Our kids ministry {River Kids} participated in the 4th of July parade….a sweet pick-up carrying a sound system which was playing some Hillsong-kids worship music and a ton of kids behind it on decorated bikes, scooters, trikes, strollers…all celebrating the birthday of our nation.
Dw and I walked with our kids….and as I’ve said before, I am the shy one…Dw is definitely not. At.all. He started to call to people we passed, while pointing to Jubilee, “It’s her first 4th of July in America!!” And people started to smile and cheer.
Well in no time Jubilee decided that all that cheering was the best…and so she started workin’ the crowd….I was unable to get great pictures of her….but seriously, it was hysterical. She waved and waved….yelling to them her version of “Happy Birthday America”….and I am sure she began to think that the parade was all about her….as Daddy told the crowd over and over that it was her first 4th of July in America….
A cute little side note: I spotted a little Asian girl on the side watching the parade as we passed. I pointed toward her for Jubilee to see someone who would remind her of herself {not a boatload of Asian kids in our little town, so I wanted to be sure Jubilee saw her}….the mom looked at me and smiled and mouthed, ” I read your blog.” Haha! I had never seen her before. So whoever you, my sweet bloggy friend, nice to “””” meet ” you….and next time, you owe me a hug!!
This brought tears to my eyes! Such beautiful children having a new chance in this wonderful country of ours! Children who would have had no life if there were not families like yours. God bless you all and God bless America!
Too stinkin' cute! Love it. π
Praying for you, sweet friend!
HOW FUN TO SEE SOMEONE IN THE CROWD OF A PARADE AND MAKE EYE CONTACT AND GET AN 'I READ YOUR BLOG!!"?

one of these days, linny⦠we're going to sip lemonade or iced tea or herbal tea or water and have a spell on a porch while we watch your kids play.
you are on my bucket list.
How sweet is that! Warmed my heart this morning – thank yoU!
That would have been me in the crowd. We were vacationing in your beautiful area. We live in Texas. Our daughter came home from Gansu 5 years ago this past July. Your blog is always such an inspiration. I always look forward to your posts. My husband thought I was crazy, when while we were watching the parade I said,"hey, I recognize those kids." Your family is even more beautiful in person!
Shawna
I know those kids!
tears for some reason! Beautiful post and I've got to say Jubilee is a beautiful girl. Her joy is evident in her face. Love it!
Wow, Shawuna and Linny–that is a cool story! Too bad you didn't get a photo!
You kill me. Make me smile and laugh daily. Thank you. By the way I keep telling my husband "I want to be like Linny when I grow up". Paul said "follow me as i follow Christ" But I want to follow Linny as she follows Christ. So Bry said "were going to need a bigger house". So I say "youre going to have to work more hours". lol. and then we giggle.
The kids are adorable- love the outfits!! Parades are so much fun- especially when you are in them!!
I just read the comments- and it was Shawna that you saw- too cool!! We all have such a great connection- through loving the Lord and loving the children!!
Precious babies….!
love the pictures!
Love the pictures of some of your very precious treasures! I am praying for you! Made a special g mail account to leave comments! Love. Janet
Gosh, Linny, If I ever see you on the streets in my town you can bet I will throw people out of the way to get a hug. Will you be in Virginia anytime soon????
Somehow each time I read your blog something just moves me.
Precious story. I remember this time last year praying for Jubilee to make it home. And now it's like she's always been in your family. That pic of Jubilee, Isaiah and Elizabeth is precious. Three of the best smiles ever.
Still praying faithfully for your health!
Much Love,
Kathie

Just happened upon your blog today and read about your current health problems… or should I say GOD'S "problem", not yours. π And I wanted to pass this along…
((((((((((((hug)))))))))))))
God bless you all.
Such a sweet post. I just returned from vacation today and caught up on your blog. Linny, if we could give you one hundred hugs across the miles from Indiana to Colorado, we would – so consider yourself hugged in a big way! π
Prayin for you, sweet friend.
