Jubilee’s Surgery

Today we had a lot of last minute testing
to get done for Miss Jubilee.
She has been such a trooper.
But, no doubt, she understands something is up.
I have tried to explain everything as best I can to her.
After her second CT scan today, she quickly picked two toys from the toy box at the surgeon’s office {she had the privilege of TWO since she had sat so perfectly still while they scanned her head}…..
and the instant she had chosen two toys she was
dragging me by the arm saying,
“Let’s go mom!”
The surgery is set for 7:30 PST and
we have to be there at 6:30 for prep…
so we are leaving our hotel just before 5:30pst.
Thank you to those who have said they will fast
tomorrow for our sweet Jubilee Promise.
I will be updating Twitter on the sidebar.
Oh, and the surgery is usually about 3 hours,
but her case is more extensive
and so they are expecting it to be about FOUR hours.
Showered, hair washed and ready for surgery in the morning….
{Isn’t she just so beautiful? Such a treasure to all who know her.}
Please pray specifically that:
1.  The tumor has not penetrated into the brain.
2.  That it is not malignant.
3.  Ministering angels will minister to her as she ‘sleeps’.
4.  The Lord would completely guide the skilled surgeon’s hands each step of the way during this delicate surgery.

  1. In tears.

You realize… I know you do… that if she were not here with you, that her situation would be far more dangerous.

And I'm sure that she has very quickly fit into her family in such a way that she cannot imagine living without this love and care.

I wish I could pray over her in person. I remember the night before they shaved half my head and opened it up to try to restore my hearing.

It was terrifying. Which makes me even more desperately thankful that she has you. And a Jesus who loves her beyond measure and will talk to her as she sleeps.

  2. I cannot imagine all that you are going through. Iprayed for Jubilee last night and will again tonight and tomorrow. I love your heart Linny and I adore your family, and I only know you through a computer. It's amazing how the Lord uses you and your words in ways you'll never know this side of heaven! Thank you for sharing your life, challenging others, and blessing us through your words and heart. Hoping for sweet Jubilee and her momma that tomorrow is smoother than any op has ever gone before.

  3. Linny,
Haven't been by for awhile, and so sorry to hear about Jubilee. Will certainly be praying for all your requests and hoping it is not anymore serious than this surgery.
May the Lord surround you all with his peace and love.
    Blessings, Nellie

  4. Lord, we lift up dear Jubilee to you today. We pray that you would protect her and hold her in the palm of your hand. That you would guide the surgeons hands and give him wisdom. We pray the tumor would be contained and completely removed. That her brain would be protected and untouched by th tumor. We pray that your peace would surround DW and Linny. We thank you thank you for your love for Jubilee and your healing grace! In Christ Jesus we pray, Amen!

  5. Prayers without ceasing today for you, your family and your Jubilee Promise. For your surgeon and hospital staff as well. Prayers for quick and painless recovery in addition to your requests.

  6. Sweet Linny, as your morning has begun….I am reminded that God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.

And, from my favorite book of God's word, so many things are running through my mind. Through Isaiah, God says,

"I will carry you! I will go before you. The LORD's hand is not shortened. I will make the crooked places straight."

May the LORD God hold Jubilee's right hand, as He holds yours and your families. When you pass through these waters, He will be with you, and they will NOT overflow you. Though you are walking through the fire, you will NOT be burned.

That that others will see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of the LROD has done this.

    Praying for you!
    Robbie

  7. Praying for your sweet girl, for the surgeons, that the tumor is benign and for her wonderful family!

YES- she is as beautiful and as precious as can be!

    xoxo

  8. Linny
Not only will I be praying for all that you listed but for the one thing that you didn't list and is just as important and that is FOR YOU HER MOTHER!!!! I have been in your shoes waiting for a surgeon to come out and tell me my child is going to be fine so I lift you up as much as I lift up the surgeons hands and claim GODS promise that HE SENT HIS WORD AND HEALD THEM ALL!!!!!!

  9. I will fast today for Jubilee's surgery. I am already fasting, as it happens, but will count Jubilee's surgery and your specific prayer requests among the things I'm talking with God about today.

As it happens, we just yesterday were amazed to start *another*, very-unexpected-before-last-week adoption that will be completed (LORD WILLING) in a month, as this girl ages out of her country's orphan care in less than five weeks. She will arrive home three months before Aubrey, the adoption we have been working on for a year and a half. Why does one adoption take two years and another take one month? Life is strange, but God is GOOD! And we are trusting Him to provide.

I will continue to be in prayer today and in the days following Jubilee's recovery.

Love you from a long distance, Linny!

  10. Her name is on my hand today. Praying for peace for all of you, for wisdom and skill for surgeons, for the Holy Spirit to guide their hands and judgments, for Jubilee's safety and healing. He has brought her so far to be with her family and I know He holds her, and all of you, now.

  11. Am definately praying all of these things for your sweet Jubilee as well as for peace and strength for you and DW. I am trusting God for an extremely positive outcome. Love, Feona

  12. Linny,

Praying for your sweet Jubilee as she "sleeps" for a bit while the surgeons work. We pray for peace for you and for strength and understanding for Jubilee. We pray for no cancer!!
Know that you are being lifted up today and always.
    Love,
    Alycia
