Choosing Joy

Today I am choosing JOY.

It is a choice, right?

Cause if I didn’t choose joy, I would be walking around in complete frustration.  Grrrr.

And some of the things that make my heart happy are balloons….driving down the road, I sound like a little kid when I start squealing, “Look at the balloons guys!! LOOK!!  Aren’t they gorgeous?”

[Hence the picture of balloons, cause when I found it, it just makes my heart smile.  Aren’t they so happy looking?]

No doubt, the Lord must have something A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. in store,
because I have never, ever, ever had such trouble getting
something working on my blog.

I have worked and worked, using different computers, emails back and forth, wireless systems –

SERIOUSLY!!

If I was one given to high blood pressure, it would be spiking over the last two days!

But I am determined to get this done.  I know the Lord told me to do it and I want to see our Place Called Simplicity orphan-lovin’, God-fearin’, Jesus honorin’ family lovin’ on each other in a very tangible way….

SOOO I am trying one more time, a different system on this post.

I sincerely regret the delay.

If you linked on yesterday’s post, I regret to inform you that you will have to use THIS post and LINK on this Linky below.  Again, once it is linked, approval will be required and nothing will show up immediately until I approve up to 7 {God’s perfect number}.

Remember this Linky is for our Place Called Simplicity friends and pertains to those already assigned to bringing more than one treasure {which means you and Immigration know that you are bringing two or more} and traveling soon and when you get your permission to go, two or more treasures will no longer be orphans!

If you have no idea what I am talking about, you will have to back up and read beginning with He’s Not A Deadbeat Dad Part 1, then Part 2, then Part 3, then Part 4, then the Praise and Prayer posts, and then the questionnaire post.

Thank you for being patient.

Choose Joy with me!

I will choose JOY and THANKFULNESS with you…and together we will rejoice at all that God has done!!

And by the way, should you see some balloons, thank the Lord that your eyes work…because not everyone has the privilege of enjoying the pleasure of bright and beautiful balloons!

  1. I will choose JOY with you, as well! We have felt like we have been under attack by Satan for the past couple of weeks and I just know it's because he does not want us bringing two treasures home! We are so close to traveling and that he is using all stops but I will NOT allow him to defeat me and I will choose to Praise the Lord….even in the storm!!!

  2. I am not God, but after all of this trouble you are having, maybe He is telling you not to be so rigid in the censorship of who links/posts…..just a thought. And by the way I am in category #9…..someone who has a family member (nephew) who is adopted and has helped orphans come home and those who are still in orphanages by donations. And I think you have taught me that there are MANY ways to help others – it may not be "YOUR" way or "MY" way, but hey if we are doing God's will, then we are doing the right thing!

    1. Awww, now come on Mtn Girl…you can't be serious?

I always chuckle when someone has a criticism of my posts but then doesn't even have a true profile name{rather a codename}, doesn't have a blog and they {of course!} don't have an email attached to their profile name. Pretty dang easy to be a critic from the "anonymous" position behind a computer screen. LOL.

I've now written 1,734 posts and honest to goodness, I take my responsibility in blogging seriously, just like I take my relationship with Christ seriously, doing the best I can, living life in our neck of the desert…hearing God speak now for just about 45 years now. No doubt, I miss Him from time to time, but this time, I know, for a doggone fact, I did not miss Him.

Although you are welcome to call my post requirements, "Censorship" Almighty God calls it "stewardship" and although you would call it "rigid" He calls it "obedience to Christ".

And by day's end, it's a sweet relief to my silver-haired soul to know that the only one whose approval matters is the King of King and Lord of Lords – my Savior and best friend – Jesus Christ! Bless you Mtn Girl {who probably is really a man living in the middle of the city of Chicago}. LOL.

  3. Praying that everything will begin to work properly. I'm guessing Satan really does not want this wonderful idea to happen…but he's fighting a lost battle! Praying you will get a super nights sleep…and Ruby too!

  4. Aw, I'm so sorry that you're having trouble 🙁
But thank you soooo much, Miss Linny, for doing this! Although I am unable to give at the moment, I will be praying for all these wonderful families. It was great reading all their answers. You can really see the love all these families have for the Lord and for their children.

