Sweet Baby Fingers…

“Thankful” seems like such a blah word to express our gratitude for your prayers for our precious teeny, tiny treasure.
It was comforting last night to know that once Dw posted the need for prayer for Little Miss R that our sweet bloggy friends would hit their knees.
It is a bit overwhelming to this Mom of Many to be in a small Ugandan town unable to do anything to help her.   It reminds me of the days in the ICU waiting room waiting for Karl {and countless other dreadful situations}, and not a thing we could do  – but pray.
It was also very comforting last night knowing that
many of you are in time zones
that would be up praying while we were trying to sleep.
Thank you so much.
I have to share with you some things on my heart.
When Dw had met our little one at the orphanage in June, I knew in my heart she was ours.  I was so burdened for her.  I would sob and sob throughout my days {yes, true sobbing}.  Emma described her paper-thin skin that merely covered her bones.   Of course, knowing that with hydrocephalus, her head is heavy, and still she only weighed 6 lbs and she was a year old.
My heart was so broken for her.
We’ve prayed unceasingly for her.  While sitting in the ICU waiting room after Karl’s accident, I said to Lisa, “Ruby needs us…”  Lisa’s response was so wise, “You be about God’s business and He will be about yours…”
True to His word, He has paved the way, caring for her when we were unable.  I stand in awe.
Just before leaving for Africa He began to impress on me that she would have surgery here in Uganda.  So when this situation presented itself, I had peace.
Surgery {period} is scary {so it wasn’t without the normal throwing up feeling} but still…peace in my heart of hearts.
The hospital staff have been so very kind.
The surgeon {a Ugandan} came to where we are
staying the other day.
He had his family with him and he introduced us.
Such a kind man!
I told him yesterday, as they were about to begin the surgery:
“There are people all over the world praying for you.”
He said, “They don’t even know me.”
I laughed and through tears said,
“But they love you! Thank you for helping our baby.”
Last night, when fear was threatening to choke me,
the Lord took me to these verses:
“Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed;
He answers him from His holy heaven
with the saving power of His right hand.
Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.”
Psalm 20: 6,7
We trust Him.
His plan always trumps every.single.human.circumstance.

Almighty God sustained her when she was starving to death,
before ever reaching the doors of the baby home.
He spared her life because He has a plan for her.
A plan for her to live!
A plan for her to thrive!
A plan that her very being brings praise to Him!
I have to tell you also….
She KNOWS me.
Oh.yes.she.does.
When I arrive {almost every day}, she grins from ear to ear.
Sometimes even kicking her body in excitement.
{She doesn’t do it for Emma. so sorry Emmy.}
Even B from the baby home, sees.
Yes, indeed, sweet baby girl, knows I’m her mama.
Yes, she knows me.
And I am hopelessly smitten.
Cannot wait till Ruby Grace is home.
Forever.
Family.
Please continue to pray that the infection would be gone!
{in Jesus’ matchless name}
Off to the hospital in hopes they will let me visit her in the ICU
{although it is still hours until I can officially visit her!}…
I’m sure she’s wondering where that Mama-Lady is!

  2. o linny! what joyous news to hear from you! if i checked once today i checked a thousand times, so hungry was i for updates. now a picture too! thank you for taking time to talk to us all even while you are so intensely involved in bringing your treasures home. my family continues to lift Ruby Grace before the mercy seat in intense prayer and tears just flow. It is like you can just feel her sweetness already in the US ! Prayed and fasted through today for her surgery and infection to heal and happen. will do so again as soon as necessary. meanwhile, as i am marching for the Lord while we hold prayer vigil here in Kalispell for 40 Days of Life Ruby keeps coming back into the prayers for life! Jesus loves life in the womb and out, they are all so precious to HIm. be blessed and be strengthened for your Precious Lamb is being cradled in the palms of the King of Heaven and the Prince of Peace as she heals and waits for the "mama-lady" 🙂 when and if necessary the Lion of Judah will be right there to defend her too! keep giving our love to her surgeon, he is truly is a chosen man. he may possibly be about to perform the most prayed for surgery in all of his medical history! much love from montanta!

  3. Prayers are lifted not only for your Ruby but your Sarah! God is mighty to save! You will not be disappointed as your hope and trust is in HIM!

  4. Simply, praying!

Here is a verse that God placed before me this morning AFTER I had read this update so I wanted to come back and leave it with you.

"The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me (and you) to proclaim
good news to the poor. He has sent me (and you)
to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim
freedom for the captives and release from
    darkness for the prisoners"
    Isaiah 61: 1-3

Father God, release sweet Ruby Grace from her prison of darkness, provide her freedom with complete healing and bring spiritual anointing to all those whose lives are being touch in any way by this precious treasure that YOU created in YOUR image.
Lord Jesus, You ARE MIGHTY to SAVE and I BELIEVE! In YOU, in YOUR POWER and in YOUR word.
    In Your Blessed name, Amen!

  8. Linny – Praying your visit today is wonderful. How beautiful that Miss Ruby Grace already knows her mama…only God can give that bond and peace in such a short time. Love it! Continuing prayers for you all in Uganda and the family back in the states. Thank you for sharing your life with all of us.

  9. Linny, I know she's small…but her little hand seems pudgier than the pictures I saw this summer. She is putting on weight! I'm praying for your baby.

  10. It's exciting to see how God's plan is unfolding. I have been praying for you guys, and during my prayer time, have felt so much like I know you personally and care so much about your family. It's a peculiar (in a good way!) feeling, and I look forward to continuing along on your family's journey. 🙂

  11. Made me cry! Baby Girl has the best Mama in the World! A Mama who live all the way across the world, yet that Mama is there with her tiny girl when she's having surgery!! I LOVE Our God! HE knew Ruby G would need her Mama and He made/allowed it to happen. Your presence, Linny…along with His and a good physician will help her heal and hang on until she can get that shunt! 13. Oh my, Lord send your blessings on those precious hands, both mama and sweet Ruby Grace. Be Jehovah Rophe to Ruby Grace and heal her. Comfort any pain and heal the infection so that she can come home as soon as possible.

  14. Linny,

My 4 year old kept waking up last night (4 times). He never does that! I used those times I was awake to pray for sweet Ruby Grace. I know it was the Lord who woke me up to pray for her.

    Amy
