Celebrating {my birthday redo!}

Since my birthday was Tuesday and I spent most of the day at the hospital, my family thought it would be sweet to bless me with a second birthday celebration…so all day they pampered me…it was bliss.  Complete and utter bliss.
My treasures surround me…
Breakfast in bed…compliments of Emmy…
{Sweet daughter of mine…whatever am I going to do when you move to Africa??}
My kids were guessing my “wish” as I blew out my candles…
they are so totally onto me…like precisely on the money..
but I didn’t tell them, cause then they might not come true, right? =)

Dw was taking pictures, but had to be included….
So he took a picture of himself….
Present Time!
Isaiah was first.  He loves to give gifts…and he wraps them himself…
this one was wrapped in a tee-shirt and tied with a shoe lace…
seriously, what that does to my mama heart..
Look at how pleased he is…

 He gathers stuff from around the house….this time he hit the pantry and found skittles, Snickers, marshmallows and a brush from who-knows-where!!
 He even sacrificed his own will and gave me his treasured Spiderman mask….
thinkin’ about greeting at the door Sunday morning with that…add a bit of lively chatter to the service…
Maybe Dw could preach something like, “Don’t get Tangled in the Web of Sin..”
Might just work
ummmm,
maybe not…
Jubilee also gave me something….wrapped in a picnic basket…
You should have seen her posing for the picture…and she told them {in her own way}
to take a picture of her and I with her present….so stinkin’ proud to give it to me….
How cute is that?
,

 ,

,
 She gave me some cards she had made…
 And a walkie talkie and kids cell phone she found in the toy box…
I was so excited!! My favorite!!!
{Look at her!!}
 Then Graham and Ben gave me a present….they were so proud…
and I figured it had to be a joke of some kind….they are quite a pair…
 I am still dumbfounded!
They went online and bought me a beautiful shirt from White House/Black Market
I’m sure my mouth was gaping…I said, “How in the world did you pick something out from there?”
He said, “I know you love that place mom, so we went online and found it.”
Graham is not a big shopper….okay, so he rarely shops at all…so this was really, really huge…
and he and Ben were so tickled.  I call Ben my son and he calls me “Mom”…he’s a super sweet young man…and Ben’s parents are elders at our church….
 I tried it on and it fits beautifully….
“You done good boys, you done good!”
Elizabeth and Isaiah posed with me…and this is a present from Ben…a Yankee candle…
Christmas Cookie fragrance….sure hope it won’t put pounds on…{haha}

 Emma saved her present till last….
 About a month ago, Emma dressed the five little guys all up and took them out to the pasture and took pictures of them….the boys wore cowboy stuff and the girls looked like they were all getting married….
I had totally forgot she had done it….well she did it so she could give me a collage of them…
I am so stinkin’ thrilled…and she is totally taking her cues from big sis Abi and her photography…
We have not had really any pictures up in the house since the fire…so finally, finally, finally!!
I love it and have to find the perfect spot for it!!
Dw took me shopping yesterday and tried to buy me two things.
 I balked.

I hate spending any money {at all}.
{I’m sure you can guess why.}
So we came home empty handed.  Maybe next time.  {or not}
 Emma made a peppermint/chocolate ice cream cake for me…and it was so yummy!!
Note:  The numbers on the cake….looks like it says 25 to me….so that’s what I’m totally going with!

Autumn and her boyfriend came for a little bit.  Gabe {another ‘adopted’ son} was over as well….
Enjoying the festivities I totally missed taking pictures of them….so bummed I forgot!!
********
I am such a blessed woman…

My heart overflows…

God has been so good to me…
,
Giving me far more than I could ever deserve……

  1. Looks like your birthday celebration was worth waiting for. What awesome kids and hubby too! You don't look 52, so yeah, stick with the 25! And it should be "birthday week" so celebrate for a couple more days!

  2. Happy Birthday sweet friend again – I will be 25 backwards on November 30th! I think we talked about it once how we were born just weeks apart and yet God placed us on our adoption journeys to meet one day! How cool is our God?

    We can never thank you and DW for the prayers and support you give to us as we navigate our adoptions. We love you.

  11. Happy Birthday Linny,
    It looks like it was beautifully special.
    Your children are so thoughtful…you are most definitely blessed…
    I am sorry about the accident with DW…but so thankful he is doing better. He sounds like an amazing man…and as one mom who drives a van with precious cargo, I know I would have been ever so grateful for his sacrifice on my behalf.
    I will pray for him…
    C~
