MBM: A Tender Story

This Memorial Box Monday is going to be a tad different, because every now and then, God knits together something so beautiful and it causes us to stand back in amazement and wonder.

This story actually begins back in August of 2009.  I had been writing Memorial Box Monday stories for over a year and decided to have a giveaway – wanting everyone out there to own a Memorial Box.  156 people entered the contest.

And about that time, we had just driven across the country on our alleged RV trip.  If you missed the RV trip, it’s okay, we missed it too.  Cause the RV limped, gasped and sputtered barely making it to Colorado Springs {about 400 miles from home}

We had to leave it there, rent a little car, pile in and continue across the country.  I guess it could have been better dubbed, “The RV Trip From You-Know-Where”.   We still laugh about it and shake our heads, “What in the world were we thinkin’?”  {And yes, clearly, buying a 30 year old RV would cause many to agree – ” that clearly we weren’t thinkin'”}

Anyway, once we left the RV behind in Colorado Springs, the real trip was underway.  We had a blast, all cozied up in that little SUV we rented.   And on the trip I had an idea.  Why not hunt for 10 Memorial Boxes to give away?   I asked the Lord if we could find 10.  Of course, He’s totally into Memorial Boxes and people remembering His faithfulness so He provided them actually without a lot of looking.  It was miraculous and crazy fun!

When we returned home, I blogged that, instead of choosing a single winner – all 10 finalists had won a box!

And that would be where this tender story actually begins…

Because in the list of winners was first place:

Tina

and

fourth place:

Pink {aka Terry}

but Pink being addicted to Pink, actually often refers to herself as “Pink” and that’s what I’ve called her since I’ve known her.

When I was addressing their packages to ship to them, I discovered that they were both in the same city!  What are the odds?

Only God.

And yes, He was up to something.

Because of the Memorial Box giveaway, Tina and Pink were reading the comments and found out that they were both in the same area.  Eventually a few emails were exchanged.

And Tina and I would talk on the phone now and then.  Pink and I would talk on the phone now and then.  Our paths all just kind of intersected a bit here and there.

A couple of years passed,  Tina and her family moved, but this move brought them to the other side of the huge city, and now Tina and Pink were almost neighbors!  And somewhere in there Pink and Tina decided it was time to get together in person.

They texted me with a picture of their meeting.  They were pretty tickled.  Maybe almost “tickled Pink”.  haha.

Right around the time that Tina and Pink met, Pink found out that her cancer had returned – for the 3rd time.   Not only was a friendship birthed, but little did Pink know – a support system like none other.    What many don’t know is that Pink has had a lot of loss in her life.  More than most could even imagine.  She needed someone who would be like “family” to her.

And Tina is just that kind of friend.  The kind everyone longs for when faced with uncertainties, because Tina just selflessly loves.  She loves God first and foremost…and then selflessly, Tina, loves others.  Tina is a strong woman of God.  He knew she would be His hands and feet.  He knew He could trust her.

Since Tina selflessly loves, that’s just what she did when she learned of Pink’s battle with cancer.  During the chemo treatments,  Tina would spend the night with her.  She wanted to be right there if Pink should need her in the night.

At one point, Pink was not feeling very worthy of God’s love.  Tina did her best to point her to the truths of God’s word, reassuring her over and over and over that she was indeed ‘worthy’.  Eventually Tina wrote it out and Pink had it tattooed {in Tina’s exact writing} on her wrist so that she is reminded day in and day out.   She is worthy of His great love.

Yes, sweet Pink….although your life has not been easy, He loves you and you are, indeed, worthy of all of His love.

Pink told me the other day, that she couldn’t imagine how she would have made it this far without her friend Tina.  And to think that they were brought together by a Memorial Box giveaway is kind of mind-boggling.  Out of 156 entries, the Lord would have it narrowed down to 10…and feeling the urgency to buy all 10 each a box…enabling them to see that they were in the same city.  Then God would move Tina and her family to the neighborhood around the corner from Pink.

Extraordinarily faithful God.

