Answered Prayer!!

Well that was one of the funnest anniversaries we’ve ever had. We found a really festive chair for our grandson. Wow. Just so fun saying that. Our grandson. Yippee Jesus!! Abi and Ryan are doing the baby’s room in that 60’s look…so the orange will go perfect.

Remember when rooms were either pink or blue or yellow? Orange. Perfect. For our grandson. hmmm. Just had to say it again. This Mimi was telling everyone yesterday…..I couldn’t help myself. Thirty-two years married and finally someone little is joining our family, forever.
Here’s the orange chair. I texted Abi the picture with my sandal so she could see about how big it was. Isn’t it darling? Yes. It’s for my grandson – from his Mimi. Ha. Got to say it again.

I know many of you have been praying about insurance for us. We were sitting on the porch this morning, all of us, big people sipping coffee and soem eating “kitchen sink” pie {pie made of pears, peaches and cherries} when Dw got a phone call. He stepped inside the house so he could hear better. Before long he came out, literally, bawling. Like sobbing.

Dw’s been working for weeks trying to appeal our insurance’s decision to drop us. He had to talk to zillions of people. Send tons of paperwork. Then they would call and say, “we need this”…and he would say, “I already sent that to this person….” Really, it was a like a crazy circus of calls, FAXs, letters, official documents. {You’d have thought we were trying to join the CIA!}…..

Anyway, when he came out on the porch he could barely talk….they had called to say that they had re-instated it. Precious relief. Faithful God. Diligent husband. Even, finally, a health insurance broker working non-stop on our behalf. Amazing. God, you are so good. Thank you to all who prayed. Thank you, thank you, thank you. The next step is for me to find a surgeon. A really experienced surgeon.

On a different note: the other day Isaiah was playing. He came to me on the porch. He didn’t want anyone to see him. My camo boy. Thought you’d love it too.

Made me laugh.

And lastly, the other day I was making lunch. It had been a rather dull, non-spectacular day. Elijah walked in the kitchen and said, “Mom, you’re a really crazy mama.” I said, “WHAT DID YOU SAY?” He repeated the same thing. No clue what prompted that. And I hadn’t even just climbed down from curtsying on the kitchen chair. Maybe he was being prophetic cause….

.. Yesterday I decided to do something crazy. Really crazy. With basically no notice. It would be called spontaneous or maybe even borderline psycho. My bigger kids said, “Wow, this is really crazy. You didn’t even plan it or anything. Like, really?”

I hope and pray that one day my kids will look back and say, “That mama of ours, now she was crazy. She loved making memories so much that she didn’t want anyone ever to remember her as “normal”. That she was indeed crazy. Really. Truly crazy.” And that forever they will laugh as they remember this crazy thing I am about to do with them. And if you’re up for guessing, go for it.

Cause I’m not telling till tomorrow. =)

  3. The more pictures I see of your porch, the more I want to come spend time on it!!! Its my one request to my husband… whatever house we buy or build must have a nice country porch.

And I'd guess but it'd be cheating LOL. So I won't.

I am going back to bead. Wondering what crazy thing you did. If you were Adeye I would know it involved paint. but you are Linny…hmmmmmmmm……? I hope you didn't buy an RV 😉

  8. Rejoicing in your insurance news! It immediately brought to mind the K-Love (radio) verse of the day today–

"You thrill me, Lord, with all you have done for me! I sing for joy because of what you have done."
    ~ Psalm 92:4, NLT

I am thrilled!! Thank you Jesus that DW did not give up. Thank you for the diligent insurance broker who worked on Dw and Linny's behalf. Thank you Lord for favor! Thank you Lord for re-instated health insurance! Thank you! Thank you!! Thank you!!!

The orange chair for your GRANSDON is adorable, MIMI!! Oh I can see the smile on your face from Texas! Giggles, and more giggles!

I love Isaiah's camo–he looks quite serious about it. I guess if he were grinning his big ol' Isaiah smile, it would blow his cover!

I'm stumped for guesses on the craziness . . . I started to say bungee jumping, but that would be psycho. Do tell us, crazy lady!

    Love you bunches~

  9. Praise God about the health insurance!!! He is so good to provide for the little things (like the adorable chair for your grandson), the big things (like complete healing that I'm praying for you to receive), and everything in between (like the health insurance).

I can't wait to hear about your crazy adventure. I'm a crazy mama, too, and I'm always looking for new ideas.

    Much Love,
    Kathie

  10. Oh, Mimi, your grandson is going to love his chair. And he will look so handsome with his luscious against that orange! Do Abi and Ryan have a name picked out or are they going to wait until they meet him to decide? I had to meet my babies before I could pick a name. God is so good, you have insurance again and He will find the perfect surgeon for you. Maybe it will be in Minnesota, and then I could bring you treats and meet you!
Praying for you and your big, crazy, wonderful family always and yours is the first blog I check in the morning!

  11. Woohoo! You know I am stinkin excited about the insurance!!!!!

  12. I guess our Dad must have sold a few of those cattle on the hill???? LOL
such great news about the insurance.

Isaiah has a good idea going, but I think he could use just a little cammo paint for his face…

    Just saying….

I had to laugh about Jean's comment on the really big shoes or really small chairs….LOL, ROFL

  14. oh, praise the Lord!!! i'm so happy to hear about the insurance. i have to tell you that 2 mornings ago, while in the shower, i thought, "WAIT. i'm supposed to pray about something else for Linny." it usually involves your family, future treasures and your health, but i knew there was something else. my brain wasn't working that morning yet, but i thought and though. it came to me and i was SO happy to have that to pray for. it just felt peaceful about it all and i'm so thankful to know that God did mighty things there and it is taken care of!! i love your little family, Linny.

i don't know what your crazy thought is this time, but i can't wait to find out!

  15. Praise God about your insurance!! Encouraging news for us, another family w/o insurance right now. (Gee, there seem to be a lot of us!) And congrats on your new grandbaby! How exciting!!
