Share Some…

Yesterday morning I was writing a quick note to a FB friend.  I was telling her what I feel the Lord has been impressing on my heart – with exact details.  I finished up and moved to a note from a FB friend waiting in my inbox.  Her letter began with how she had had a dream about our family…..it was a beautiful dream and surprisingly her dream echoed EXACTLY what I had just written only seconds before to a different FB friend.  I couldn’t help believe that it was a confirmation from Him.
Anyway, this morning as I pondered that, I felt like I would like to ask you, my sweet bloggy friends, if you have had any verses you would like to encourage Emmy and I with, please share them in the comments.  We will read each one and since God’s word is always an encouragement, it would be so uplifting to our souls.  
Tomorrow is Sunday for us.  It will be three weeks since we left home.  Three.long.weeks.  God’s word shared by you, our dear friends, would be such a blessing.  So share away.  Thank you in advance! And bless each of you who continue to pray.  The Lord has our back.  He has continually reminded me of that!

  2. That's just so awesome about your FB friend sharing with you her dream, exactly what you've just shared with your other FB friend just a few seconds earlier!!! 🙂

    How I wish I can be among those led by the Lord.

    I was trying to ask the Lord what verses He'd like me to share with you, but nothing came to mind. I opened my e-sword, this was in front of me and I thought to share with you this verse:

    (1Ki 19:18) Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him.

    In 1 Kings 19:10, Elijah told the Lord that he felt alone, but the Lord showed him that there are 7,000 who, like Elijah, would not bow to Baal.

    If you feel alone, be courageous, know that there are many who are praying for you 🙂 Earlier today, I was touched watching a testimony about a deaf pastor who had an heart operation, he was strengthened when he received so many prayer support, even from overseas. He mentioned feeling like Elijah when the Lord told him about the 7,000. The e-sword bible verse reminded me of that.

    Deu 31:8 And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.

  3. Hebrews 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.
    Sometimes discouragement can become a "weight" for me that completely inhibits me from running the race. As you are away from your family–I'm praying that you would be free of that "weight".

    This is a verse from Isaiah 51 that God gave me this week to speak into my own situation, but I hope you will be encouraged by it too.

    3 We always pray for you, and we give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. 4 For we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and your love for all of God’s people, 5 which come from your confident hope of what God has reserved for you in heaven. You have had this expectation ever since you first heard the truth of the Good News.

    Why are we always so surprised when we see God in action?! Just now, during my morning devotional, in the middle of reading a verse, a fleeting but definite awareness of you entered my mind. Then, as I re-read the verse it was impressed upon me that I was to share it with you. Now it is not yet 6 a.m. and being that I'm a bit weary and it is Saturday, my 1 day to sleep in, I was tempted to just go back to bed for awhile then get online later to send you the verse. But in my spirit there was a strong prompt to do it now, not later. So here I am, and you know I'm more of a "lurker" type, not one who often shares a comment. And what do i see when i read your latest post? Your request for readers to send verses of encouragement. So, without further ado, this is the word of the Lord: "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9.

  9. Oh Linny. I tried to post this on the morning of Miss Ruby's surgery but my computer wouldn't let me comment. And for one reason or another I couldn't do it until now. I guess God had a better timing. That morning God woke me up much earlier than usual, and when I got up to have a quiet time I felt that He wanted me to share these verses with you. I was thinking specifically about Ruby, but I don't know what you have experienced there, so it might apply to you as well. 2 Cor 1:8-11 "We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about the hardships we suffered in the province of Asia (I guess you can put Africa here). We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired even of life. Indeed, in our hearts we felt the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead. He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us, as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many"

    Remember that God has blessed Sarah and Ruby Grace with angels that see HIS face. What better comfort can our Heavenly Father give us than the gift of knowing he bestows something so precious to our children. I hope this Word brings peace to your heart knowing that your children in Africa AND the ones at home have ministering angels. Keeping you all in my prayers.

One of the verses that is most precious to me as a mother is Isaiah 40:11 – "He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young." What a precious picture of how he cares not only for our little ones, but also for the mamas too. He tenderly carries Little Ruby Grace and Sarah close to His heart, and He gently leads their mama (and big sister!) in the way she should go.

