We Need Another….

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened,
and I will give you rest.”
Matthew 11:28 niv
Is your heart burdened?
Has God been working on your heart about something,
but your spouse “isn’t on the same page with you {yet}?”
Do you need the Lord to provide resources?
Are you in the midst of adoption struggles?
Do you have wayward children?
Is God asking you to do something huge and you’re wondering ‘how’?
Do you or someone you love need a physical healing?
Are you needing to sell your home?
Have you been wondering what a personal relationship with God even looks like?
or
Are you wishing that you would hear God speak to you?
We need another day of prayer {and fasting}.
This Wednesday

May 4th, 2011
Will you join us?
Just after midnight, as the day is turning to the 4th, I will do a post where you {and I} can post our own personal prayer requests in the form of comments.  We can then take our time to pray through each of the requests.
I am so moved by the requests many of you have left when we have done other days of prayer {and fasting}.  I have bonded with many of you as we have prayed together.  The Lord brings to mind your needs often…and I continue to pray for many of you.
Please join us.
Prayer and fasting changes our lives,
because God word promises:
“For where two or three come together in my name,
there am I with them.”
Matthew 18:20  niv
Are you in?

  1. Absolutely in! Thank you, Linny…there is so much to pray about…so many needs all over the world…thank you for posting pictures of those precious Uganda boys/your trip….been praying over each picture, each one ever since…i so badly want to help them, to help Japan rebuild, to help those affected by the recent tornadoes…the list goes on…He has broken my heart for what breaks His…to be His hands and feet…the urgency is so great. Praying unceasingly…<3

  2. We're in. Looking forward to it. It is always a special day to pray and fast with everyone. (Even though my fasting is a little different since I'm pregnant!)

  3. I am in! I am also a newer follower to your blog. I want to thank you for all of the encouragement it brings to our family- thank you! We are in the process of our first adoption- such joy!

  4. Linny I am so IN!!! I had already talked to my parents, who live on the other side of the world than I, and we had already planned on Wednesday being a prayer and fasting day! So glad to have A Place Like Simplicity joining… all the more Glory to our Father!!! ~ To God Be the Glory!

  5. I am in! Since we came home a year ago with our son from Taiwan I have felt like God wants us to do more. To adopt again. Even before samuel's referral I felt like God was whispering to me " there is another." I have prayed that if this is from God that my husband would hear this as well. That he would come to me this time and say, " hey, I think we need to adopt again." So far this is not happening. Maybe the timing is wrong. Maybe I am hearing wrong. I don't know but I will be fasting with you. Not just for my own path to be clear but for any other requests posted.

  6. I'm in! I've been thinking that I needed a time of fasting and prayer for our mission trip to South Africa and for our adoptions!

And, what a blessed privilege to go to the Father with the requests of others, too!

So blessed to be part of the body of Christ!

  7. Hi Linny,
I am in! Was thinking that I need to set aside a day of prayer this week, so this realy is a Godsend and a devine appointment! Bless you for being so sensitive to His Voice!

  9. Linny, I have followed your blog for a couple of years. I read every morning with my coffee, listen to the praise music, and pray. I want to join your day of fasting. My husband is leaving our family and moving into an apartment on Sunday, Mother's Day. He no longer "feels" love and wants out. I cry, and I have hope in God. Last week, I also found out my son has been sexually abused, and my daughter is so lost and angry. My heart is completely broken, but my God is faithful and I know and feel him here with me. I am trusting in God. I feel forgiveness daily (amazingly),peace, and know when I follow him he will not forsake me and I am loved. Please pray for our family, and that the Holy Spirit bring strong conviction on my husband and for my son to experience the love of Jesus and his healing power.

  10. I am in.

I opened this post just as I was whispering words of need to our Lord, begging him for direction and to place my husband and me on the same page and make our desires one with His will.

Thank-you for listening to the Holy Spirit's heeding.

    In Christ,
    Jody

  11. I really want to do this!! I will be at work all day tomorrow. Is that still possible to be involved in this while still at the workplace? I love this idea.

  12. I'm in!
Prayers for our adoption process and for both our children here and the ones we haven't met yet.

Especially for healing and joy for our oldest son.

    Conversion for my siblings.

Healing for our sweet caseworker who was to start our home study and was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Oh God, please heal her and bring her family peace and courage!

Thank you , Linny-I will be checking back tomorrow to pray over all of these other petitions (dear Judie-my heart breaks. Continue to cling to Jesus and ask his mother Mary to pray for you! I am praying for you NOW!).

  13. definately!! I know I wont' be up at midnite tonite and things get crazy during the day so I dont want to miss leaving a prayer…. 14. I will pray.
    I have 2 requests:

First for my niece to find a place to live near her husband who is in a rehab. facility. (btw, it was the prayers of the blog readers that got him into rehab in December)

Second is unspoken. Linny you know, and know you have prayed much for this already. Thank you.

  15. In! But sadly can't fast. Hum…what else could I give up for a day? Thanks for doing this now, I have an important conversation on Thursday that needs some prayer.

    Cammy

  16. These days have so changed my daily relationship with God. Our church just did a 40 day fast and it has been so cool to see fasting become a part of so many peoples lives. Thank you for constantly pushing me to deeper and deeper levels in my walk.

  17. whoa. Linny, I just clicked here to send you a message (which you will get shortly and read this post. The timing couldn't be any more appropriate. I cant' believe its just after midnite (EST) and am reading this. More on the private message… ~Susan.