Orchestrating events behind the scenes to accomplish His good purposes.

He knew how much Pink would need Tina and He also knew that Tina was a willing vessel and would be so blessed by her friendship with Pink.

So although this is really their story, it all started with a Memorial Box giveaway…

And so today I wanted to honor these two precious ladies….

and now I have a favor to ask of each of you?

Pink’s third round with cancer has been relentless.  This third battle has not gone so well.  She has stopped all treatments.  The cancer is now in her brain, behind her eye, in her lungs.   I cry as I type.  This precious woman, loved by all who know her, except the Lord intervene will meet her Savior way sooner than she should.

I do know that in the midst of the battle, precious Pink would be really blessed by your encouragement.

The only way I can figure to effectively make that happen, is to ask you all if you would be willing to pray for Pink and would you be willing to leave a comment for her to read?

It’s okay that you don’t know her.  I do.  And you know that when I say Pink is a blessing to all who know her, you know I mean it.  She has blessed my life, personally, many times over.

Would you leave a note of encouragement for her to read?

May God bless each of you for blessing our friend Pink today.  Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.   {Tina is actually going to link her own version of today’s story in the entries below.}

  1. My sweet sister "Pink";
It is such a privilege to call you my sister even though we've never met!! What a blessing to see that God specifically, intentionally, purposefully put someone as awesome as Tina directly in your life so that you may be reminded of His love, even on your hardest days and when the enemy is trying to kick you back down. You are so precious in His sight. I will keep you in my prayers.

  2. Pink,

God has been telling you this, but sometimes you might need to hear it over and over again:

You are loved. I know every hair on your head. YOU are of utmost importance to Me . You are never never alone. You are LOVED unconditionally. I AM there. I AM always there. And I will always be there.

    Repeat

  3. I wasn't going to leave a comment because, well, its easy to just say a quick prayer and move on. But the Lord prompted me to come back and just let you know that I am praying for you. It is so easy to feel unworthy. We all feel that more often than we'd like to admit. My prayer is that God will show you just how worthy you are of His love. May God Bless you.
    Love,
    Cindy

  4. Hi Pink!

I will never look at the color pink the same way again! What a beautiful testimony of friendship you have with Tina. Our mountain moving God orchestrating your friendship is just so indescribable. I pray that you are encouraged and lifted up in joy, comfort, and peace. It is my humble privilege to lift you in prayer! You are worthy! You are loved! You are never, ever forsaken! You never walk alone! May God remind you of each of these things in a tangible way all the days to come! "All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us." God bless you sweet sister…

    With love and blessings,

    Teresa

  5. Dear Pink,
Your story is an amazing one of God's love and of your courage. I am so glad Linny posted it here so we all could have the honor of supporting and praying for you. I truly do not believe God wants you sick and fighting such a horrible disease. We live in a fallen world and the enemy uses all at his disposal to come against us. Right now I pray that the cancer in you will die down to the roots. In fact I curse the cancer and in the name of Jesus I pray for your healing. Lord, our provider, thank you for sending Tina to Pink to love on her in person. Lord, our healer, I ask that as the Lord who heals, as the one who sent his son to die for our sins and our diseases as stated in Is. 53, you will bring healing to Pink. In Jesus name. Amen.
You are in my thoughts and prayers.

  6. Sweet Pink,

I can only imagine how hard your battle has been. I am so thankful that he has placed dear friends in your path to help and comfort you. YOU are worthy. I thank God for you. I remember when you won the Memorial Box, I remember because of your name PINK. I am praying right now for God to be with you. I pray that your days are filled with happiness and are pain free. Bless you sweet friend.

  7. Pink,

I'm praying that you would feel and know the Father's love, right now. That the sweet Holy Spirit would speak peace into your heart and mind. That you would lean into the arms of our friend, Jesus and let him hold you through the storm.

    Blessings,
    Mandy

Pink, from what I have read you are truly an amazing woman, a fighter, and a wonderful friend. I am praying for you!

  24. how so beautiful… I love how the Lord works in bringing needed friends across our paths!

