Today’s the Day!

I usually come up with a title for a post before I even start typing.
Today words seem to fail me.
It is only by God’s grace and your prayers that we are holding up.
Between Karl, Jubilee’s surgery in August and now Ruby,  I am pretty much over hospitals.
There is no doubt it is only Almighty God who gave Ruby the grace to be content while she waited from 2am this morning till her sedated MRI at 11:00am.
Taken just a few minutes ago. Isn’t she such a dolly?
You can see the burns drying on her neck in the background.
Thankful they are healing.
From the MRI Ruby is going directly to surgery, sedated already.
Some have asked how her neck is.
It is much better.  I am convinced it is ONLY prayer.
O.N.L.Y.
She is able to move her neck now without screaming hysterically.
Her neurosurgeon has waited as long as possible for it to heal {Wednesday to Saturday} but the risk of infection with two drains coming out of her brain increases each day he leaves them in.
So today’s the day.
After praying over her and kissing her one last time, I lost it.  I have cried little compared to probably what’s bottled up inside.
And then I was reminded of what a sweet bloggy friend posted on my Facebook wall.  The scripture her hand is held open to with RG {Ruby Grace} on it, is a powerful reminder of just how much the Lord loves Ruby.
Yesterday I got an email from another bloggy friend who wrote to tell me that her Isaiah {age 9, from China} has been praying specifically that,

praying that Ruby can feel the hands
of her Father holding her so she won’t hurt.”
Thank you all for your encouraging comments,
emails, and FB messages.
They mean more than we can adequately express.
You guys are amazing.
Thank you for holding up our arms.
We have needed it so much.
Off to pray.

  1. God is so neat. That is the very same scripture He lead me to this morning!

I am lifting up sweet Ruby Grace and you my friend. The Lord is there now and forever more!

    Love and prayers,
    angi 🙂

  2. Absolutely amazing. God is SO HUGE! I am with you in prayer. Hebrews 4:16 “Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” May you be comforted with peace. We are here for you!

  3. I know your faith was already secure, but as of late, it seems it must have grown leaps and bounds. I hope you do not mind, but I took the liberty of posting a link to your blog on my FB page, so that my friends and family can also pray for Ruby Grace.
Your words and your undying faith has touched so many, and strengthened my own faith in God. You are touching more people than you probably know, simply by putting yourself out there and asking for prayer.

  4. Linny,
We have never met and I can't really be for sure how I even came across your blog…most likely through a mutual friend. I finally figured out how to stop lurking and go public! I'm so touched by your blog. Every day that I read about your love and dependence on Jesus, I am in awe. It gives me such encouragement. I feel like I know you intimately even though I only know your precious sweet words on this blog. I'm also in Durango (live across from the hospital and pray every time I hear the flight for life helicopter) and am a homeschooling mama to four precious children. I am wife to a dear sweet man who was adopted in a sibling group with his two brothers (one of the reasons I love to hear about your adoption stories!) Peace and blessings to you…I am praying for the surgery today.

  5. I'm praying for sweet Ruby. And for you also! I belive The Lord will heal your precious child soon! I'd like to share with you these words from Isaiah:

1 But now, this is what the LORD says—(…):
“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;I have summoned you by name; you are mine. 2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire,
you will not be burned;the flames will not set you ablaze.3 For I am the LORD your God!

    God bless you!
    Maria