    I´m praying for you every day. I could never describe how much God blessed me trough your family. I´m still young in my faith and struggling, but every time I read your blog I get encouraged. Maybe it will sound very crazy, but when I read your blog it makes me feel like beeing part of your family. I just feel like beeing in good hands, even when I not know you and you even know me none. I´m sounding like a stalker *sigh*
    Anyway. I prayed that God will give me a verse for you and he showed me this (twice):

    I don't comment often… but I am so BLESSED by your words and testimony! I love your heart! Thank you for sharing it with us 🙂

    In September of 2010, I was in Uganda to bring home our beautiful children (after 2 years of battles!). Our judge was a hard man… to put it in the simpliest, shortest words! and for some reason he did NOT like me! Needless to say, there were lots and lots of trials and discouragement along the way.

    BUT…

    just before we were to go before the judge AGAIN and we had no idea how he was going to respond or what else he was going to ask for… the LORD gave me this verse…

    "Praise be to the LORD, the God of our fathers, who has put it into the king's heart (or judges 😉 to bring honor to the house of the LORD in Jerusalem in this way and who has extended his good favor to me before the king and his advisers and all the king's powerful officials. Because the hand of the LORD my God was on me, I took courage… " Ezra 7:27-28

    The Lord indeed put it into the judges heart to grant us guardianship! GLORY to His holy name!!!

    May our faithful God encourage and strengthen you and Emmy, may His love surround you in tangible ways and may He lift you up with His righteous hand and grant you favor, so that you will be home with ALL your children soon!

  27. One verse that I love and that I pray a lot is Philippians 4:6-7. This verse is very profound for me, and it really makes me think of your family! You are such a powerful person of prayer, and you really inspire people like me to pray thru all hardships!! Thank you for all you do!

    I prayed again today about what verse/verses God would like me to share with you and when I read the one below, it jumped out on the page for me. I thought it was just for me and a family situation that is going on, but then God reminded me it was also for you. Don't know why, it seems a bit strange because it is just the last part of the verse I feel led to share….BUT I am sharing it.

  30. As I read this, the song–"Your Grace is Enough, for Me"–was playing on your blog. As I read your words, God impressed this song on my heart. He REMEMBERS each and every orphan that the world has forgotten. He loves each of them. His hand is on you, Emmy and little Ruby even when you feel as though you don't have the strength to keep fighting, He is doing it for you!! He uses the weakest times in our lives to show His power, grace, majesty and miracles. Don't lose heart sweet friends, God is on your side and is moving mountains, even when you don't see them moving!!

    "Each time he said, "My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness." So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me." 2 Corinthians 12:9

  31. One I had forgotten about until recently is in Hebrews…. about the One who has (already) perfected those who are being made holy. (Us!)

    Also the Psalm about how he is loving toward all he has made. So important for me to remember when struggling with concern for millions of orphans, widows, starving people, etc.

    And SS 4, that we his Bride have stolen his heart. & other spots in SS about how beautiful we are to him, how he asks to hear our voice.

  34. I have a few special verses on index cards placed near my computer moniter so I can see them daily. Two of them you mention in Your Holy Ground #3. Zephaniah 3:17 and Psalm 25:14 they bring me strength and comfort in the lord.

  40. I have an Android based tablet and one of the home screen apps offers a Bible verse each day. When I woke this morning and read your post, I didn't think much of it. I figured I didn't have anything to offer, but this afternoon I looked at the daily verse….then went back to the beginning of the chapter, the whole time thinking of you, your sweet family, and the three long weeks you've all had. He immediately brought to mind that His grace is sufficient for you (and me, as we are going though some difficulties right now in our lives.).   45. I went looking for a verse, I wanted to find the verse about putting on God's armour for protection. My head was saying look for a verse about protection but in my heart I kept hearing, 'trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge him and he will lay your path straight'.

    So I have ignored my head and am listening to God who would like me to give you Proverbs 3-5-6.

Friends and sisters, I am sending a detailed request for urgent prayer to the Knee Team but i also wanted to ask you here to please remember my brother Christopher and his 2 little ones, Natalia and Niko in eastern europe. they need fervent prayer as Christopher will be standing before the judge there on tues morning to plead for the custody and passports of his precious children finally after 6 months refusal of the case by the courts. pray they will be set free from the danger and trauma they are suffering and be returned to his quiver and can finally come home to USA. thank you and bless you for loving them enough to pray. He needs a miracle and God is able!

    I didn't have time to read what everyone else wrote but as I was praying for you guys yesterday this is the scripture that kept coming to me. Last year at this time I had so much "good" happening and it became more than I thought I could humanly handle. Honestly, it was more than my human self could do. At the time I had friends stand with me in prayer to hold me up and this is the scripture that my friends kept emailing me.