Dearest Pink, I was thinking of what words I can say to share with you to encourage you, to let you know that you are much loved, and this came into my mind, "What a Friend we have in Jesus"

I hope this song comforts you as you know that you have a Special Friend in Jesus πŸ™‚ ((hugs))

What a friend we have in Jesus,
all our sins and griefs to bear!
    What a privilege to carry
    everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
all because we do not carry
    everything to God in prayer.

    Have we trials and temptations?
    Is there trouble anywhere?
    We should never be discouraged;
take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful
who will all our sorrows share?
    Jesus knows our every weakness;
take it to the Lord in prayer.

Are we weak and heavy laden,
cumbered with a load of care?
    Precious Savior, still our refuge;
take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer!
    In his arms he'll take and shield thee;
thou wilt find a solace there.

p.s. I was wondering where this thought/song came from and I found out that Linny did blog about it on Sunday 23 September, and there is a music video that comes with it…

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding…"

  29. Dear Pink,

What a lovely lady you are! Your eyes sparkle in those pictures and your personality leaps off the computer. I think you must be very wonderful to know! The fact is, I WILL get to know you one day. We will meet in heaven and I am jealous that you may get there first. The known is so tempting and I understand wanting to stay here, but really, you're going HOME! That is a glorious promise! Jesus is going to welcome you and whisper His special name for you, the one that proves he KNOWS you into your ear. You are going to be filled with joy and dance with abandon! You are going to be free of pain, free of fatigue, free of fear…FREE! May the Lord richly bless your time here on earth. May He fill you with peace, grace you with His presence, and delight you with moments of joy! May He surround you with kindness in the people who meet your needs and may you feel loved. Sweet blessings to you, my sister. Hold on to Jesus!

  30. Hi Pink,

Immediately when I read that you call yourself pink, I was prompted to investigate the spiritual (by biblical standards) significance of the color. Here's what I found: Right Relationship with God; Power; Healing; Innocence; Faith…

Praise God! Just allow those minister to you. There is a reason you are drawn to pink. It's because it speaks to who you are!

I also wanted to look at your name and you may know this already, but your name Terry is derived from Theresa, which means Harvester. What comes to mind is the word reap. "Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?" Matthew 6:26… As I read this, I can't help but see that the birds don't reap…but you do! Because from your beginning to your end, there has been seed, time and harvest and you have only to find out, for eternity, what you have gleaned in His fields and "how much better you are in Father's eyes, than they!"

You are loved. You are safe. You are in my prayers.

  31. Hi Pink,

I am sorry to hear of your battles with cancer. I am praying for you, and want to just say that you are loved and worthy. I know your heart is breaking and as hard as it is to see sometimes, there is beauty in the breaking. I am so glad you have Tina and that God intertwined your paths. I pray that you feel his warmth, love and peace within you always. That you may find strength on the days you feel you have none.

    Heather

  32. Hi Pink,

I am sorry to hear of your battles with cancer and want you to know I will keep you in my prayers. I know that you have some heart break and tough times and it is hard to see it sometimes but there is beauty in the breaking. I am glad that God caused your path and Tina's to cross. I pray that you feel his warmth, love and peace with you always, every moment of the day. I pray he continues to give you strength on days when you feel you have none. You are worthy, you are loved, you are adored, you are a princess in the kingdom of God, you are HIS.

    Heather

  33. Ms. Pink,
I don't have many words I can say other than I'm praying for you and to always remember God is in charge! He will be our help, our guide, the 'lamp to our feet and the light in our path' and our protector.
I would like to share my favorite verse with you. This is the verse that I always go back to in difficult times or when I just need o be reminded that He's here.

    Isaiah 41:10
    Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
    I will strengthen you,
    Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.

Love and prayers from your sister,
    Gabby

  34. Dearest Pink…here in CT I am praying for you. What a precious story of God's love! And not a surprise that God would use Linny to bring it to fruition. I don't have the right words at all, but I know I have a "right" heart, and I will keep lifting you up in prayer, until the day our Lord lifts you into His arms. And if that should be before MY time to go, then give Him an extra big hug from me, okay? And I will do the same for you. I always say to live each day to it's fill, because only God knows the number of our days! πŸ™‚

Love and hugs, and prayers…Nancy J in CT.

