Please Pray!!!

A blog friend posted a request on our prayer post from Thursday just a little bit ago.  As soon as I saw it I wrote and asked her for more information.
My heart is so burdened for this situation, would you please pray with me?
A young couple that this blog friend knows has been ministering in Kenya.
Here is the story from our blog friend, Adrian:
Ebel and Lora Kremer are from Holland.  They did their DTS {a program with Youth With A Mission – aka YWAM} in South Africa and started building an orphanage at Athi River YWAM base, Kenya.
( 8 homes where local foster parents can give a normal family life to 12 children)
They were also involved in the children’s program for the YWAM base.
The base accommodates 25 staff members and 50 students had just arrived there.

The robbers came into their home arround 1 am, shot and killed Ebel, and brutalized Lora,
Their two small children were home at the time. Lora has been to hospital and is now with the kids at friends in Nairobi (50 km away) and prepares to come to Holland where her husband will be buried. He was a former policeman.

Ebel
Would you please pray with me for Lora and their children?  The trauma.  The pain.  Who can imagine? I cannot type without tears.  The cost of serving Christ can be unbearable.

  1. So glad I turned on my computer today! (normally it is off for Shabbat!) Will be praying for the sweet Shalom of our Messiah to reign in their hearts! That He would comfort them and take care of every need and heal every emotional and physical wound!

  2. We will be praying for this precious family. I wish I could understand times like these — I so don't – I do know my Jesus knows so I rest in Him and not my understanding.

Thank you for sharing this situation so we can join in praying

  3. Lifting this up to the Father right away. So hard to read and to realize that things like this do indeed happen. Praying for God to move in a mighty way in this situation – that even in the midst of such heartache He will be glorified.

  4. Lifting this woman and her children up in prayer. We can only lean on God's understanding at a time like this. May he bring comfort and healing to Lora and her children during this time of great need.

  5. Yes it is heartbreaking, sometimes these things happen and we don't understand why 🙁

Praying for His presence to fill them, only His presence can give them peace of mind and comfort them through this.

  6. My first ache, as I hung my head in tears, was "Lord, where is the eucharisteo in this?"…

Satan is howling, raging insane. He thinks he wins..he thinks he can stop God…stop God's children.

I just read this yesterday, the familiar words "precious in his eyes in the homecoming of his saints" ps 116:15. this does not feel anywhere in the hemisphere close to precious…..

Praying for dear wife and children. Only God can do something with this…Only God.

  7. Linny, My heart breaks for this family!! Our family will be praying for our Father's comfort to surround them in such a time is this. I thank-you for sharing this so that we can all be prayer warriors. love, Ellen Wylie

  8. "He is no fool who parts with that which he cannot keep, when he is sure to be recompensed with that which he cannot lose".–Jim Elliot

Great Jehovah-Jireh be the Great Provider for Lora and her children.

Lord, when our hearts are breaking and we have no words, you interpret our groanings to the heart of the Father. Lord do that right now. Give peace and comfort to Lora and her children. Be Lora's Jehovah Rapha and bring healing to her body and broken heart. Remind the three of them of the precious memories that they have with Eblen so that they will be comforted by them. Bless beyond what we can even think to ask and we'll give you all the praise and glory because you are our God. Lord, we trust your heart even when we can't trace your hand. Bless this precious family who are giving their life in your service. Provide all that is needed and wrap your sweet arms of love around them.

  9. Oh my heart is breaking for this precious mama and her children. I love what you said at the end. The cost of serving Christ can be unbearable. Trusting in our Sovereign King to surround Lora at this time. Covering them in prayer.

  10. Thanks for posting this Linny as I will pray right now. I have been reading your blog for sometime but this is my first time to comment as this is close to home…I lived in Athi River for 5 months and volunteered at a home for street boys there. My heart is burdened for all as it is such a small community and this is definitely tragic. May the Holy Spirit bring peace, comfort and victory. Thank you for sharing.

  11. Praying right now – along with these other prayer warriors.

Thank you Heavenly Father for Ebel's trust in you – for his faith, for his salvation.

Praying for comfort and peace and the balm of the Holy Spirit for Lora and their children.

Asking God to pour out His LOVE in the middle of this loss. To have it overflow.

My heart just hurts… Father heal this.

  12. As I was reading Sandee's post above, the Lord gave me a thought that I want to share. Satan thinks he wins, but when the hearts of those robbers turn to repentance and embrace Christ, Satan shivers and retches in pain.

I say we all pray for those robbers, too, as difficult as it may be. Deliver them to the throne of God. Anyone agree?

  13. Oh, Lord Jesus, how long, how long til we hear that glad song? Friends, I just feel His Coming draws closer and closer. Times grow so evil. But HE is stronger than it all. Come, Lord Jesus!
Praying for the family…cannot imagine the pain. Counting the cost.

  14. Thank you for posting this, it means so much, all these so much needed prayers.
Today in church someone said;- the blood of the martiers is the seed of the church-
I pray it to be so…

  15. This is SO heartbreaking. It's hard to imagine such brutality against God-fearing, God-serving people such as these. Like you said, "The cost of serving Christ can be unbearable"

We will definitely be praying for Lora, her children, and their extended family and friends. As well as everyone who witnessed this brutal act take place. I'm sure they are all frightened.

"Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted" <><

Praying for our Heavenly Father's DIVINE grace to comfort and sustain this precious family during this very unbearable time in their lives.

    So, so, so very sad.

    Hugs,
    Tanya
