A Sweet Surprise From the Lord

Ooookay.  So ya’ know how Dw and Emma and Graham and the team are in Africa, right?
Well while Dw is gone several men at church have been checkin’ in on us…two of his best buds take turns phoning everyday to see if we need anything.  {Infact they care so much that yesterday when I didn’t answer two calls in a row, one was coming over to check on us!  You guys know who you are and you both so totally rock!!}
 And another friend, went today to get wood for us.  There is this place about 45 minutes away that has wood pieces left over from the business they run and almost every morning you can line up and get a truckload of wood for not much moolah.
Well Big Jim went to get us some wood, and he was on his way to work, so it had to be a quick turn-a-round and I told him that the kids and I would move the wood, if he could just dump it in the driveway.

Well I was getting coats and boots and got outside a couple of minutes after Big Jim got there…but the second I did, Isaiah said with excitement….”Look Mom!  Look!  Just like the wood we need!”
Can I just say?
God’s heart is for the orphan….and He will ALWAYS provide for them….
ALWAYS
{We have gotten two or three loads of wood from this place…
but never has it had little rounds like this.  Never before!  Absolutely and only our Miracle-working, Mountain-moving, Awe-inspiring, Gasp-giving God!!}
Look how much was in the pile!!
The kids were just as excited as I was…they carried it to the table and separated it without even being  asked….oh how they love the orphan too!!
It’s ALL aspen!!
ASPEN!!!
Now we have more wood to make our candle holders to sell to feed the orphan
and
Gray-Gray and I don’t even have to hand saw these pieces!!
How stinkin’ amazing is that??!!??
I was just Yippee Jesus-ing all over the place!!
 Everybody helped move it to the porch…
 Savannah’s spending a few days with me and helping with the kids….{she’s AWESOME!}
 Big Jim – YOU are such a blessing to us all!!!

Plenty of wood to keep us warm until Dw gets home….

And our beautiful Place Called Simplicity will soon be hummin’ with drillin’ the holes for the candles and filling the holes with candles and wrapping them with bows and God will give folks a longing to have one of these simple little candles and they’ll buy them and THEN orphans, all alone and so hungry, living on the streets of Kampala will eat at the feeding program…….

 Thank you Jesus for providing….You are entirely Unbelievably Awesome…
Your name ALONE is worthy of praise…
{and guess what guys?  God moved in a huge way…for the Orphan-Wares arm of the ministry we have started…and I will share tomorrow {Lord willing} what God is up to….and then you won’t be able to stand it…You will have to be involved…*giddiness abounding!*

  1. Look at all that beautiful snow!!! I miss seeing snow fall and glisten on the ground. Would you mind blowing some of that fluffy stuff down South? πŸ™‚

    How sweet it is to have friends around to lend a helping hand when there's a need. And how awesome that God provided supplies necessary to continue raising funds for the orphan! Can't wait to hear about what's ahead.

  2. It reminded me as I read this, of the amazing family of believers we are surrounded by in my hometown and how much help I get to keep my family going because there's no Daddy here to help.
    You wouldn't believe how God has shown his Father heart to us through His people-Wood, Food, greenhouses, cars, rent ,the list is endless but it's all summed up in one word- LOVE!!! not only through members of the church I attend but other family members from other churches too- it's amazing. Thank you for this reminder, it's really blessed me and i;m looking round my house today – ONE HUGE MEMORIAL BOX and thanking God HUGELY!!!!

  3. I've been "cocooining" and just had a chance to catch up with your blog. Praying that the team's time in Africa will be blessed and that God will move in a mighty way through them. So great to see the pictures of Finn at your home with the boys. What a Christmas present that was! Happy New Year to your family.
    Blessings,
    Teresa
