People Can Argue…..

Throughout my writing I have eluded to my early years of heartache, pain and difficulty.
And once upon a time, many, many years ago I lived in fear of someone knowing
all that had happened to me.   I felt such shame from my past!  The shame made me feel
very unworthy.

And I honestly think, that unless you also have known paralyzing shame, painful
abuse, or even lousy personal choices, it is hard to understand and relate.

But let’s be honest.

Many stopping by here at our Place Called Simplicity have things in their background
that have caused them great pain, unsurpassed heartache and desperate shame.
Yes, some may have been self-inflicted while others were victimized by someone else –
often actually someone they trusted.

But there is HOPE!!

I’d like to take today, Good Friday, to share my heart for a bit.

It just seems like a beautiful day to do that.

Good Friday, reminds us of the unimaginable pain that the son of God
bore for you and for me.  He came to earth for one purpose – to bring hope,
healing and forgiveness all through the free gift He offered.

The gift of Salvation.

Yet, He was not received by many.

And so it is, that we actually have two choices in life.

We can either accept His free gift.

Or we can reject His free gift.

Let’s just say it – many of us have been burdened down by the weight of heartaches
we shouldn’t have known, pain we didn’t ask for and sometimes situations we got
involved in that were undeniably wrong.

But friend – there is Hope.

True, unyielding, unrelenting, unsurpassed Hope!!

And that Hope is in Christ and Him alone.

He is our only Hope.

He came to earth and lived a sinless life, then willingly He went to the cross,
taking upon Himself my sin and the sin of anyone else who would ask Him
to.

So it was that I, a very broken little girl, asked Jesus to be my Savior and from
that day forth He not only saved me from my own sin, but He gave me Hope.

I told Him when I received Him as my Savior, “God, I only ever want to
obey you.  I want to make you proud of me.  I want you to be my best friend.”
And I set out on a purposed mission to know the Savior who had died for me
and set me free, cause frankly friends, I could not ever thank Him enough for what
He did.

The least I could do was spend my life obeying, thanking and praising Him.

I would love to tell you that my life was bliss after that powerful day.

But that would not be anywhere near true!

it was anything but bliss.

My days continued to be filled with trauma, pain and abuse.  And the ONLY thing that got
me through that yukky long season was His love being poured out on my life.  I whispered
to Him at all hours.  I read my Bible daily {and still do} and He spoke to my soul.  I
learned to fast back the too.

And what did He do in return??

He gave me Hope, even though the situations
in my life were painful,  He never left me.
He spent night after night awake with me.
He heard my cries and He tenderly comforted me.

People can argue about a lot of things, but
they can’t argue with someone’s personal
experience.  And let me tell you – my life was
dramatically changed by the mighty power
of Jesus Christ the day, many, many years ago,
that I asked Him to be my Savior.  I had peace,
even though I still struggled with personal trauma,
abuse and great heartache.

If there was just one thing I can share – I long for
each of you, my sweet bloggy friends,
to know the joy of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

No matter what you have in your past:

abuse
molestation
stealing
jail time
substance abuse
pornography
abortion
an affair{s}
even murder

There is nothing you could have done that would stop
God from loving you.

Nothing.

He longs for you to know the joy of being at peace with Him, being set free from
the chains of your past and the unarguable thrill of getting to know Him personally.

  1. Thank you for posting this! I am facilitating MTS in Kansas with another lady (because of your prompting years ago). The Holy Spirit has brought much healing and hope for many women. Thanks for the authenticity and truth you speak through the blog. Hope you all have a blessed Easter!
