H.O.M.E.

Yesterday the pediatrician told us that we could not leave until
Ruby’s sodium level had risen and stabilized.
At 6:30 am this morning the pediatrician came in again and re-emphasized that Ruby could not be discharged until her sodium level had risen and stabilized.  In fact she said, “We’ll check it again tomorrow.”  ugh.  I settled in.  Guess we’re gonna’ be here for awhile.
Later in the day a guy came in to chat.  Phoenix Children’s is a teaching hospital and it turned out he was a third year med student {very nice young guy}.  Anyway, he said, “So I guess Ruby is getting to go home now, they’re drawing the discharge papers up.”
I’m sure the look on my face was one of complete surprise.
“Really?  Okay, good.”
He left and we grabbed Ruby and ran for the door.
I said to Dw, “We better wait to hear
that from someone a bit higher on the chain.”
Within a half hour or so in walked a different
pediatrician who announced that Ruby was being discharged.
We didn’t asked any questions.
{haha}

Emma told me that this morning
Elizabeth had buried her head in her pillow sobbing,
“I just want Mommy to come home.”

Sooooooo….
At this moment, I am making dinner and being
serenaded by Isaiah and Elizabeth waltzing around me.

Elijah is hanging close to mom.

And Jubilee is practicing her writing at the island.

Graham is recording a song at a friend’s home.
Liberty’s gone hiking with friends.
Emma and Savannah have gone for coffee together.
And little Miss Ruby’s getting ready to eat.

Ahhhh.

Home with my boatload of treasures.
Nothing better.
Nothing ever better.
