Maybe It’s….

Emma {who has been working tirelessly beside me,
grabbin’ a lil’ rest with a precious sleeping baby girl….
****
The days have been speeding by as we attempt to settle.
This move has been especially hard on Dw and I.
I’m not exactly sure why.
Maybe it has something to do with the silver hair or lack thereof.
Maybe it has something to do with Christmas hastily approaching.
Maybe it has something to do with the fact that there are 11 of us
and somehow we are still moving a few things of the oldest three as well.
{Are we the only parents still holding stuff for their grown kids or no?}
Or maybe it has something to do with just being 24 days until Emma
moves to Africa.
Maybe it’s just a combination of all of the above.
Whatever it is, we’re weary.
But weary or not, I’m still stickin’ to this:
We love, love, love our new home and are so grateful for the Lord’s provision,
even if it takes especially long to settle in.
And to those who are Facebook friends….
ummm, yeah….we still can’t find the sheets,
and yes, we did check the back of the little black car – ha!
So if you’ve seen a bazillion “sets” of mismatched sheets,
let me know, k?

  1. No, you are certainly not the only ones carrying/storing belongings for children who are adults and moved out on his/her own. We ask ourselves every month or so why, why, why do we still have this stuff. I have no answer, of course, but we do ask ourselves. Ha!

  2. I pray you find your sheets… And perhaps your sanity! Ha! I hate it for you having to move again. I have only moved twice in my life (the second being down the street) and I nearly lost my mind!

  3. Phew…. AWWWW Ruby looks AMAZING! She is SOOO big now!!!!! Love you precious girl! You keep proving all the professionals wrong and being the sweet baby girl you are! <3

  4. Unrelated to this post, but did Lovelyn drop a hint that you are going to be a grandma again (via Abi) in one of her fundraising/shopping posts the other day??? Unless I'm mistaken, congratulations Linny! So happy for all of you! And so excited to watch as Emma's journey unfolds. Will be keeping her safety and upcoming travel in my prayers!

  5. Sweet picture of Emma and Ruby. In a short while Emma will be able to love on so many treasures who don't have anyone to love on. What an amazing journey she will have! Praying for all of her preparations and trip.

    love,
    janet and gang

  6. I'm thinking it's got to be more than the silver hair or lack thereof. 🙂 Honestly. We're not so grey and still have our hair, but have and are going through something that sounds similar and are also weary. Not many talk about post adoption depression, but it's there. Leaves one drained, emotional and weary. I think Satan really likes to attack during or immediately after an adoption, cause lets face it…we're somewhat vulnerable at these times. Also, letting go of your dear Emma is a lose. Grieve in any form is exhausting. Hang in there! This to shall pass! Praying…

  7. Ruby does look amazing!!! So happy for her. It is tough to see your children grow up and move away. Such a bitter sweet time for you Linny. God bless you and may He keep your family safe.