  47. What an inspirational story! I am praying for you Pink! You are WORTHY! If you haven't read it, pick up "Do you think I'm Beautiful?" by Angela Thomas. We as women struggle with this idea and the answer is, YES! We are beautiful, worthy, and wonderfully made. Blessings to you and your beautiful friend, Tina.

  48. Dear Pink,

Though I may not know you, I do know a Pink in real life…my precious fifteen year old niece has always gone by the name Pink too. So I smiled when I saw your name and when I think of her, I'll be reminded of you. You have fought the good fight… and someday the Lord will grab you in a big ole hug and tell you "Well done, good and faithful servant." He loves you so much, dear Pink. His ways don't make sense to us…and I am sorry you have had to suffer so much like you have. I am sorry that I never knew you in real life… somehow I just know I missed out on that one. Pink, keep shining on for your Maker, till he calls you home. You are indeed WORTHY of his love.

  49. Dear Pink,

Today as I pray in my bed a time zone away from Texas in Pennsylvania I picture your beautiful smile as posted on Linny's blog. Praying for His peace that passes all understanding to guard your heart and mind as you seek shelter in Him. You are loved.

    Jennifer in PA

  50. Dear Pink,

  51. Pink and Tina- your story of friendship has touched me so.

Pink- I was in tears reading this…maybe the cancer thing is a bit raw for us since my MIL was just diagnosed with ovarian cancer 3 days ago. So now when I pray for her and her battle, I will pray for you and yours. My sister's SIL's MIL is also battling cancer and she gave me this verse. Romans 15:13 "May the God of hope give you peace and joy as you trust in Him." I think God was also using you to remind me that I am worthy as well. I'm studying Genesis in BSF right now and had just been reading about how we were created in God's likeness, not in body, but in spirit. That God invests the human body with a special dignity. We're so special that He formed us with his own hands and breathed his own breath into us. Anyhow, I've always struggled with this picture of us being made in his likeness and I think between this study and your story, God's spelling it out for me. Thanks so much for allowing Linny to share it. Love, your sister in Christ, Elizabeth in CO

  52. Dear precious Pink, pink is my little 6 yr. old daughters favorite color! Just know that you are loved and cared for and we are Praying for you here in Texas!

  55. Oh Dear Sweet, Worthy, Pink,
What a beautiful blessing you are. Your smile radiates off this page. It just blows me away to know that Jesus loved you so much, He gave you Tina just at the perfect time. I pray that you will feel the Lord holding you and hear Him singing over you as you are walking this difficult journey. Today I get the honor of driving someone to a chemo appointment. I have never met her before and I have social anxiety. I know it was God stirring my heart to give her a ride and now that I have read this post this morning I know what I am supposed to do. Love her well during the times I transport her. I will do this for you and for Tina. I will be praying for you. Oh and, my favorite colors are Pink and Orange. πŸ™‚

  56. Pink….
Cancer has or will touch everyone of us in some way… my sister-n- love is one of those. She has the most wonderful sense of peace with it being God's will and he is using her to touch others through this. She is LIVING with cancer as long as God will allow her too… You are a STRONG, CARING and WONDERFUL woman who is resting in the arms of our Savior and touching others through your daily struggles. Will be praying for you…. Love and prayers from Mississippi πŸ™‚

  62. Dearest Pink-a-licious,

Yes, YOU are loved. Not only by our most awesome Father, but by all of us who are lifting your journey to Him in prayer. Pink, you are surrounded by all of us sisters in Christ, some in body, such as your dearie Tina, who was brought to you by Providence, but also, those of us in spirit. Pink is a wonderful color, good choice, girlfriend! In fact, I am going to snatch one of my girlies' hair ribbons right now, and affix it to my wrist – a physical reminder for me. May each of your many physical discomforts along this rocky road be turned into a loving caress to one who needs it at that very moment. Donna in WA

  63. Dear Pink, I wish I could give you a big hug! And a soft, warm blanket and a mug of whatever helps you feel cozy and safe and good. I pray more than anything that God gives you PEACE, that whatever happens and however it happens, that God's peace that passes understanding fills you and comforts you in every way imaginable.

