Compromise

Dwight called me to the window.  The kids had run out to play for a little bit.  He wanted me to see Elijah.
Mind you…..
It’s 46 degrees out.
I called Elijah in.  He did not want to put anything else on.  {silly boy}
He said, “Can’t I wear my flipflops?  I not wear them for long time.
So we compromised.
He was in in about 15 minutes.
Guessing it might have been a tad too cold for his beloved flipper-floppers.

  1. Aaaawww! Such a sweet boy! I, too, LOVE my flip flops (sandals)and even though it doesnt get all that cold here on the East coast of FL, you WILL find me wearing my flipper-floppers in the dead of winter!

  2. Oh how I love the wisdom we have gained being a second time momma. Don't you just LOVE IT????

    Thanks for sharing. He is precious!

    Momma of an African girl who wore the same shoes when she went with me to the grocery store this morning in Colorado.

  3. It is a sad day for our whole family when we put away our flip flops!! I'm with Elijah and would wear them year round if I wouldn't freeze!! Very cute pictures!

  4. Oh, this is all too common at our house! Our Caleb(3 yrs) was out last week..BUCK naked, except for his cowboy boots;)! It was about 50 degrees out! He was helping Daddy work…hmmmmm

  5. This reminds me of our house. In the summer our boys (now grown up) used to want to wear sleepers to bed. In the winter it would be shorts and no jacket. My girls now do the same thing. Kids just don't seem to notice the weather at all. It's so funny.

  6. I love it. I love compromise, I love letting them determine what they want to do… its funny, obviously we have to give guidance but funny thing he came back in 'cause it was cold. hahah!!! My dad is from So. Cal and wears his "jackflops" all the time. We love it!

  7. My kids are the same way! As I was reading this post, my 4 year old walked by in just a pair of cotton shorts. Why he thinks that's the most comfortable thing to wear when it's 30 degrees out is beyond me.
    Love the compromise you made. : )
