The Surgeon’s Plan

Thank you all for praying.  It might sound perfunctory to say that, but really, we mean it from the bottom of our hearts.
I can’t imagine life without a
personal relationship with Christ and
an understanding of the power of prayer!
Ruby had many tests since arriving at the ER yesterday.
This morning the neurosurgeon took took fluid off her shunt and sent that to the lab.  He also tested her shunt and it is functioning.
Then he injected her brain with dye through the shunt and we took her down for another CT scan with contrast.
She was not allowed to eat anything till the surgeon decided what was the best route to take.
This afternoon he came to meet with us and showed us all the results of various CT scans and MRI’s she has had since landing in the United States.   The list of MRI and CT scan results takes up a computer screen – and that’s just for those!
 Sweet baby girl.
He told us that he had moved the surgery to tomorrow so he would have time to think about what is the best course of action with Ruby.  Her situation is certainly extreme and not seen often by neurosurgeons in the United States.
Ruby’s surgeon today consulted other physicians and he has decided that tomorrow Ruby will have her 5th brain surgery {remember she had one in Uganda} to solve the current situation.   He is just not sure which direction he will take to accomplish it.
This is the part where we need you.
Please.
Would you please pray for God’s Holy wisdom to descend on him so that he would know that he knows that he knows which is the most effective and safe avenue to take for our sweet Ruby girl?
Not exactly sure when surgery will be,
but probably somewhere around 3pm Phoenix time tomorrow.
Thank you in advance.
Graham nicknamed her Rubilicious right after she got home from the hospital.  So endearing.  As I gaze at her sleeping snuggled up next to me in this hospital bed, I am overcome with emotion.  Our little Ruby Grace needs a touch from God’s healing hand.
Thank you in advance for praying for this little treasure of ours.
We are forever grateful.

  1. Oh Linny – lifting you all up. Praying for wisdom and Holy guidance for the surgeon and that the Great Physician will work in a mighty way to heal dear Ruby Grace.

  2. I pray that God shows His might hand in this situation. God in His infinite wisdom is able to send direction. Have faith that this too is in God's hands and watch Little Miss Ruby defy the odds. God is good. Just praise Him in spite of this and know that in Indianapolis, IN you have some prayer warriors, warring in the spirit for Ms. Ruby.

  3. I am sorry that Ruby needs yet another brain surgery, yes I will pray for the Lord to give the surgeons His wisdom, His direction, and for protection for Ruby through this.

  7. Praying for sweet Ruby and for wisdom for the doctor. I am sure the surgeon wants to do his very best. I read this out loud to my husband and he started praying immediately. So amazing how many lives this tiny girl has touched already.

  8. Praying, thinking of jumping tomorrows Allegiant flight down there (it's dirt cheap and nonstop from MT!). I love her nickname too! Will be watching for updates as you are able! Take care!

  11. was up @ 2am & Father brought sweet Ruby to mind.He also brought James 3:17 to mind.(But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.) Praying that the surgeon will have heavenly wisdom that is filled w/ peace about his decision, and believing that he will be operating from a place of mercy & love for Ruby Grace. Hugs from SC!

  12. Prayers for Ruby Grace and your family.
I have a friend whose daughter has a severe case of hydrocephalus. She is currently in the hospital after having what is around her 190th surgery. She's 15. She's a very brave girl, but the last 6 months or so have been bad, and she's really due for a break.
Hopefully your blog will help spread the word about this disease and funds can be raised to find a cure.
    God bless you all.
    Carol