    Love from Shawnee in Kentucky

  64. Sending prayers and love your way Pink.
Praying for a legion of angels to encircle you with support and strength as we all lift your name up in prayer!

  65. Dear Pink,

Linny's story has me crying and in just a few short paragraphs, I feel like I know you. I'll be honest. This morning I was crying out to God that yet another friend of mine had seemingly flaked on our friendship and left me feeling very alone and vulnerable. But reading your story gives me hope. You and Tina found the most beautiful friendship when you weren't even looking, and when you certainly least expected it. I pray that one day I will be as blessed as you both are.

I am praying for your physical healing- this world needs more Pinks!! (As I'm typing this I ready Donna's post right above me- I too am going to wear pink today to remind me of you and to remember to pray for you! You are going to be so stinking covered in prayer!!) I love you Sister!!

  67. Dear Pink,

Linny's story has me crying and after just a few brief paragraphs I feel like I know you. I'll be honest. This morning I was just crying out to God, hurt that yet another friend had seemingly flaked on our friendship, leaving me feeling lonely and vulnerable. But just reading about you and Tina gives me hope. You have found the most beautiful friendship when you weren't even looking, and certainly when you least expected it. That gives me encouragement to keep praying and trusting that God has someone out there that can be a friend- for better or worse- to me too.

I am praying for your physical healing, Pink!! As I was typing this, I was reading Donna's comment above this and will be doing the same thing- I too will wear pink to remind me to pray for you and lift you up! This world needs more Pinks!! God bless you!!!

  68. PInk,

You are amazing and you ARE indeed so incredibly worthy of His love. Praying for you to KNOW His immense love for you and to more than ever before really feel His arms around you! xoxo

  69. Dear Pink,

from now on I will pray for you.Be encouraged with the words of
Zephaniah 3:17 : Jehovah thy God is in the midst of thee, a mighty
    One who will save; He will rejoice over thee with joy;
    Pink, you are worthy!
    May God bless you
    Jane

  70. Pink you are precious, lovely and beloved by the Father. May you know the peace that passes all understanding and may it guard your heart and mind.

  71. Pink – Prayers for you and your family as you go through this difficult time. My husband passed from cancer two years ago and one of the things that will always stay with me was how excited he was to go home. Of course he was devastated that he had to leave me, the kids, and our family and friends, but he was going home! He was so excited to be able to meet his Jesus, see his family and friends who had passed. I pray that as your time to go home gets near that you are excited as well. We are only meant to be here for such a short time, sometimes much shorter than we would like, but you have obviously touched many lives here at our earthly home and your memory and love will be felt forever.

Tina – You are amazing… Someone told me the caregivers of those inflicted with cancer and other horrible diseases have a special place just for them. Your love, friendship, and devotion is a wonderful reminder of God's love.

  72. Pink – One of the things that struck me most when my husband was sick with cancer was his complete joy that he was finally going home. He was devastated that he could not remain here with me, the kids, and our family and friends, but his excitement of meeting his Jesus and the faith that he had were contagious. Our time here is so short… shorter than we would like. But you have touched many lives. Your memory and love transcends all. I pray for strength, grace, and peace for you. You are going home!

Tina – someone told me just after my husband went home that the caregivers of those stricken with cancer and other horrible diseases have a special place just for them. Your love, devotion, and friendship surely is a blessing to Pink during this time of change for her. While we don't always feel lucky that we have to watch a loved one suffer, we do get to watch the miracle of God's love surround us. May God's comfort and peace envelop you.

