Tomorrow for Karl

Early this afternoon Derek came and sat next to me and said, “Soooo, whose praying right now?”  
And there were your names on the line:  
Tiffany, Megan B, Hezra, Brynn, Lori and Esther!  
Love it 
and 
love all of you 
Bob and Vicki each took turns reading a few of the comments 
some of you have left on the blog.
Isn’t this whole internet thing so amazing? 
Finding out today that even the most skeptical doctor that is on Karl’s team was impressed with the steady progress, was a feeling that words are inadequate to capture.  
And by the way, someone was gracious enough to extend the 72 Hour Prayer Vigil, so it is not too late to sign up for Thursday. 
And ya’ know what’s really cool?  There are skeptics out there watching all this…and they are seeing first hand the power of concerted prayer by those who believe going before a 
HEALING AND LOVING GOD.  
We know that 
Karl would not be where he is 
without Amighty God’s divine intervention.  
Prayer moves.  
Scripture even says that! 
Anyway, this morning I was talking to Liberty for a little bit.  She said, “Mom, I’m surprised you haven’t asked for people to fast with everyone for Karl’s healing.”  
I kind of laughed.  She knows me all too well.
I told her that many of us had already been 
fasting and it just hadn’t crossed my mind.
Well, here at our Place Called Simplicity we often fast together – fasting to see God move the mountains in each others lives.
And there is a very big mountain that the doctors are waiting for.
Karl needs to open his eyes on his own.
So I asked Bob and Vicki what they thought about having a day of prayer and fasting for Karl to open his eyes? 
They loved the idea!
So tomorrow is declared the official 
Day of 
PRAYER and FASTING 
for 
KARL’S EYES 
to 
OPEN
Fast a meal, two meals, all day 
AND 
spend the time you would be eating in prayer.
If you are new to fasting, I spoke on FASTING at the church we pastor a couple of months ago.  Actually, Karl and Autumn were in the audience listening.  Vicki told me today that Karl had even talked to her about fasting after he heard it.

    I will be joining you for a full day fast tommrow! Praying that Karl will open his eyes, praying for strength for Vicki and Bob, praying for strength for Autumn and the rest of you, praying for your little ones at home and anything else the Lord lays upon my heart!!

  4. I will be joining you tomorrow. Praying throughout the day each day as Karl comes to mind. Praise God for Karl's progress so far! I believe He can restore Karl's body to the way it was before the accident and will continue to pray for that until it comes to be. Lots of love, Charissa

  5. I will be honored to fast for Karl tomorrow. A little over a year ago a friend of mine lost her 18 year old daughter in a motorcyle accident. We did not have the opportunity to fast and pray for her earthly healing as she was pronounced at the scene. Standing with all of you!!!

  6. I will join you for lunch and breakfast. Praying for everyone involved. I have especially intervened for Autumn, asking that she not be asked to walk this valley for too much longer. My heart has been burdened for her.

  7. I am completely in. Know that I have been praying, I have been very busy with work, so I haven't really commented, but I have been praying. God even gave me a great little reminder today: one of the girls in the age group I've been working with at summer camp is named Autumn. (Like Erica, a few comments ahead of me, I've been spending some time praying specifically for Autumn and her heart in all of this)

  8. Linny, I'm almost crying as I type this out. My sweetie & I are adopting 2 babies from Uganda, & several weeks ago I felt the need to fast & pray for our adoption & a match. I chose Thursdays. I will be honored to spend some time praying & fasting on Karl's behalf as well. Thank you for asking!

For Autumn to be saturated with the unfathomable peace of our Lord.   20. We just returned from camping since Sunday, I had no idea this had happened. I want you to know how much I love you and your family. I will be praying from now on for Karl. I am so sorry this has happened. However, this is all part of God's grander plan. I pray that through this traggic time, lives would be changed and people would come to know Jesus. I have been a follower here since 2008, and have fasted quite a few times before and read your posts about the fasting; but I just watched the link to your sermon and the Lord spoke to my heart through your words. I feel like I "get" fasting like I hadn't before. I'm excited to wake up tomorrow and spend time with the Lord fasting and praying for Karl and for some mountains in my life.

  27. I will absolutely be praying for Karl too be able to open his eyes – and fasting. Due to blood sugar problems I can't fast a complete day…..but I will be able to fast two meals, with several small snacks. Praying-n-fasting in Missouri……xoxoxo

  29. I will fast here in Washington state! Our pastor taught on Sunday on John 9: When Jesus healed the man who was born blind. Everyone questioned why this had happened to this man. But Jesus said in vs.3 that "this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life."

    It's so hard to understand why this has happened to Karl. But as you are so faithfully claiming, so many are watching and waiting to see the miracles of our Lord and Saviour!

    The passage goes on to say that Jesus made some mud with his saliva and put it on the man's eyes. "Go" he told them, "wash in the Pool of Siloam"(this means Sent). So the man went and washed and came home seeing." I was praying about this scripture and it struck me that the miracle happened when Jesus applied the mud, even though he still had to be "sent" to wash and then see.

    The thousands of prayers for Karl to see have already been applied. I believe God has already done the miracle. But since Karl can't himself be "sent" to the pool…we must be on our knees for him…in his place…for his eyes to be opened. Praise God!

  30. I'm praying and fasting along with you all today. It seems every time I open my eyes in the morning, Karl is the first thing that comes to my heart to pray for. After praying, I jump to the computer to read the progress.

  31. Joining with you in Kentucky. As a physician I do understand the "skeptical doctor" in the group. We are trained and practice in the realm of the "seen". I am so thankful there is much more than that. Praying that the unseen will knock the socks off everyone involved.

  32. I am praying! I have to be at the hospital for a bunch of Hematology stuff for Ravenna today so I do not think I can fast but will definitely be praying for OPEN eyes and clarity from Karl as well as peace for everyone who steps into his room.

    You've got my thoughts and prayers coming from Aunt Crazy here in Houston, TX.

    My best friend's son was recently involved in an auto accident where he was thrown from the truck and life flighted to a trauma center. That phone call and the hour it took me to drive there were so hard. Walking into the "family" room instead of the waiting room, I knew to expect the worst. Luckily, he pulled through and while he did suffer injuries to his brain and body, he's healing and he's improving daily and for that I'm so very thankful because 18 year old boys have such long lives to live.

    Raising Karl and y'all up in prayer, please Lord lay your healing hands not only on Karl's brain and body but on his heart and soul and on the heart and soul of those who know and love him. Give them peace to support him and follow them on this journey. Amen