  5. Anyone else as stumped as I am? Trying to figure out who we should help out…all? One? I think we will take another day or two to pray before we make the decision. PS: Praying for each family, that their every need would be met.

  6. Thank you Linny so much for your faithfulness, teaching spirit, obedience, love, and generosity. Our family is so honroed to be chosen for your list. We are praying our two boys home from China next month and trusting God to provide all that we can NOT do ourselves. We need more Christians like you speaking out. May the Lord bless all 7 of our families and may He bless you tenfold for this opportunity. In His Service – Sherry Patton (Two Handsome Guys from China) http://www.adventure4eli.blogspot.com

  7. Yah! After some more praying, consulting my hubby, getting to know each recipient…made the decision! Continuing to pray that the each families needs will be met!

  8. Linny & friends,
I couldn't sleep last night, I was so excited! You just have no idea what this means to all of us recipients of this special gift. As I said to you before Linny, just this opportunity to share our story with your readers and share in the joy with other adoptive families is a blessing in and of itself that I will always remember as a significant part of our journey. Thank you for the opportunity to share our need. I've loved reading about the other 6 families. It's neat how we are adopting from all over the world. I cant wait to see all that God's going to do. Blessings to you all and many thanks,

    1. I agree with Rebbecca ….i couldn't sleep either! Then when i got on line this morning i was excited to see there was a family adopting from Haiti just like us then when i clicked on to read their story our family blog came up. I clicked off and tried again….it was us!! I woke everyone in the house with my tears of joy….the didn't know what was going on 🙂 thank you so much for allowing us to share our adoption journey!

  9. Dear Linny, I'm sorry- I know this comment doesn't exactly fit here, but our family needs prayer about something and I wanted to ask you and everyone who will, to pray. As of Thursday morning, we were only about 3 weeks for traveling for our son in China.Just a few hours laster we received a phone call that placed fear in our hearts. We were told that we may not be able to bring our son home. To say that we have already fallen in love with this little boy is an understatement. We are praying for a miracle here. That not only will we be able to adopt our son, but we will be able to continue exactly where we left off. We treasure your prayers and I can't wait to share on my blog how our Lord crushed this mountain. Love, Kim

    1. Oh Kim
We will lift this up and lay it down before the Lord. Knowing that God is good…
the enemy may try but he will not win….The Father is aware!
      2 Samuel 22:17-19
      He reached down from on high and took hold of me;
he drew me out of deep waters.
He rescued me from my powerful enemy,
from my foes, who were too strong for me.
They confronted me in the day of my disaster,
but the Lord was my support

      laurie

  10. I have to agree with Rebbecca …i couldn't sleep either! And when i got on line this morning to see who was picked i was excited to see there was a family adopting from Haiti just like us then when i clicked on to read our family blog opened up! 11. Ok so I have chosen my family and made a contribution (probably should mae a bigger one, but waiting to discuss $$ with my husband). Anyhow, should we write on the blogs of the family we chose to donate to that we made a donation from Linny's "No Deadbeat Dad" series?

    1. It would be awesome it you would tell them that you are responding from Our Place Called simplicity! I am sure it would be a great encouragement – and Tara, thank you so much!! You are a blessing…no matter your gift size – your heart for the orphan is being stored up in Heaven – thank you – and behalf of the orphans you are helping to bring home – THANK YOU!! xo

  12. Linny,
I just need to thank you for linking us up to our A Place Called Simplicity Family. The donations have been a huge blessing to our family, and the comments have been so encouraging. We are getting ever closer to getting our girls HOME, again!! One more exciting piece in this faithful-God-supply-story…we just found out that our family was chosen for a Lifesong for Orphans matching grant; so, donations from today on are DOUBLED up to $2500. Thank you so much again! Your mentoring and voice for the orphan have been a huge blessing to us.

  13. It is with great joy I get to tell everyone we made it out of IBESR (Haiti's social services) and get to travel to meet our two precious boys for the first time. (and go to court!) We'll get to spend thanksgiving with them….November 23rd will be THREE years that our little guys have been in the orphanage. They've seen so many kids come and go…soon it will be their turn! Praising God!! Now that we've exited IBESR we need to mail the balance due of $14,000. Please continue to pray for the financial needs of our adoption!

    Thanks for all the prayers