  73. Pink, you are so very loved by the One who formed you so perfectly and beautifully. I love, love, love that you have named yourself Pink. What fun to pick a beautiful color and to surround yourself with it. There are these roses I see at the grocery store across the border where I shop that are the most perfect shade of pink. I've never seen that shade anywhere else, and I always wish I could buy them (but I'm not allowed to take that kind of thing across the border). When I see them now, I will remember your story and pray for Jesus to be holding you close. Pink, I hope you know this side of eternity just how much you are loved and delighted in. I can so relate to the feelings of not being worthy, and it boggles my mind that the One who made me loves me enough to rejoice over me and sing over me. He does that for you, too, Pink. Oh beautiful Pink, I pray that you find Jesus-in-skin from people around you in the coming days, and that you sense His love for you in every moment. May the Lord bless you and keep you. May He shine His face upon you and give you peace.

I don't know how this could be arranged – Linny, perhaps I could mail it to you or you could help me get it to Pink? – but my former family doctor has some music he has written that would be the perfect companion for this part of your journey. In case you want to look it up ahead of time, his name is Steve Mitchinson, and the cd he's written is called Giver of Life. It's available on iTunes, but if someone wants to help me figure out how to mail it directly to Pink, I'm happy to get a copy from Steve directly and mail it out as a gift. Steve is a doctor who just happens to be gifted with the talent to write and sing music. You probably haven't heard of him, but you've probably sung a song he wrote with Brian Doerksen at one time or another. He wrote Giver of Life specifically for those on the kind of journey you are on, Pink, and it is full of reminder after reminder of Who holds us, and where our Home really is. When I listened to it after suffering a great loss, it felt to me just like a lullaby. The kind of lullaby that Jesus would sing over me. Linny, if you can help me get a copy of it to Pink by giving me some type of address to use, please email me at saraorange1974 (at) yahoo (dot) com.

  74. Pink and Tina,

I am praying Isaiah 26:3 for both of you.

"You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you."

When I was caring for my aunt (who had cancer), this was the verse that sustained me. Well that and Romans 8:18 "I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us."

I am so grateful that God gave you each other to share in life.

    God Bless

  75. Pink,
Praying for you and standing in awe of your amazing strength!!
Your life has touched so many people! How awesome is our God to use us so mightily when we are at our weakest. Praying that the Holy Spirit fills you with His peace that passes all understanding. Please know that we are believing for your healing. We will rejoice with you weather its on this side of heaven or the other!
I'm painting my nails pink tonight to that I'll be reminded of you throughout the day!! You go Girl!!
    Sheri

  76. Pink, you have a beautiful smile! I cannot imagine the journey you are on, but He knows. He knows it all and you are definitely worth of His love and watch care over you. Thank you for allowing Linny to share your story. May you rest in His arms and savor the love being sent to you from Christian friends all around the world. With love and prayers from Missouri…..Jocelyn

  77. Pink,

My prayer for you is that you know how much God adores you and how He is with you every moment of the day. May you feel His love, comfort, strength and peace during this very difficult time.

Matthew 11:28-30 Come to me, all you who are weary and find life burdensome, and I will refresh you. Take my yoke upon your shoulders and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble of heart. Your souls will find rest, for my yoke is easy and my burden light.

Have you read that book Pinkalicious before? You should,it sounds like you would like with your love of Pink. It is so cute. It's a favorite of my daughter's and mine. I will think of you and pray for you when we read it.

    God be with you.

    Margy

  78. Pink today I wore pink (and i am not a pink type of girl) as a reminder to think and pray for you. As I was doing my devotions this morning the Lord lead me to Deuteronomy 6:4-9 4 "Listen, Israel! The Lord our God is the only true God! So love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and strength. Memorize his laws and tell them to your children over and over again. Talk about them all the time, whether you’re at home or walking along the road or going to bed at night, or getting up in the morning. Write down copies and tie them to your wrists and foreheads to help you obey them. Write these laws on the door frames of your homes and on your town gates. It reminded me of you… writing "You are Worthy" one your wrist. We are praying in SC for you Pink. You are a beautiful daughter of the Lord!

