Luring and Lurkdom

Okay.
So yesterday I wrote about the Memorial Box giveaway and
kind of harassed a whole bunch of you quiet folks….
I honestly didn’t mean to harass you out of the shadows.
Truly, I didn’t.
Well maybe I thought a couple of you would come moseying out!
But I definitely did not expect just about a hundred
 of you to come out.
What was it actually that brought you out?
Was it the thought of winning?
Or the full disclosure statement that not one person who posted a comment had had some creeper show up on their doorstep.
Cause boy-oh-boy am I ever gonna’ be in big trouble when you all read the news about that creeper who did come out after so-n-so posted a comment at PCS.
Just Kidding.
Honestly though, I have smiled and giggled all day long.
You guys are just too fun!
And what a pleasant surprise you all have been!
I actually went to look at the blog just to see if Dw had posted something that would instigate the barrage of comments {he likes to make surprise guest appearances from time to time} but lo and behold he hadn’t posted anything.
Which made me laugh even more.
Anyway, I was over-the-moon excited by all of your comments!
I cannot help but mention some very honored guests over here at our Place Called Simplicity:
Maria from Tartu, Estonia
Brittany from the Phillipines {missionaries}
Timothy in Malaysia {woohoo for brave men de-lurking!}
Kate Alice Ming’s mama in Wales
Sylvia from Hobart, Tasmania {Australia}
Noberto & Julie from Paraguay {missionaries}
Now I just have to interject here:
I have seen on the Live Traffic Feed someone from Peru and have truly wondered who stops by for a visit from Peru?  Thank you Jimena for coming out of lurkdom and saying hello from Lima, Peru – so stinkin’ tickled!!
and
JJ – always wondered who visited from ‘that’ city…thought it might be SP.  hahaha.  xo
Chris A. – I do look forward to hugging your neck one day {soon}.
Diane – when you come to visit your sister, I hope we can meet!
Peggy – keep changin’ ’em and please remind others!!
Stacey in Frostburg – can I just say?  Please don’t ever think that you comment too often.  It’s the comments that keep me going.  When there are no more comments, this chica is checkin’ out.  Truly.
Derek & Joseph – love having you gentlemen comment {Heard that saying “real men wear pink”? – Well we say, “real men admit they stop by for a visit at our Place Called Simplicity
every now and then!”
Right Mr. Daddy and Kevin?}
stephanie – totally laughed at your CAPS message.  One day girlfriend.  One day. Promise. Maybe, just maybe, this summer…
Jan J. – if you get that fire engine red dream – come take me for a ride in it!  I think that’s about the year my old friend Dan used to drive {but his wasn’t fire engine red}.
pinkserenity88 – I love the images you mentioned that are that color.  Totally could see it all and enjoy them so much too!
Charlene – totally agree – robin egg blue next to brown.
Gorgeous.
Desiree girlfriend of MI, AL, VA & now OH –  that is a lot of places you’ve moved since stopping by here….whoooa.
And let’s see.
Someone came out of the shadows and they mentioned that they live in a small city that an old beau of mine lives in.  Can you imagine?? He could be your neighbor!! haha.  Which one of you was it now?  Let me think.
I can’t remember.  whew.
Okay wait, I just went through all the comments from today and found yours.  I was going to post your blogger profile name cause that would add to the suspense.  BUT I found that your profile name is very, very distinct.  So, a clue?  Ummm, your profile name is distinct and
your favorite color is purple.
*giggle*
Anyway, when should I have the drawing?
Hmmmm.
Any suggestions?
As for now, the giveaway is still open….just click here…And if a giveaway and these last two posts have not lured you
out of the shadows…
probably nothing will.
*sigh*
Cause it’s really, truly not too late.

  1. I giggled every time I saw your old "beau" who worked at my university as a campus safety officer. (Well, he still works there as a campus safety officer… but I don't go there anymore. πŸ˜› )

P.S. When is the winner being announced? πŸ˜€

  2. Okay, okay… I'm out! But I don't need to be added to the drawing! I've got a nice little box here that I made with the ladies in my weekly Bible study. πŸ™‚
I am Luanne, and I am also a missionary in the Philippines, on the island of Mindano. Maybe you have noticed my dot on your map! We have been here 24 years, and we have seven children, all grown, and 15 grandkids. You and your blog have been a real blessing to me and a source of spiritual encouragement! Thank you so much for sharing about what God has been teaching you, and for allowing us to join you in prayer!
There, that wasn't so bad! πŸ™‚

  3. ~*HA*~ Linny, I just love reading your blog! You make me smile, you inspire me, you challenge me, you humble me, you teach me….and I just adore you sweet girl!

