Sunday in Uganda

Thank you for praying for the wedding feast.  Each night the team has “debrief”, talking about the day and the emotions of it.  Last night the overwhelming thought was how emotions were all over the place.  The slums, the clothes, the need, the helplessness…really, hardly bearable.
There is much to say, but honestly, we have much to process first.
We were so very humbled and thankful to be able to be part of it all.
The boys loved their clothes.  When I am able to upload pictures, you will love seeing their smiles and joy. They loved your letters, your pictures.  Powerful and truly amazing.
Today we are off to Ssenge Village.  This is the village where Dw has been leading pastor’s conferences for several years now.  The people know us, they love us and they love the teams coming.  Then it’s to the {former} street boys home in Ssenge Village.
We will be having lunch prepared at the boys home by our African daughter Moreen.  Dw and I “adopted” Moreen a couple of years ago.  I have been running into people who say, “OH!  Moreen told me her mom was coming!”  Our four African sons and Moreen truly mean that we are their mom and dad.  All of them orphans, until being ‘adopted’ by us.  I am greatly humbled.  I am introduced as their mom everywhere I go.  My children here have bring me great joy.  The team can vouch for it, I have some of the sweetest kids in the entire world.
I am taking pictures so you can see them all.
I am a mom of Many.
Sixteen to be exact.
Thank you for your prayers!! Don’t stop!

  3. Thanks for the update and looking forward to seeing the photos. I was visiting a friend's photos of where she and hubby are in Africa, waiting for papers to be completed so they can bring their daughter home. They had a wedding as well, quite interesting. Different person though! Hugs and you are in our prayers.
