Blog Friend in Japan Asks for Prayer….

I received this email this afternoon.  I must share it with you sweet friends.
Please pray for our sister in Christ and the beautiful people of Japan.
I am sharing most of the letter, so you can see her sweet spirit and tender heart.

Dear Linny,

Hi!! My name is M~……. I don’t know when you are going to call for another day of prayer from your readers, but I figured I wouldn’t wait! I have a very special prayer request and knew I could count on your prayers right this very moment.

My family currently lives in Japan, where my husband is serving in the Military. We have been here, along with our five kids, since last July. Our military base is near Toyko.

Linny, the devastation in this country is horrific. I’ve been praising God that things were NOT worse, as I know it could be a much bleaker picture. We are OK as of right now on the military base, but knowing what is going on just a few miles outside our gate is very sombering. Just as bad is the fear that is settling in.

The talk of nuclear meltdowns and radiation leaks is very disturbing. The mere thought of another earthquake is mind numbing. Today they are starting rolling power outages to help conserve energy, and there is talk of gas rationing. We are starting to go into panic mode – not just us in our home but the community around us.

After the initial shock of the earthquake I was earnestly praying that God would use the situation – and those Christians He has placed right in the midst of it – to bring honor to His name in this country where the great majority of the population do not know Him.

Don’t really know how that can happen if we let ourselves be enslaved by fear!!! We would love to have you join us in prayer – just KNOWING other believers are lifting us up goes a long way!!!! Please pray for us to be strengthened and encouraged, to be used to help those truly experiencing loss and devastation all around us, and to let His glory shine in all this! And for the physical needs AND spiritual neeeds of those without food, water, power, medical supplies as we speak!

Love,
M~

  2. Will be praying for the Christians in Japan be filled with His peace in acknowledging Him and trusting Him through this devastation that the others may be drawn to Him.

So sorry to hear about the devastation.

  3. Praying. Have been praying. Will continue to do so. Thank you for sharing this so we can get some perspective of someone who is there.

  4. M – We ARE praying. We can't even imagine what you are all going through. As another military spouse, know you and others who are there are being held close to our hearts right now – here are a couple of things for you to remember: 1. You are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses. Fix your eyes on Jesus and do not grow weary and lose heart. Heb.12 2. Remember that you are Sarah's daughter and don't give way to fear (sometimes courage is being afraid and still doing what is right, and you are truly in fearful circumstances – just not alone.) 1 Pet. 3:6 and 3. You are Jesus with skin on. Be present in the land and he will use you. Just show up with those who are hurting and alone and afraid and needy. "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go." Love and prayers from NE.

  5. Dear M~All of Japan is being held up in unceasing prayer…just this morning our church spent a good portion of each service on praying for Japan…our hearts, prayers and thoughts are on you every waking moment…the devastation is beyond comprehension…your eyes see it…but your mind can't believe it! We know that the Lord is using this to bring salvation to Japan… using it for His Glory. For every loss of precious life…may there be 20+ saves and 100's of miracles to proclaim His Greatness. Japan's needs are devastatingly great… where does one begin to clean up, rebuild and repair…let alone survive and heal….only God…only God! My heart breaks for all those who have gone through this. And you, M, will be prayed over unceasingly…you can count on that…you can count on the Lord to see you through…His Unfailing Love is with you and your family…and all of Japan. Thank you for writing…we have a connection as we pray for Japan! "The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me" Psalm 138:8
    blessings and love, cindy

  6. M-we have been praying for all of the people of Japan. It is so sad to see all the destruction and know there's so much suffering right now. It just breaks our hearts. Please know that we care and are continuing to remember all in prayer. Remember that God will never leave you nor forsake you. Hugs and thanks for sharing, Linny!

  7. Praying!!! Our family has been praying, but this gives us a more specific way to pray. Thank you for sharing. Our prayers will continue and the battle will be won. We will see God through all of this!

  8. Thank you, thank you for your prayers. I grew up as a missionary kid in Japan and my heart aches for the 99% of Japanese that don't know Christ as their Savior and source of hope and strength. My parents and sister's family are still in Japan, serving and shining Christ's light. They are gathering supplies to take the affected areas, but are as yet unable to get in, only rescue workers are allowed at this time. Please pray that during this time of brokenness, the Japanese people will look to a Higher Power, to Him, for strength.

  9. Prayers for Japan are going up all over the world!! Thank you for sharing your story so I can pray specifically.

Numbers 6:24-26 “The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace.”

  10. We have been praying those same prayers. Thank you for verbalizing them. Yes, we will stand with you in prayer. In fact, my two little boys and I just prayed for those requests.

    Love in Christ,
Janet, Kevin, Ted, Philip, and Elijah

  11. My heart is breaking for everyone in Japan, truly tears fall every time I see the footage. Remember this though, our God is bigger than all of this! He loves you so, just call out to Him, especially in your fear and He will comfort you. He will NOT leave you nor forsake you. He is holding you now. We will continue to pray and we will hold your family up in this devastating time, as well as those your surrounded by. He is with you always and we are too! Blessings to you M!

  14. Dear M,

We are praying and will continue to pray. We have Japanese friends there that are ministers and we don't know if where they are, but know that God can turn all of for His glory. We will be praying especially for you and the Christian community not to give into the fear, but be freed to be used by Jesus.

Thank you for your honesty and willingness to be used.

    Blessings admist trials,

  15. Sitting here watching the evening news program and grieving and heavy-hearted for those in Japan. I honestly cannot imagine living through the devastation of the quake and tsunami and then to have to live through the remaining rubble, power outages, nuclear problems, lack of water and day-to-day trials. Blessings on you, your family and the people of Japan. May all things work together for good and His glory.

  16. Psalm 119:28
My soul melts from heaviness; Strengthen me according to Your word.

    "The name of the LORD is a strong tower;
the righteous run to it and are safe."
    Proverbs 18:10

Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

    Psalm 94:19
In the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comforts delight my soul.

    With many prayers!
    Chris

  17. Romans 8:28 All things, all things, all things…….It is hard to think that God causes ALL things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose, Dear M., however, god has you there for those around you to minister to. Maybe you are being called to tell friends there, who don't know the Peace of Jesus, that Jesus is their hope for Peace and Courage….
Many, many brothers and sisters are in earnest prayer for the country of Japan and her people….God, in His mercy, allows things to happen to draw people to Him….What a Great God we serve.
    Stay strong…

  18. Hi everyone!! I am "M" from the letter Linny posted, and I just wanted to say I cannot thank you enough for your encouraging words and continued prayers. Trust me, we are already feeling the effects of the words being lifted to our Father on our behalf and on behalf of all those around us!! This is just the beginning of a long road ahead for the Japanese, but it SO great to know they are being supported by the prayers of so many. And all of you are right in pointing out Rom 8:28 – I feel sure this will be used to God's glory!!!!
Thank you, dear friends, for showing the love of Christ to me and all those here!!
