Well THAT Was Embarassing….

I had to take a little break to let you
all have a bit of a chuckle with us.
So this morning second service Dw went up to preach.  Within a minute or so a lady from the congregation came heading toward me. Weird, I thought.  She leaned over and whispered, “Dw has a candy cane stuck to his bottom.”
I looked up and he turned a bit and sure enouth there was,
not just a small piece of candy cane stuck there, but about 4 inches …very awkwardly DANGLING right from the center seam.
My eyes grew wide.  I debated. What to do? ugh  I did the only logical thing I could do. Walked up on stage and leaned to whisper…but I burst out with muffled giggles unable to even talk. The thought of the candy cane pendulum swinging back and forth was just too much….eventually I was able to whisper “bee-hind” and he found it and well everyone was laughing and yeah…that was something else.
Probably won’t ever look at a candy cane the same again…

  1. After reading this, I won't look at one the same way again.

I probably would've left it there to see how long it would've taken him to notice for himself. I have fun with stuff like that. Which is something God and I should have a conversation or two about……..

  2. I laughed myself silly with this, Linny. Being Joel is a pastor I could just see myself and Joel in the same situation. I read the story outloud to J. and we both ended up laughing. Oh, boy…God does have a way to keep us humble doesn't he! Thanks for the smile.

  3. As a fellow pastor's wife, I did get a good chuckle out of this one. And then I had my husband come over and read it, too. He can relate, although he's never had that happen with a candy cane. 🙂

  4. I don't post often, but I just had to say "Thanks" for sharing…I really needed a good laugh!!In fact I should be in bed sleeping, but I think God knew I needed to hear what you had to share.

  5. OH! Thank you so much for sharing that one! I am so glad to know God has such a fun sense of humor…just when we start taking life a little too seriously. I am sorry it was at the embarrassment of DW, but thank you, thank you, thank you! I am still giggling!!!

  6. Linny,
The house is quiet with everyone sound asleep… so I thought I read your quiet pearls of wisdom before I turned off my light.
Little did I know I would be trying so hard to still be quiet. I am sputtering, coughing, and have tears of pure delight running down of face at DW expense.
Bless you both… you for sharing and DW for being the gracious man and letting share.
    Happy Monday!!
    Barbara Lyman 🙂

  7. I would have just left it and maybe everyone would have come to the same conclusion…He grew a candy cane tail of course! hee hee. I probably would have peed my pants and then it would have been doubly embarassing. lol

  8. Oh I just love you guys. Thanks for sharing that story. Ya know sometimes it's just the little things that can make our day. We have all had embarrassing moments, it's fun when we can laugh at ourselves, and NEVER take ourselves too seriously. Thanks for sharing.
