Porch Sittin’

This whole blogging thing is amazing….knitting kindred hearts together over a computer….we “met” J and C because they started stopping by A Place Called Simplicity….eventually they heard about Dw leading a team to Uganda in the summer of 2009. James signed up and went to Africa with Dw and the team last year. On the trip, he came to know Dw, Emma, Graham, Abi and Ryan.

Of course, as most of you know, they started the process of adopting two little ones from the same orphanage as our Elizabeth and Elijah are from. We have kept in contact as their adoption has had more bumps and turns than your average adoption. {Their two still wait in Africa for Canada and Uganda to clear up their legalities. Please don’t stop praying for their kids to be set free!}

Anyway, they decided to mosey out of Canada with their three kids and venture down to Colorado to spend a few days with us. We are having an absolute blast!! And here you have it….sitting on the porch sipping coffee and eating Jewish Mother Coffee Cake….

We are having so much fun we talked them into staying one more night….and if laughter is good medicine for the soul, {as scripture says}, then our souls are pretty healthy since they arrived.

And the kids are loving being together….their daughter Naleah is the exact same age as Elizabeth….how cute is that?

Off to the dentist with Miss Liberty….so Memorial Box Monday will be posted in a few hours….until then, be thinking about what you can post as your own Memorial Box Monday {hint-hint}. xo

  1. Yay, yay, yay!! I love this post the most. But what would be better… is if we were sitting next to you all on that porch! 🙂

I love how the internet can be used for God's glory and bringing His children together. Praise God!

  2. Thank you Linny, for posting I have been peeking at your blog.
James and Cheremi are our children. Please wish them a safe journey back, it is good to see they are having such a wonderful time. Oma misses them.

  3. Dear Linny, Greetings sweet bloggy friend jn the name of Jesus! I want to send you this scripture. Zephaniah 3:17 from NIV The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save.He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing. Sending you, Dewight, and your precious treasures lots of love, Janet Montrose Co.

  4. What a sweet visit–so happy that you were able to spend time with James and Cherami, and they with you! Praying for their babes, that their heartache will soon be turned to JOY! I can tell by James and Cherami's faces that they are precious (fun loving) folks!

Love the picture of Elizabeth and Naleah. How darn cute is that?!

    Love you, friend~

Tina . . . who finally has a new MBM story posted–and ready to link. No pressure. xo xo xo

  5. Linny,
I missed MBM this week… I guess I'm ahead for next week! 🙂

I just had to share, though… Because of a MBM post, I "met" my "best-friend-I've-never-met." Our girls have similar health issues and we find the deep heart prayer support we've always longed for in each other. I love how God uses blogs to bring people together!

One day, I hope she and I will meet face to face.

Thanks for being used by God as a catalyst of Christian love!

    Prayers for your health.
    Love,
    Karen
