In My Arms {f.o.r.e.v.e.r.}

This morning I was granted total custody of Ruby Grace since I was able to give the official document.
Some homes allow immediate custody by adoptive parents.
 This one does not.
Anyway, the papers were signed and I ran to change our littlest African Princess.
We had brought the sweetest soft pink romper for this very monumental occasion.
So adorable.
I dressed her and picked her up.
Several came to where I was dressing her and
said their good-byes…
and I turned to leave
and this precious little bundle who throws up multiple times a day promptly christened me and herself.
Emmy snagged a picture.
I could not stop laughing.
The timing was impeccable.
But my joy overflows.
She is now at the guest house with us.
And this Mom of Many is tickled p.i.n.k.

  1. Mom of Many, I love your spirit and your smile even in the mist of untimely throw up! What a precious and funny "Gotcha" story you will have to share with Miss Ruby as she grows up surrounded by total love and acceptance in your home.

Still praying for your other baby! I trust that God is still moving mountains on her behalf.

    He's awesome like that!

I haven't followed as long as some but I am so in love with your love of our GOD, your family and these wonderful children.

Thank you for being real, it shows! Blessings!

  2. oh my, oh my, oh my…

The song playing on your site right now is…

"Your love oh Lord, reaches to the heavens.
Your faithfulness stretches to the sky…."

Boy…..is that perfect for this morning!

    (Pause)

And now…"My deliverer is the Lord."

I just explained your family to my 4 kids (oldest is 5 years). We worshiped our King to the music playing. My kids counted each of your kids faces along the top of the page (in the line of images). I said "When the Mama gets home, she will put a photo of Ruby Grace right here at the end of the line (by Elijah).

AND…then my sweet 4 year old boy (only boy) said… "There is room for one more right there" and pointed to the left of Abby and Ryan. Just saying…listen to the little children….

WOHOOOOO! So happy for your family and for Ruby Grace!

Now playing…"You've stolen my heart…yes you have."

  3. Congratulations, Dwight & Linny!!!!

  4. So pleased that she is safely in your families arms. No more running down the road to see her or kissing goodnight and leaving. Now even closer to coming home. Still praying. This post has made my day. xxx xox xxx

  5. Hey Miss Linn,

I was at church early today… and wondered how you were doing. So I checked the blog. How beautiful your precious Ruby is! I can't wait to meet her and can't wait until she is with you at your sweet home in Colorado. Oh what love she will have poured out upon her. God is good. He loves you so much.

Peace to you today, (puke and everything!) lol

    Jen

  8. Congratulations! I believe this is my first time commenting here. I've been following your blog for a while now though (maybe a year?).

Ruby Grace is gorgeous. Your family is beautiful in so many ways, and I'm so glad you can now officially say your little gem is yours. 🙂

  9. Joseph and I are hoping to go and see you after you come back… we really miss you and hope to meet your precious little girls… God Bless you…. love you Linny…

  10. It's so beautiful to see a mother with her child, especially when they are both covered in up-chuck!
Ruby already looks so much healthier now than when we first saw her pictures. How awesome is that?!
God is so good, so VERY good.

  11. Long time lurker, first time poster, total lactivist. When you are able, I would suggest finding a breastfeeding mama who would donate some milk. It may help with the spit up issue as well as boosting her immune system and help her gain weight. Congrats!

  12. So so happy to hear this. Hope she is coming home with you soon. Praying with you as you miss your others so badly! Also praying for Emma. I hope she is getting better.

Love the picture, it is such a good reminder that what you are writing and fighting is not in a dream world or hollywood movie, but life… in abundance!

    Blessings,
    Laurie

  14. I can't believe how much she has grown! Those rolls of chub on her leg are such a testament to the TLC paying off. Love the romper and the capture of her spit-up…you will certainly always remember the moment.

    Blessings for the journey ahead.

  15. Okay friend, I must say that's a GOTCHA photo like no other I've seen . . .though the laughter on your face shows the pure (pukish) joy of the moment! In perfect Ruby Grace style!

Welcome to your family Ruby Grace!

Thank you Lord for this indescibable gift! You are Good!

Love you Linny, continuing to pray~

    Tina

  17. I feel only sadness for this little adoptee who is about to loose her country, her culture, her language and her connection to her homeland.

  18. Woo-hoo!!!!!! It's official!! Oh that just blesses my heart. That picture is a keeper, puke and all! Praying for your quick homecoming. Haven't forgotten Miss Sarah either. Don't know what all is going on there, but still praying. You are loved!

  19. Nothing sweeter than your own sweet baby's spit-up. What a precious photo. I am completely and totally in love with that brown beauty. I would love to snuggle and kiss that sweet little face. She is beautiful and I am so happy for you and all your family. Praying for a swift finish to all that you have to do so you can get on a plane back home to all your other littles. ~Martha

  20. Ha ha!! I love that you posted pictures of this! Our oldest had reflux and threw up many times a day, also – we had just installed hardwood floor and I will never forget the "splatter factor." Every blessing on you and this new little gem!
