costs and live on less so we can give more. God's been working wonders in this area but I thnk He has more to teach us.

    3. More about listening to God. 😀
I'm finding I better be writing this stuff down when He talks or I can forget topics in all the chaos here some days.

    4. Organizing time? And I don't even have a job outside the home but dh works two jobs which puts nearly everything here on me – don't mind at all. He provides the way he can. He works the seoncd job to afford tithing practically. I wish God would make one job enough for us – we live very frugal – V.E.R.Y F.R.U.G.A.L.

Crazy Love Blog Party? Can you do a certain amount of links each time and just do several CL blog parties?
