Dw’s Health

Yesterday I tweeted that Dw was sick. I had spoken to him a few hours after they landed in Africa. I was expecting to hear the voice of my cheery husband, but the second I heard him I knew something was dreadfully wrong. He was sooo sick he could hardly talk. That is NOT my husband!! My hubby is a hard-working man! He does circles around all his much younger counterparts with his endless energy!! Hey, just two summers ago, at the age of 53 he was asking if we could bring home 2 more toddlers – ages 1 and 2. The guy is unbelievable and his heart for the orphan is humongous!!

Anyway, so yesterday morning when I heard his voice, I couldn’t believe it. Being together for 34 years, I know my man – and this was worse then just a little stomach virus.

I prayed all day and tweeted asking others to pray. I did not hear from the team the rest of the day and today I kept praying they would be able to call or contact. Finally{!} he called. When I heard his voice again it actually scared me. He said that they had taken him to the doctor and the doctor feels he picked up a bacteria from the food on the plane.

Okay friends, let me tell you, 14 team members flying…and he is the only one sick? Yeah, that just doesn’t make sense. I am convinced that the enemy of the orphan, the enemy of seeing people meet Jesus Christ, the enemy of pastors wants to my husband sick and unable to minister in Uganda. Period.

We had a sobering discussion. I prayed over the phone for him and I prayed with power! God’s word says that we can come boldly to the throne of grace because of the precious blood of Jesus….and I prayed with passion.

Would you please pray for my husband’s healing? He is an effective tool in the kingdom of God. He wants to see orphans find families. He wants to see pastors live with passion and purity, tenderly loving their wives and families {he is teaching a pastor’s conference on Monday and Tuesday} and he wants to see the team members with him have their hearts broken for the things that break God’s heart.

He told me that someone in Africa had contacted their church in America and a prayer chain was activated. If you have a prayer chain at your church, would you please consider adding Dw’s name to it? And sweet bloggy friends, you guys are my prayer chain. I don’t quite understand exactly how prayer and when God chooses to answer works – but this I know – God absolutely loves when the body of Christ – all over the world join together praying for one specific thing….so would you pray for his complete and instant healing? I promise to keep you posted.

  8. I am lifting DW and you up in prayer for healing. The enemy of our Lord does attack those who follow Christ…it seems if he cannot attack their commitment to Christ in their faith he goes after their bodies~ i have seen it time and time again in those in ministry and mission work including both my husband and myself…May God wrap his loving arms around your husband and bring healing so quickly that it will open the eyes of those in need of Jesus…I am adding you both to our daily prayers as you do the work of our Lord.

  10. Prayed for Dwight and his team, that He will send His angels to minister to Dw and that the shining presence of the angels and their single word, "YHWH rebuke you" will cause all the powers of darkness to flee, because Yahushua (Jesus) already gained victory. Also for Dw to be healed of what is ailing him so that he may continue His work.

  11. lifting up your DW and the team and praying against that dumb-ole enemy.
i'm praying that God's story will continue to be manifested, even through weakness and illness.

i rebuke whatever bacteria is trying to interfere with all DW and God are trying to achieve in Africa.

blessings to you as you pray and wait.

  12. Praying!! I believe the enemy is attacking, and God is so much bigger than the darts that satan is throwing. I'm already praising our Lord for how he is using DW and how He is going to continue to use him to defend the orphan. Tell your man to hang in there, there is many prayers going up and we can't wait to praise Him for the healing and the work that DW is going to do in Africa.

  13. You are so right that out of a whole plane of people HE is the one to get sick??? Not a mere random event! That actually gets my blood boiling! Satan is a great enemy, but our God is greater still!

Praying for God to make this a good thing and to over come!!!

    Irrr… still irritated!

  14. I don't know you but my friend Erica Subin posted to her facebook page asking for prayers for DW. She included a link to your blog. I was led to read. I don't normally offer advice but I feel compelled to. I am study for my Naturopathic Doctorate so healing with God's natural things is part of what I have learned. If your husband or his traveling companions can get a hold of some coconut oil this should help him – it is antibacterial and antiviral. 1 – 3 Tbs a day can help increase his immunity.

I am praying that the Great Physician will heal him.

  15. Praying now! Yeah, Satan can try stuff, but he's already lost! Can't wait to see all the awesome things God does through Dw and the rest of the team in Uganda.

  16. Oh Linny,

We will certainly continue to pray for Dw, for you, and for your family. This is certainly spiritual warfare and the enemy is pulling out his big guns. Praise God, His guns are bigger. We will certainly enlist our army of prayer warriors.

    Much Love,
    Kathie

  17. Praying and believing in his healing and I will be adding him to our prayer list at church in the morning.

As I type this I am listening to "Mighty to Save" and knowing that He is mighty to heal!

  18. I am praying for Dw's health and well being and praying for you as well. I'm sure it's hard for you being here and him there.
Learned about this on Facebook from friend Erica. Nice blog and love your family. So dear! May you sense God's peace and presence right now.

  19. Linny,
Praying for that instant and complete healing… May the Lord use him on this trip to do amazing things for the Kingdom… Praying for peace for your heart as well. It is hard to be so far away!

  20. Linny,

I am praying for your husband. You wrote something today that has been on my heart, that is when we all come together and pray one specific thing. I am working on a post for my blog about that. I was wondering if you would join with me in setting aside June 1 (Children's Day in China) to pray/fast for God's will among us to take care of orphans. I would like to talk with you more about about. Maybe a Crazy Love Challenge?

  21. I just prayed for your husband and will continue to pray. I also prayed for you strength during this difficult situation of being so far away from him.
    Blessings,
    Amy
