“At The Last Minute”

I shared a few months back about something
the Lord was doing.
We would not have dreamed that we would entertain the
possibilities of moving,
however,
when Ruby’s wheelchair began to impede her
ability to hang out with her sibs
we began to wonder if the Lord was
directing us to a one-level home.
We enjoyed pondering the many possibilities
including buying a less expensive home so we could
share a bit of the proceeds with some really sweet Special Need
orphans who need a permanent home.
In November
I shared the beginning of the story here.
And so this is a bit of a follow-up to the
wonderful things God does.
And this is definitely a Memorial Box story!
Get this:
Remember how God’s word says
in Psalm 25:14 that He whispers secrets to those
who ‘fear’ {reverence and obey} Him?
Well I love, love, love surprises, but really,
I’m not so big into the surprise of wondering when
the house is going to sell.

Come on, who would be??

So I decided to ask the Lord,
“So Lord, I was just wondering if you would mind
telling me when the house is going to sell?”
Instantly He whispered,
“At the
LAST SECOND!”
Well that made me laugh.
The last second.
Of course it would be.
Cause ya’ know, everyone loves to wait
till the last second.
Riiiiight??
Ha!
But hey, He told me
and He doesn’t lie, so there would be no need
to panic or fear.
And anytime either Dw or I seemed to be
getting anxious about our home
not selling, I would remind Dw,
“He said ‘the Last Second’…
and
since it’s not the last second,
I’m guessing it’s not gonna’ sell
anytime soon.”
Buying the new home the contract had been drawn
up so that we had to have our home
sold by February 15th or they would put
our new home on the market and
begin to show it {with us living in it}.
So I was guessing that our old home would sell February 15th
cause that would be “the Last Second”.
Then in February Dw mentioned that he
had talked to the owners of the home we were
buying and they said that they would change the
date till March 15th since the market
was just picking up.
I told Dw, “NOOOOOOOO!”
He was like, “Whyyyyyy?”
“Because it moves ‘the Last Second’
until March now.”
UGH.
So when
I was heading to Africa at the end of February
we heard that there had been some showings
and an offer was coming.
Wow.
This is so cool.
And the Lord whispered,
“Don’t get all worked up!  It’s not the Last Second.”
Haha.
True enough,
the offer came, we countered and the people
were unable to come up.
Another verbal offer came which we rejected.
And as Dw was heading to Africa
days before Emma’s wedding we heard we
had yet another offer coming.
When he landed in Europe,
there was indeed an offer in his email.
It was solid, but not high enough.
So we countered.
He flew and landed in Africa
and we were without power.
We went to a coffee shop to download
the email and as Dw went to load all his
emails sure enough the email came in
saying that the people had accepted
our counter.
Our home was sold.
And guess what came in the exact same
batch of emails??
An email from the owner of the home
we were buying which read,
“We have some people who are very
interested in the home you are living in
and since you haven’t sold your home
we would like to show your home today.”
“Today?”
Yes, today.
The exact same batch of emails.
One saying our home was sold
and one asking to show the home
we were buying and living in.
Dw forwarded him a copy of our brand-spankin’ new
contract and said, “No need.”
And that’s what I would
call
“The Last Minute”.
When He speaks, He speaks truth.
And that’s what we call
“The Last Minute”.
Good-bye old home…
You brought many wonderful memories…
That we will always hold dear….

We are so grateful to God’s provision….

And are thrilled that we now have a one-level home….
Cause for our family:

  1. Love how you regularly post about Jesus' supernatural work in your home. What a gift to have the special assurance that the sale of your house came just when He said. What a provision.

  2. So glad to hear this rest of the story. I am glad you have one level now.
It was fun to 'meet' Dw and a couple of the treasures via your video.
Love from Sandy in the UK
