KARL

For those who are visiting at our Place Called Simplicity to find updates about Karl, welcome!  Since this serves as my personal journal and story to my family, there will be bits and pieces of our treasures interspersed with updates of Karl.
Thank you so much for understanding.
*******
The kids have been hanging in there as we are away.
A few friends have brought them some meals and we are so thankful for that. Emma and Graham have been stopping regularly and praying with the kids throughout the day.
Monday they texted me some pictures
they had taken of each other.  Grandma had even stopped over for a minute and she even got a “KARL” tattoo.  I can pretty much bet that never in Grandma’s wildest dreams would she have guessed that she would want a ‘tattoo’ on her arm at 77 years old.  But our entire family loves Karl deeply and we are standing together, with everyone else, as we pray Karl to restored health.

In fact, many of you have said that you wrote
Karl’s name on your hand or arm too.

Abigail {our oldest daughter} and Finn {Mimi’s favorite baby boy} flew in to support Autumn.  They arrived late Monday night.  It is a wonderful blessing to have them here.  As most of you know Abigail is a photographer with her own {very successful} photography business {Abi Q Photography}.  Abi flies around the country to do weddings and photo shoots.

Abi got a picture this morning from one of her “brides” {whose wedding she had shot} who also put KARL on her hand.

Amazing love being shown from everywhere and from people who don’t even know Karl.  All of us at in the ICU waiting room holding a vigil for Karl, are incredibly moved.

Completely amazed.

Thank you.

  1. Just sent an e-mail to my church body to pray for Karl. Love the tattoos! When I read about the bride I cried! I just cant since early today stop thinking about Luke 5 starting with verse 17, Story of friends who lowered their friend trough the roof so Jesus could heal him. Same healer today, Yesterday, and tomorrow! Janet

  2. We are praying for Karl. My 4 yr old asked earlier "how's Karl?" I pray he feels all our prayers. And I also pray you all feel our prayers.

  3. Praying for Karl. Have his name on my hand. It washes off and I write it back on. Praying also for Autumn and all the family. Praise and prayer! Praise and prayer!

  4. I’ve been in the healthcare industry in the hospital setting for many years. Time and time again, I’ve seen friends, family, co-worker, church members…etc display the person’s name of which are in great need of prayer as a sort of memento of unified thoughts. (in the sand, with candy, with pen on their hand, chalk, flowers, beads, stickers, dry pasta, yarn,….any way possible.) Then they take a picture and send it to a specific email, blog….and it becomes a huge picture collage that can be uploaded for everyone to see. It is truly overwhelmingly powerful to the person/family/families to see their loved one name so creatively displayed out of love by so many strangers, friends, family and co-workers.

    Blessing,
