Almighty God Heard Our Prayers

Oh sweet friends, there is some magnificent news circulating blog world….the reverberations of God’s mighty hand are echoing throughout the universe!

When we fast and pray we are begging God to move, but ultimately we have to submit to His plan, His will and His care.

Yesterday I got an email from a bloggy friend. Jenn said, “You have to read this ASAP, if you haven’t already!” I had been in meetings most of yesterday, so I had not been on the internet really at all. I thought, ‘it must have to do with one of the needs we fasted and prayed for.’

Jenn’s email directed me to this post.

As I clicked there, it opened to this picture:

And here is most of the post, Julia, Aaron’s mom posted:

Praise God for answered prayer. And if you want proof that your prayers were effective, then listen to what the judge said to us in her office after a grueling 5-hour court session:

“If God led you to adopt this child, then God led me to decide in your favor.”

We would not have believed that such a thing could come out of her mouth, especially not after the way she grilled us both. But when she took off her court robes, we could see the cross hanging around her neck underneath.
By decree of the court, Aaron Vanya Nalle will be our son effective September 20, 2010. Praise the Lord!

We have much to write but will reserve it for a later blog as we are beyond exhausted at this point. We have this to share: This morning, just before we left for court, after hours of pacing, praying, practicing and reminding each other of Scriptures of hope, we checked our e-mail one last time. Here is what a dear Reece’s Rainbow friend wrote to us for our time in court:

“If you could turn around in your seat and look behind you, you’ll see hundreds of bowed heads, all of ours praying for you.”

We read those words and cried. What a beautiful picture. Based on our blog counter numbers over the last 24 hours before court, we knew that it was more like thousands of bowed heads before the throne. So when we walked into the courtroom this morning, we whispered to each other, “look for the bowed heads.”

Dear friends, we really believe that this judge would not have granted this adoption without your bowed heads. We are fairly sure that she was inclined against us at the beginning of the day. During the noon break, our facilitator Luda was preparing us for either a “no” or another delay. She was actually hoping for the “no” because she planned on appealing to a higher court, and that would have been quicker than returning to this judge again and again. Luda was pretty confident that the higher court would pass us without trouble, but it would have meant another long wait. All we could do was whisper prayers. And God heard.

Oh sweet bloggy friends, we were all part of history in the making!! Did you pray? Did you fast? You my friend, were part of the hand of God moving on behalf of a little boy. Did you see what Julia said? The facilitator was not thinking that the Judge would say ‘yes’. but Almighty God was moving. He was moving in a mighty way!

From thinking the Judge was about to tell them “”” no” or even delay them….to these words from the same Judge’s mouth:
“If God led you to adopt this child,
then God led me to decide in your favor.”

Seriously? I mean, really? Seriously? Only God. Yes! Only Almighty God – maker of Heaven and Earth!! Last night when I read it, I started to cry. Dw had just walked in the door. I said, “Whitey! One of the needs we were fasting and praying for – listen to this!” I was choking tears as I told him which need and what had happened and he started to cry. We both couldn’t even talk…we were rejoicing with tears and laughter. Oh sweet Jesus – you are amazing!!

I wrote to Julia and asked if I could share Aaron’s story. She said that I was more than welcome to. At the last minute, friends had added their story to the Crazy Love Prayer Challenge….Now listen to this….Julia said that the people who cared for Aaron at the baby home he was at had been praying from the time he was born that God would bring a family who loved Jesus to take him forever. Do you see how important the prayers for the orphan to find homes are? They were the beginning of God moving on Aaron’s behalf. Oh how God loves the orphan. Oh how He will move on their behalf – when we ask!! Prayer matters. It matters big time! It changes lives. It changes history.

And you, my friends? You can forever look back on this Crazy Love Prayer Challenge to know that you changed history!! There is a little boy, Aaron, who would thank you, if he could.

For now, I’ll do that!! So thank you!! Please don’t stop praying for the needs. I know that C, in Africa, will be going, Lord willing, to court on Monday to hear about the Judge’s ruling. He is not pro-adoption. Not.at.all. He is not favorable toward international adoption. They need a miracle – just like Aaron needed a miracle!!

I am hoping that as the days pass we will be able to tell the stories of the kids whose lives were affected by our Crazy Love Prayer Challenge….and we will celebrate around the world – from Oman to Korea to South Africa to Brazil to Alaska to Florida to Alberta to British Columbia to Southern California to Australia to England and all the other countries represented…..because we serve a

  1. Oh Linny….just now back in the blog world as I took a hiatus for about 8 months or so to listen to the Lord and to be still. It was sooo worth it because we were led to our son, Kaleb, during that time and just received PA for him. He will be our 5th child and 2nd adopted from China. We are also a ministry family and praying him home. His name is significant taken from Numbers 13 and 14 as Caleb was wholehearted in following the Lord and (as you know) only he and Joshua were given the privilege of entering the Promised Land because they knew the giants were no match for their God! We have giants, financial ones, to conquer to bring Kaleb home, but we will enter the Promised Land with friends who will help pray him home and friends who will be touched to help. Thank you for this crazy prayer challenge. I had just been thinking about doing the same thing and posting such…just before lightning struck our home last week (yes while we were waiting on PA) and fried several things including my computer (using hubby's laptop). So, the fight begins as expected. Giving the Lord praise as we walk each day to our son! And praising HIM for the answered prayers already being seen for this precious child, Aaron.

  2. yes Linny, it's amazing, praise YHWH!!! 🙂 I only just found out this morning when I thought about Aaron and how the court went, and went over to visit his mom's website. Amazing. Praise YHWH!!!! 🙂

I am starting to learn about the power of prayer…

    Mat 16:19 KJV
And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

The key is through the Son's name, Jesus (Yahushua). He alone is the way to the Father, we bring our requests to the Father through the Son.

If prayer couldn't really change things, then He wouldn't have encouraged us to pray… why does He encourage us to pray? because it does work! we present the case to Him, our requests, and He will work it out the way He wishes. Praise YHWH! 🙂

    Php 4:6 KJV
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Php 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

  3. Luke 11:9-10 (New Living Translation)

9 “And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.

    God is so good.

  4. Miss Linn, I type through tears. Tears of joy. God has again given me this unbelievable burden to pray for the orphan. Oh how God loves them. And Oh how he loves us. I will continue to pray(and fast). I can't wait to talk to you next week. My mind is rolling through different things we can do, ways to spread the word about orphan needs. Ways we can make a difference in the lives of orphans all over the world. Love you sweet friend. Thank you, Jen
