“Then I Saw His Face”

Isn’t it crazy how anxious we are as humans to see a face?

It’s almost beyond understanding.

Think back to when we were young.  You hear that a friend has “met someone”…and the only thing we think is, “What do they look like?”

I’m right there with you.

I remember talking to Lisa about setting Karl and Autumn up.  I asked her, “Do you have a picture of him?”  When I saw his picture, I could see them together…and my heart smiled.

And so it is with our newest little guy.

A few friends around the world have been praying in the midst of the process and a couple said, “Do you have a picture we can see?”  haha.

I get it.

When we first heard about him I asked, “Do you have a picture of him?”

Down deep nothing mattered, but somehow we connect when we see a picture, don’t we?

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO…..

Knowing you all would be waiting, I thought it was time…

The big reveal….our newest son…..

Oh!!

Did you mean you want to see the front of him?

You want to see his face?

Ooooooohhhhh.

Okay.

{You do realize that if I was really, really cruel I would totally make you all beg. *giggle*}

Doesn’t he just look like a perfect fit?

PS And when I told the kids to turn around for the picture taking, they were like, “HUH?”  I just couldn’t help myself though, it’s in my DNA and ya’ know you can’t change that no matter how hard ya’ try.

  2. OH YES, YES, YES, he is a perfect fit!!!!!!!

    🙂 🙂

I don't know why, but when I see his face with your children, I got tears.

sometimes when the Lord makes it so clear for us to do something, and we obey, then it helps us in the long term when things go rough, we remember who called us to do this thing in the first place? it is Him.

"He does not call the equipped, He equips the called"

I pray that you all will be much blessed by him as he is by you all 🙂

p.s. thank you for commenting over at my blog, I appreciate it 🙂

  11. Yeah! He does look like a perfect fit! What a sweet face…sitting next to another sweet face, and another and another and another sweet face! Congrats to the whole family on your newest treasure!!!

  12. OH, bless his heart. Yes, seeing a face puts it all in perspective. A face we can see when we pray for healing of his heart, coming from a foreign country and then a disruption. A face we can see when we remember the family who had seen that face a long time before they became his parents, and will still see his face when they remember him.
    Prayers for you all!

  13. I guess that will teach me …. I mean, I take just a little-bitty break from your blog so that I can keep up with two other friends' blogs covering their childrens' life-changing events (surgery & hospitalization) and come back to find you have added a new little guy to your family! Then again, unlike in times past, you didn't snag me with one of your cliffhanging posts. I read it from start to finish tonight. I DO remember reading the "29 words" post and couldn't figure it out. You, Linny, are very sneaky. 😉 So glad y'all have welcomed this handsome boy into your fold. I've always hoped a little boy who came into my childhood family found peace, love, and healing before it was too late. I'll be remembering all of you in my prayers. God bless you all.

  14. Linny,
You are such an inspiration to those of us who read your blog. I rarely comment – but please know that I pray for your sweet family often and love reading your updates. Your newest son is such a handsome little man – and a perfect fit for your family I'm sure.
I wanted to ask for a prayer request if you will. Our family is currently in the midst of change with my husband's job. He has a new job offer that would take us to a different city and we are praying that it will work for us financially. Many things have to "happen" for it all to work out. I know you all have moved -and change is never easy. Funny thing is – is that I really want this to happen! 🙂 The $$ aspect of it all just seems impossible. I know we must trust in the Lord and know that he will provide. Please join our family in praying that this opportunity will work out for us. It would give our family something "new" that we've have wanted for a long time.
Peace and Blessings to you all!

  15. Be still my heart! He is handsome for sure. He looks like he has always been there, like the piece that was missing before. I am so happy for you guys and still praying for sure!

  16. Yes it looks like he has always been part of the Saunders family.
I scrolled down really slow and saw the back of the head picture and thought "Here we go Linny is going to tempt us again and make us wait!!!" I was thinking about the comment and continued to scroll and you had been SO KIND and given us a front picture too!!
Thank you. Look forward to finding out his name. Love, hugs and prayers to you all XXX

  17. It's hard to recognize who the 'new guy' is because he looks just like he belongs!!! Seriously, I was like 'not that one, not that one, not that one, not that one, OH! there he is!' Ha Ha! Glad he's settling in and doing good. Poor guy has been through a lot, but he's home now! Just imagine ALL the things GOD had to orchestrate to get him to you. Beauty for ashes . . .

  18. Perfect fit is right – I think his smile says it all! Congratulations to you all!!
(and what ARE the girls doing?? They made me laugh looking at the two of them!!)

  19. Gorgeous, beautiful, bright eyed treasure. So happy for you all. But Linny, when it is appropriate and ok to do so. . . details, woman, we need details!!! Would love to know more about this little guy :-). Love, Chenning

  20. Yep, the new guys's face is just beaming – he definitely belongs! Can't wait to meet him whenever we next head your way.

P.S. I love the nickname Nee but you should be ready for the day when he'll be called by his middle name, or even a nickname of his middle name (Jud?)– just a hunch.