Can't wait to see who wins the Memorial Box! What a fantastic idea!

  4. Well, I suppose I should just go ahead and say hi if nothing else. πŸ™‚ I've been reading your blog for awhile, and should've said hi awhile ago. I'm not a big commenter, but I have been TRULY blessed and challenged by so much of your blogging. Thanks for sharing your stories. Margaret in Lafayette, IN

  5. My name is Paula T. I live in Little Elm, Tx. My favorite color is light green (like Tinker Bell's dress). I collect all things Tink. I pray for your family and say special prayers for Ruby. It is because of your blog that I long to adopt a child. I have APS and have great difficulty conceiving. I haven't the financial means to adopt but my heart hurts for the orphan. I will continue to pray for you all and for your sweet little Ruby.

  6. Hi Linny
Have started to comment so many times but always delete the comment – never sounds right πŸ™‚
Just want to say I love your blog and all your treasures, and the way your writing makes me appreciate my treasures!

  7. Laughing. You're such a tease!! Wish I could meet you in person. πŸ™‚ I don't comment mostly out of laziness, and your giveaway lit a little fire under my backside. πŸ™‚

  8. Hi Linny,
Not interested in the giveaway, but am coming out of the shadows : ) I tend to "comment" in seasons then have long quiet times. I change blog rolls often to view whatever I'm involved with at the time, but have maintained yours on "my favorites" list since I first checked into the bloggy world. It's your ability to be personal with perfect strangers and yet maintain strength and focus at the core of your home life. Very refreshing. God bless.

  9. Sure, would love to win πŸ˜‰ but really it was because of you, Linny! You deserve to know you are making a difference, in each one of us. Im much clser to God because of you and you are helping me be a better mother too!
Sorry about my english, I wish I could say so much more!
    Hugs
    Jimena

  10. Hi Linny
I delurked on another site way back in 08. Not long before I started to check out your blog (because Rach made me) LOL JK.

I actually wrote a poem about it, because of the way that she had her site configured.

Now I don't claim to be a poet by any stretch of anyone's wildest dreams, but I put it out there anyway….LOL

This post brought it to mind so I guess I will share it.

    Lurker

    Hello I’m the lurker.
The voices unheard, the faces unseen.

    I travel lightly.
    With little baggage it seems.

And though I leave nothing behind,
But slight traces, that I have been.

    I take away treasures ,
    Of ideas, thoughts, and plans.

    So bloggers beware,
    I will always be here.

    With narry a comment,
    Or feedback to share.

    So please,
Take no offense. To my lurking about.

    You have no idea,
Of the blessing you shout out.

So just for once I will come out of my shell,
To thank you humbly, for all that you tell.

Of silver and gold, I have very little,
And worldly goods are so very fickle.

    Here’s a big thankyou,
    From one lurker, who’s grateful…………………

Thanks again Linny and give that man of yours a Manly hug from me, πŸ™‚ His calls and prayers were a VERY bright spot in a dismal time.

Having a Virtual Pastor is a new experience for me LOL and you can tell him for me that I am virtually:) waiting for another post on One Life One Legacy… *grin* His fingers have to be healed up by now, and you had to take him outa the crawl space for the move….

    just saying…. πŸ™‚

Thanks again for the love and support..

    We love you guys…

  11. OK, it isn't the giveaway that persuaded me to write, it was YOUR persistence. I have been reading your blog for probably close to 3 years now. I feel that reading your story has taught me ways to be closer to God…and I thank you for that!
My name is Deana and I am from Virginia (I am an Air Force retiree and my husband is getting ready to retire from the Air Force, so being able to say I am "From" somewhere still feels weird). πŸ™‚ My favorite color is dark blue.
    Thank you for your blog!!
    Dedana

  12. I don't lurk you, I LOVE you! haha now that was silly! Someday I am going to fly out to see you (or you can always come back to Dallas and see me. Chick-fil-a's on me!) and we will go shopping for a memorial box together. Deal? Favorite color. Blue, blue, and more blue!
