Open Wide

Sometimes people wonder what a large family looks like on a daily basis.
Does volume mean chaos?
Doesn’t have to.
Thankfully.
And no, I did not have any one pose for the picture.
{I just jumped up and snapped my cell phone.}
Today I had to take Elijah for a dentist appointment
{Yesterday was Isaiah, next week Elizabeth and Liberty}.
Graham was not with us….but here’s what we look like waiting for Elijah’s dentist appointment a couple of hours ago.
Isaiah,  Jubilee and Elizabeth are coloring.
Emma reading.
Liberty coloring.
Elijah was just plain bored.
Evidenced by this:
Yes!
He fell sound asleep on his first ever dentist appointment {while Doctor Dale & I chatted}.
I attribute it to the fact that we have the sweetest and most gentle dentist {he happens to attend our church and does tons of missions, putting his dental skills to practice in third world countries!}
Anyway, there you have it.
Some of our large family at the dentist.
Tomorrow – we fast and pray together!!
The request post will go up right after midnight.

  1. oh, funny! just got a comment from you & i have your blog open & left it open listening to Everlasting God.
    may our strength rise as we wait!

    i love this peek at your family. =)

    joining you fasting & praying tomorrow. love you, friend.

  2. Love it Linny!! Does it help when new kids come home that the older kids know how to behave? I have struggled with one of my children with behaving at appointments (she abides by the rules at home but out and about 'the world is a playground')- hoping and praying she will step it up when our boys come home.

  3. love this post. . share more of what life looks like with all those kiddos. . .

    I love the encouragement that a big family does not have to equal chaos.

    sidenote: all 4 kiddos and me have a dentist appt today. . .

  4. Love this post Linny! I am now the owner of an iPhone with camera so I'll have to snap a photo of us at the dentist. My favorite part is usually when someone comments about "how well behaved they ALL are." :)))