  79. Pink, you are surely a blessing to Linny, Tina and all of us who have read your story. You are so loved!! You have been blessed beyond measure. God loves you, every hair on your head. Your friends love you and your brothers and sisters in Christ love you.

I pray the Lord our God to put His healing hands on you. To heal your body and rejuvenate your spirit. We will rejoice with you the love He has for you. I pray He will not just let you touch the hem of his garment for healing, but will wrap His arms around you and hold you close to His bosom, fulfilling all promises. You are Worthy! You are loved! You are blessed! Kristi

  80. Pink, praying for you from London. You have the warmest, most beautiful smile- makes me wish I knew you in person. May God give you the strength to overcome whatever comes your way. God bless you! All my love, Foma

  83. Terry, Linny and Sweet Sis Tina,

It's just so AMAZING how the Lord weaves and intertwines lives together! Thanks to all three of you for allowing God to use each one of you in such a special way! My sweet husband, and Tina's brother, Fritz, preached on "The Greatest of These is Love" on Sunday. You are loved by God Himself and by each other and it is the greatest thing! Terry, our family continues to pray for you for strength and healing. So glad you got to know Tina, because she's a wonderful friend! Tin, thank you for being there for Terry! Linny, thanks for your generous, memorial box give aways! Jesus, thank you for making it all happen! I know it brings Glory to You! Love, love, love all your hearts!

  84. Pink, I'm praying for you from Georgia. May He be your refuge and your fortress during this time–your Great Physician and Prince of Peace. It's apparent that you are a woman of great love who is greatly loved. You are a living testimony of God's faithfulness in all things.

    Much Love,
    Kathie

  85. I hope Pink checks these comments once again even though I'm late in reading. Pink, I have and will be praying alongside each of these women. You are so worthy because he has made you so! I always tell my girls of something when they wear pink. I tell them that not only are they pretty as a princess, but they are Princesses of the Most High King! As are you Ms. Pink.

And thank you Tina. You are being Jesus to Pink and reminding me to be Jesus too.

  86. You are dearly loved! I will pray for you Pink! Just reading this one story about how God orchestrated your friendship with Tina is a clear indication that God is actively and intimately involved in your current situation; He really cares! I will pray that hope and peace would overwhelm your heart! ~ Hope

  87. Pink,
I know I am really late to post, but a couple of days I read this post about you. I've been dropping by Linny's for a few years now. I began thinking about and praying for you….On the night of the 9th, I woke up in the middle of the night and began to pray for you…This song came to my mind and heart. I am thankful God has brought Tina into your life (and your "bestie") to love on you during this difficult season. I am always amazed at how much God really does love us….Here is the song:

    You dance over me,
    While I am unaware.
    You sing all around,
But I never hear the sound.
    Lord, I'm amazed by you
    Lord, I'm amazed by you
    Lord, I'm amazed by you
    How you love me.
    You paint the morning sky
    With miracles in mind
    My hope will always stand
For you hold me in your hand
    Lord I'm amazed by you
    Lord I'm amazed by you
    Lord I'm amazed by you
    How you love me.
    Lord I'm amazed by you
    Lord I'm amazed by you
    Lord I'm amazed by you
    How you love me.
How wide, how deep, how great, is your love for me.
How wide, how deep, how great, is your love for me.

    Lord I'm amazed by you
    Lord I'm amazed by you
    Lord I'm amazed by you
    How you love me.
    Lord you love me.

Know that He is always there…no matter how we feel. May you feel His ever-present arms today. With Much Love, Melanie

  88. Dear Pink,
Immediately this verse came to my mind/heart…
"The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe."
You are safe dear sister….He has you…..
    Love and prayers from Florida,
    meg

  89. I don't know you, but God does. I don't know your heart and your trials and joys, but God does. My God is your God. He will uphold you in this hard time in your life. I know that He is all you will ever need. When your body is failing you and it hurts so bad, God is there. He is good. He loves you and will be there to hold you and encourage you every step of the way. Stay strong and totally rely on Him. Praying for you.
