Sweet Feet

We cannot thank all of you enough for praying for Ruby.
There is no doubt that the medical staff here at Phoenix Children’s took her situation very seriously!
We were moved last night up to the Intensive Care unit.
One of Dr. S’s partners tapped Ruby’s shunt to check the fluid.
Within about 20 minutes Ruby started to wake up
{indicating that less fluid in the brain made her feel better}.
There is a thought that maybe the pressure in her
shunt needs to be turned down, yet again.
In the meantime, there is another thought and they will doing some more extensive testing today.
Nursing staff up here in PICU have been excited to see Ruby…many fell in love with her when she was here for {total} almost four weeks over the last few months.   So, kinda like ol’ home days, I suppose.  They are loving how much she has grown.
At the moment, little Miss Ruby is curled up sleeping beside me and we are listening to worship music.
{Ruby’s dimpled knees are my personal favorite.}

Not sure if most of you remember, but Dw and Emma leave in TWO days to lead the team to Uganda for 2 weeks, right?
The timing of it all is certainly something worth
spending some time praying about.
 I will keep you posted.
I just read through and published {crazy how many of you responded!}  all of the responses to the “It’s Your Turn” post….wow.  I will be responding to that post soon.  I am still shaking my head that so many of you came out of hiding…..bless each one of you for speaking up, cause your comments truly, truly blessed me.

  1. Will keep praying for Ruby. We are in the middle of our second adoption/ 6th child. It will be awhile before our son is home and my husband says last adoption. Well I have had the strong feeling the last few weeks that we are supposed to adopt a couple from Uganda. The signs are coming in left and right. I just emailed my husband that he is ok today because there were no signs, then I checked your blog. There you are talking about your husband and daughter heading to Uganda. God definately has plans greater than ours and I just have to laugh at each sign! Will love watching you post about their trip!!!

  2. Thanks for the update. Praying that Miss Ruby is well and home soon. Praying also for you all as DW and Emma go to Uganda.
As for the feet and dimpled knees…. just beautiful.
Love, hugs and prayers to you all XXX

  3. Praying for Ruby Grace! Tickled to see that Ruby's knees have enough fat on them to actually have dimples!! Can Ruby's condition eventually be cured or will she suffer with this for life?? Praying that she's beginning to feel better real soon!

  4. Linny and Family,
I know we have never met and that I have never commented on your blog so farm, but I have been following it for the last few months and love hearing the updates and Little Miss Ruby and the other kiddos. This morning, I woke up at 5:30 am and couldn't fall back asleep. All that kept popping into my head was your little Ruby. Something (or someone?) was telling me that something wasn't right and that I needed to say a little prayer for her (and I wouldn't consider myself to be a very religious person but something was telling me that was the right thing to do). I have just had a chance to hop on the internet and check your blog and sure enough, I have just found out the latest about Ruby. Now I understand why I was woken up this morning and couldn't sleep. I'll continue to pray for her speedy healing and for your family.

  5. Hanging on your ever update….praying for Ruby, precious girl. Linny you amaze me, and inspire me. I think I have a lot on my plate some days, but I know you have more, yet you never complain, or loose faith.
((hugs)) to you….your faithfulness is noticed.

  6. Praying for you and your precious baby girl. Praying for healing for her and wisdom for the doctors to figure out what's going on and for peace for you and your family.

  7. Praising Almighty God for answered prayers. Will continue to pray for you all. BTW….LOVE her "chubby" legs!!! Chubby….!!!! Ruby has chubby legs……Woo-Hoo!

  8. I love those dimpled knees too! And the fact the she's feeling better! I missed your post on commenting, so here's my 2 cents: I only comment when I feel very compelled to, as I HATE the "type the two words in the box to prove you're not a robot" thing!! Half the time I can't read the words (they aren't always 'real' words!) and the other half my iPad autocorrects and I don't see it until right as I click "publish"! As if to prove my point, or punish me, it's taken me 2 computers and about 20 minutes to get this published!! Lol!

  9. Praise the Lord that things are going better! I admit I was getting so worried!! God is good. : )

And I have to comment about your lurkers post–I am glad you wrote it, because on my little blog (and I don't write on it nearly as often as I used to,) hardly ANYBODY comments at all. It is so weird to keep on feeling like you are talking to yourself since hardly anyone says a word. I know lots of people read it, because I see the little ticker on the side telling me that they are. So strange how some people just like to be silent. Oh well! : )

  10. Ok Ok Im a luker and I commenting. I pray for you and your family everyday. I think you are amazing. I think your children are beautiful and you've done a great job! I'm just a small town country girl from Ragley, Louisiana.
and if Karl has any more tricks up his sleeve he might have more people show up for the wedding than he has room for. Thats enough stressing this almost 40 yr old mom of 3. god bless you all !

  11. So thankful that Ruby is doing better. Her little knees are so adorable. I just want to touch those cute little feet. I manage a large NICU and these babies are just so precious. I will keep her and you and your family in my prayers.

  12. I had been checking your blog constantly looking for an update. My daughter Bekah was even praying for an update on Ruby. So glad that she is in a great hospital and that she woke up a bit. Continuing to lift her up in prayer.

  13. Hi friend,

So glad that you were able to get Miss Ruby to the hospital where she needed to be! i am sorry that i missed your post about it. i will be praying for you as you and the doctors discover what is going on with her. Praying for Dw and Emma as the return to Uganda!
    Sending a hug your way!
    Love you,
    Alycia

  14. I'm so sorry Linny. I just found out from Dwight's post about Ruby. I'm praying for a speedy recovery for a little princess! It's so hard to see the needles in her skin. Lots of love and prayers!

  15. I'm sorry for the scare… yes it is interesting that it happened when Dw and Emma is about to leave… that reminds me of Dw getting his ankle hurt… how to deal with this? sing "everything is done Your way, You are King, we trust in You, we thank You" acknowledge Him at all times…..

  16. Oh! I could just squeeze those thighs!!! So amazing to see her now when I still can see that emaciated forgotten child from your earliest pics.
God is so good that He gave you to Ruby!!! Or is it Ruby to you?!?! Such a match that only He could have orchestrated this pairing.

Praying for her and you as you manage her condition and all its challenges.

On a side note, WE ARE OFFICIALLY LICENSED and waiting for the foster children that God ordains to start coming! He is so good and His plans and purposes can not be derailed!
