Mountain Number One

There are so many thoughts floating around my
noggin at this moment.
We are beginning our journey to Uganda on Sunday.
So things are a little nuts around the homestead
{to say the least.}
I have been on the phone with a neurosurgeon’s office
this afternoon.
He is more than willing to see Miss R when we return,
which is a blessing.
He did say that we should plan for her to be in the hospital for
at least a month when we return.
We are flying out of a major city so when Emma and I return we can take her directly to the hospital {if needed}.  This neurosurgeon, whose speciality is pediatrics, happens to be out of town the week we return. Not sure what to make of that, but thankful that the Lord goes before us each step of the way.
Although I have to say, I was beginning to have fears creep in.
And yes, I have to be vague.
ugh.
{The downside of having a very public blog.}
Suffice it to say that circumstances were becoming very concerning.
We needed God to move a very big mountain
{like a 14,000 ft. one!}
 in a big way.
He needed to move SUPER BIG.
He needed to move HUGE.
In fact this mountain was GARGANTUAN.
Then this afternoon the kids and I were reading our Bibles together.
We were studying about Moses and how God rescued the Israelites and all the mountains He moved to set them free from Pharaoh.  Then the Red Sea parting – much to their surprise!

We turned the conversation then to the mountains that had all been moved for each of the kids to come home to our family:
an entire Chinese Government being moved on Isaiah’s behalf;
 Elizabeth being sick and rescued by one hour at the last minute;
Luthern Serv*ces not returning Liberty’s birth moms
call looking for a family!
Then we talked about the mountains that needed to be moved for Ruby Grace and Sarah Jane.

And we knelt together and prayed.
I love kneeling before the throne of grace
and I love that we do it as a family.
I wish I could have recorded the kids praying.
The pray specifically and they pray with a deep love they already
 have for their two new sisters waiting in Africa.
Even Elijah understands what’s at stake!
He’s lived in an orphanage and yes, he seems to remember.
Elizabeth remembers a ton.
Isaiah remembers.
And so it is with deep concern that they pray for the huge circumstances
 that stand between Africa and Colorado.
And about 2 hours after we knelt and prayed Dw texted me.
He had gotten an email from Africa.
Mountain number one had moved.

Miraculously.
And as much as I hate to have to be so vague,
I am unable to share publicly, yet.
BUT
I am thinking that one day I will write this story all out.
And life has settled down.
 That might be in about 20 years.
But for now, rejoice with us that our Miracle-working, Mountain-moving, Awe-inspiring, Gasp-giving God has moved the first mountain!
Now just the remainder of the Rocky Mountains stand in the way.

So very thankful we can trust the Mountain-Mover.

“I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain,
‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt
in his heart but believes that what he says will happen,
 it will be done for him.”
Mark 11:23 niv

  1. Praising God and praying for your other mountains to move in God's perfect timing and power. I have a picture of a mountain on the cupboard door with these words…"Speak to your mountains" Amen…and Amen….what a blessing for your sweet children to see yet another mountain moved as they kneel down and pray!

  2. You know I always pray for you and your wonderful family but know this day I am praying for all the mountains to miraculously crumble to pieces right before your eyes! Those are your baby girls God has promised you! I love you!!

  3. Praying for the mountains to be leveled!!!

    Isaiah 45:2-3 "I will go before you and will level the mountains; I will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron. I will give you the treasures of darkness, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am The Lord"

  4. WOOHOO! Praising God with you and your family that the Lord is already moving those mountains… Go Linny and Emma… God God! We can't wait to see how the Lord is paving the way for you to go get your girls, all in God's time. Linny, you are truly AMAZING… I know you don't want to necessarily hear that, but everytime I come to read, I am truly inspired and encouraged! God is working through you in a big way! Much love…
    Sara and crew in OK:)

  5. Please don't ever apologize for being vague. Everything you share with us is appreciated…to be honest, everything you don't share is a appreciated to because we know you are doing what is best for your family. Thank you for sharing especially your needs. You allow us the blessing of praying with you!

  6. Just one stranger to another…

    I wrote earlier (on the 16th) that I needed God to move a mountain in Africa or I was coming home alone! Guess who came home Friday (on the 23rd) with her son? ME!

    Truthfully, I have been a little jealous of the relationship you have with God, so I asked him to show me some of that awe-some-ness you dwell in! And he answered my prayer!!!!!! Miraculously, the Embassy cleared us and gave us our visa in the final, and I mean final hour! Did I mention that they yielded in the final hour????? That monstrous mountain of bureaucratic hot mess crumbled literally before my eyes.

    Thank you Linny, for showing me what our Great God is capable of. Your faith is something to behold.
