Noon Update on Sunday 7/24/11

It’s been a week now today.
I keep reliving what was happening a week ago right now.
Yukky.
So weird how life can change in an instant.
So icky and weird.
We are so thankful for all of you who have been standing with us. So thankful for all who have been praying with us and signing up on the vigil.  Early this morning I was looking at the Prayer Vigil sheet and thanking the Lord for Joni setting it up and all you who have added your names.
You guys are the best!
So here’s the latest:
They lowered the amount of sedative this morning and Karl has been more agitated, so they put the sedatives up a bit more.
He is continuing to do the trial of breathing and he is doing this well again.  They will continue to have him off the ventilator each day until it gets to stressful for him, then they put him back on.
The first day he was off the ventilator, he was off for 6 hours.
 {Forgive me if I spoke otherwise, I may have been confused.}
Yesterday he was off for 7.5 hours.
So far today he has been off for 3.5 hours.
Please pray that Karl’s agitation will stop.
That he will continue to breath well on his own.
That he will open his eyes voluntarily.
They are giving him more rest today,
calling it actually a “day of rest.”
We all agree:
Since this is Sunday and a God-given day of rest,
Karl should have a rest too.
Thank you for praying for peace and healing for him.
Lastly, we are keeping the Prayer Vigil going.
I know that it is easy to let up and get weary.
It reminds me of this verse:
“Let us not lose heart in doing good,
for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.”
Galatians 6:9
If you are up for it, please add your name to the Prayer Vigil.
**You can get to the Prayer Vigil by clicking on the picture of Karl and Autumn {at the top of the sidebar} that looks just like this one.**
THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH FOR STANDING WITH ALL OF US!

 KARL IS HEALED*~*

  1. We just wanted you to know that we lifted Karl up in prayer at church today, my friend! Tell Autumn we are praying for her, too!! Praying for Karl's complete healing!

  2. Praying for Karl right now (with my 4 preschoolers).

As a former dental hygienist, I want to encourage you to consider discussing his oral care with his caregivers. WHEN he wakes up, having a mouth full of cavities will be ANOTHER challenge. I'm guessing that he is unable to have anything by mouth at this time BUT fluoride on his teeth will do wonders to maintain the strength of his teeth. I know – it seems so far away and perhaps unimportant at this point…but it won't be someday. πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Praying, praying, praying, praying, praying (<<the 5 of us).

  3. We, at Pagosa Bible Church, also lifted Karl and his family (our family!) before the Throne of Grace this morning… continuing to pray for complete healing!
    Hugs to all…

  4. Continued prayers for Karl and for all of you as well, in your strength as you care so much for him. May you feel God's peace and loving arms encircling you, comforting and guiding is this time of sadness but we believe it will become a better situation! Hugs!

  5. Continuing to pray for Karl, and all who are close to him, many times day and night. Shared his name during our time of concerns at church this morning.

"We wait in hope for the LORD; he is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. May your unfailing love rest upon us, O LORD, even as we put our hope in you." Psalm 33:20-22

  6. Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
I am praying for the Karl's healing because of the faith God gives in the things not seen.
Father, may You pour Your balm of Gilead on Karl. Give him strength to allow Your Hand to comfort him in his distress.
Thank you and it is in Jesus wonderful, powerful, name of above all names,
    Amen.
    Love from NC,
    Sandy

  7. Linny,

I thank-you for the community of believers that you have created in this sometimes bewildering and dishonest internet.

As I read the updates about Karl, and the number of people from all over the world praying for his recovery, I am reminded of this verse in Gal 6.2 Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

I am praying for Karl, Autumn and his family and yours.

  8. Linny, Thanks so much for the updates. I'm down with the flu so I'm not on-line, but wanted to check in. I have been praying for Karl, and my prayers will continue. Standing Together ! xoxoxo

  9. Thank you Linny for keeping us updated on Karl. We are continuing to pray for him- focusing on him opening his eyes. Praying for Autumn and both families- this is so hard for everyone…

They are such a cute couple!
